I think Hasbro is just hedging their bets. Considering the supply chaos caused mainly by the inept current US federal government, they're just playing it safe in case it actually takes that long to get all their product from factory to store shelves/warehouses.

If you think the global supply chaos was caused by one administration in just the last nine months, you know as little about supply chains as you do toys.

I'm not going to say that people shouldn't be able to blame one political party for toys continuing to ship late, or blame woke Twitter for making sexy robot lady too fat and big robot guy not too fat enough, but could you all at least try to keep it to a dedicated thread or a culture war board in general instead of trying to derail every major line thread all the time?

It's less of a matter of where the cause is and more of how quickly any given country can get their end resolved, be it shipping out or receiving. I don't know how affected Europe is, but at least the U.S. is feeling the effects. It's slow, but not a full stop thankfully.

Agreed. The internet gives any idiot the power to blame any group/movement/idea they want to demonize for any topic being discussed by cherry-picking whatever dots they want to connect, as several contributors to this thread have already demonstrated. I could just as easily blame the demise of my ex-employer Toys'R'Us on fidget-spinners because they became popular in TRU's dying days and I consider them s#!tty excuses for toys, except I'm well-aware that doing so would mean employing the same conspiri-tard logic that leads vaccine sceptics to inject themselves with horse-dewormer.

AHEM

As for Arcee, I consider this toy a huge disappointment and the worst representation of her character to date, but I do want to like it as another character. While blanket G1-ification didn't explain the end result as easily as Bulkhead at first glance, it now occurs to me that her torso specifically looks kind of like some of Floro Dery's more androgynous generics from the cartoon. And that's got me wondering if she's intended to be a female Junkion down the road? Granted, I've wanted every past deluxe Prime Arcee repainted into a female Junkion more than this mold, and doing Junk's population proper would also require Hasbro to make some female Lithonians to repaint, but this mold does have a lot of potential with a few new heads.

I'm a tad confused as to how much backlash Drag Strip's vehicle mode got at the start of this thread. I agreed with consensus that the Stunticons were the CW team that turned out the worst, in part because of Drag Strip and Motormaster's destiny to become Mirage and Op (though I liked Breakdown enough that I never understood why he tended to get bashed the most), so I'm thrilled that they're the first team to get a more media-accurate redo.

And I'm not sure about actually buying Bulkhead, but it's high time we got a good high-water-rescue truck alt. Flooding looks to only be getting worse around the world, so that type of vehicle will only become more relevant and popular with the general public.

I think the more likely explanation is that this figure is a pre-tool for other differently-proportioned bikes, like the rumored Road Rocket and the hoped-for Flamewar, who was a Cybertron redeco before she was a Prime Arcee redeco. I think the new mold is great, but I understand why purists would be disappointed.

You've bashed the government 2 times now, enough, leave that talk out of this. Not only does it have no place here, it is inaccurate to state that one country's federal policies are mainly responsable for the global supply chain, so it becomes off topic. I do not want a reply, I just want this to end, now. If you wish to get more of your grievances for the current US government (and I concur, there are many grievances to be had) off your chest, go jot about it in your collection thread. Same goes for everyone here.

It's funny, because I jokingly called him "Bulkhound" in 2014 since Prime was still fresh on the mind and he evoked that much more than the average proportioned jeep bot. I think I said this in this thread but maybe it was only on Facebook, but every reuse of this mold other than Bulkhead is looking better than the main event.

Having had some time to reflect on the reveals, I'm not particularly sold on anyone from this presentation. I was impressed by drag strip at first but the more I look at him, the more I think I'm fine with my CW. He gets the double front wheels (which are apparently a real thing?), the cockpit chest, and the more accurate head but loses the cool-looking head, the universal compatibility, and the maroon stripes breaking up all the yellow. If the stunticons are just going to be worn as armor rather than truly forming the limbs, I'm unimpressed, cartoon accuracy be damned. Arcee looks okay and to her credit she is the first version of that character to have her highlights truly be pink instead of silver or whatever silvery-metallic pink the first edition had. My FE and RID are still kicking so I'll wait for Road Rocket and potentially Flamewar. Kickback looks good but I don't think I want to upgrade my insecticons from Legend to Deluxe. I'm less impressed by Skids than I was earlier, but he's notorious for being Just A Guy so impressive isn't really his thing. I'll make a decision in person.

I hadn't realized the Iguanus was G1 Iguanus.... or to be more precise I didn't know there was such a thing as G1 Iguanus. I looked him up and he's neat so I guess there's still some gaps in my knowledge. Still a little sad we're not getting toy-only BW characters. Not that BW Iguanus is important to me, but it's the principle of the matter.

I caught onto Laser (it is not and has never been spelled Lazer) OP using the Earthrise leg structure with new shin panels. I can live with it but I really wish they'd get rid of the Siege trailer port that makes the legs asymmetrical if they're not going to turn them inside out for transformation. Still waiting for the Scourge/Black Convoy release of the mold to get it.

I think the May release date is just their latest anticipated date. We know Pulse tends to get stuff late and last, and of course there's lots of uncertainties in the supply chain right now, so we'll probably realistically start seeing Legacy stuff hit shelves in February or March before it hits full saturation in April or so.

Yeah, Movie Hound is certainly more like Prime Bulkhead than G1 Hound in nearly every aspect, but that figure looks more like Movie hound than Prime Bulkhead. My head spins.

A lot of these figures don't look bad per se, but not too many of them are piquing my interest like I'd hoped. I'm down for Skids and maybe a new Stunticon team, since those are a couple of my favorite characters, but I have no need for Deluxe-sized Insecticons or re-imagined Prime characters (since, as many have pointed out already, the original run of Prime figures were about as good as they could be). I'd much rather see re-imaginings of some of the Japanese-only show characters, like the rest of the Brainmasters and the Breastforce, especially if Hasbro's starting to consider making non-Scramble City-style combiner teams.

That's immediately what I saw too, and given that hes based on the same vehicle kinda sorta, It seems like a given. however, given that the rumor is that he is a pre-tool for a voyager optimus (that rumor came from here, and could be pure speculation), I also see this guy:

Transformers Energon Optimus Prime (Grand Convoy) Gallery

the leg sculpt details to me seem a bit similar, but that could be my imagination. Looking at the vehicle mode, it also looks like the arms end up in the same place too.

Weapon: Electron-Pulse Gun
General Opinion for you guys.

Back in the 90's I had no desire for Laser Rod Optimus. I had the original Optimus Prime in his '85 release. I didn't realize how create a design it was until I got RID Scourge. However I still don't want or need a version of him. I have the original G1 and my definitive Voyager size is the 3rd party KBB MP10-V which happens to come with a sword, not that I endorse third party stuff= I like what I see with the Earthrise Prime so I'd suggest you get that if you want a great Prime. And if you're into the '90s style prime go for it. It looks cool

Bulk Head: Maybe I'll get it just to have a new character, but if it didn't make it into the G1 cartoon it's easy to pass

Skids: I'm getting this to complete my updated G1 Autobots. It looks fine. I'm a big fan of the G1 skids: it's a fun toy, which I believe is still available as a re-issue.

Kickback: I'm excited to get one of these and I'm hoping the rumors are true for the rest of the Insecticons. I'd be nice to have the trio in deluxe scale. And I purposely purchased a bunch of the Legends scale as army builders (which btw look good and are sized well sitting next to the G1 versions). The deluxe sized versions would be nice to tower over the "clone" army.

Prime Arcee: Looks fine. But It reminds me of Generations thrilling 30 Chromia which I have and is my definitive Chromia at the moment. Maybe I'll get the Siege one at some point. But a mix of G1 Arcee and the aforementioned Chromia isn't something I want or need.

Dragstrip: He looks cool and I'm curious about the other Stunticons. However I'm happy with my Combiner Wars version. The CW Dragstrip looks great, is fun, and has those beautiful chrome wheels. Anyway, the CW Menasor was pretty weak, but with all the upgrade kits, which I purchased, it looks amazing. I want to seem more of these new Stunticons before I decide to drop $130 on a new set. I mean, I bought every CW/PotP Combiner to complete the set. About all I want at this point is an official Devastator in scale with the rest. The other thing I like is that I have all 7 CW Stunticons and I like that extra upgraded squad. I'm curious if they're going to make all 7 or just the core 5.

A new set of Legacy Stunticons is going to run you upwards of $180, unless they go on sale ($22 each for 4 deluxes, then $85 for CC Motormaster + tax.

I'm good with what I have as well. I am really grasping at any straw I can, to find a reason to show any interest in anything Legacy related so far, but its just been a big Zero for me.

I see a LOT of strong opinions about taking characters that are not from the original series, and changing their design to *somewhat* fit that look. I agree that often it doesn't work. Also I agree that when Hasbro stops marketing a current line to promote what's next (usually just abandoning later waves to minute Social media posts, or posts from other retailers), it is kind of a slap in the face, especially since some really great toys have come late in almost every line, including Kingdom.

But also when look at Pulse' website and see of all the Legacy reveals, only the ones based on actual original series characters (Skids, Dragstrip, Kickback, and even Reformatting Galvatron), have sold out, it sends a message. It's also probably why they keep heavily promoting SS86, and every character that got a couple seconds of time on-screen in BB is getting SS toys before some major characters in the Bayverse films.

I'm not saying it is right or wrong, but just reporting what I see. Legacy reminds me a LOT of T30, which is in someways a step backwards. It is nice to have representation from other lines, and I hope it keeps happening.

However while T30 had OG characters strongly influenced by the comics designs of the time, and other series characters faithful to their respective series look, Legacy is highly influenced by the original toys/animated series (not a bad thing necessarily), and then taking characters from other series and changing their aesthetic, wit the exception of BW. Of course, I'm sure if we got BW Inferno, or Trarantulas as some sort of vehicles, the fans would be quite vocal, and probably rightfully so. I just wonder, if characters such as Bulkhead and Arcee were faithful to the look from the original series they came from do you think they would sell better?

Another similarity between T30 and Legacy is, while we are getting characters from different universes together, there is no overall crossplay pattern. I mean I guess there are the Energon weapons, but what exactly they represent if anything hasn't quite been explained (unless it was in the panel which I missed?)

In 2014, I had been out of TF toys for almost a decade (but I still watched the shows and read the comics). I had been casually looking at Classics, and Generations in stores and occasionally seeing items that were "neat", but not enough to get me back in. Prime Wars Changed all that, and with WFC, although I bought less than in Prime Wars, it had a LOT of great toys, including a couple of my all time favorites, and felt like a natural progression.

I understand Legacy is a new design team, and unfortunately 8 years later here I am about to bow out again. Sure there are a few bucket list items I'll be picking up from older lines, and keeping my eyes on anything TT does that may be special or unique outside of Hasbro, but that's about it.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak
