Y'know... that's pretty damn close to the core robot of Powermaster Optimus Prime.. :-?

Red eyes and red forehead thingy is all you'd need.

Anyone else thinking MP-41 and MP-42 will be Dinobot and Blaster? It's been a bit... strange, to say the least; to have had Dinobot shown off so long ago yet Sunstreaker and Targetmaster Hot Rod are the next ones to be released.

So I was looking at Cyberpath's post here:-

Image

And it made me realise that, despite the MP line going for this long now; we only have half of the 1984 Autobot Cars -- Ratchet, Ironhide, Prowl, Bluestreak, Sideswipe and Wheeljack. And a third of those are only through redecoing. Sunstreaker, Hound, Mirage, Trailbreaker and Jazz are all still missing. Granted, Sunstreaker is coming this December and Trailbreaker is all but confirmed, but... wow. Just funny to me I guess. The 1985 Autobot cars have more progress than this, even! Red Alert, Inferno, Tracks, Grapple and Smokescreen are all in the building; leaving just Skids and Hoist to go.

Not to mention we still haven't gotten any 1984 Minibots - or any Minibots, even - beyond Bumblebee! Meaning we only have 8 Autobots out of a total 18 that the original 1984 cartoon and toyline had. For a line that's gone this long with a focus on the Season 1/2 characters, it's been very slow at getting us the original cast.

I still think the pacing of the line has everything to do with the licensing of the vehicles from their respective manufactures.

I feel that's certainly gotta be involved at some level -- if it's not the absolute reason, it's gotta be a big influence either way.

Another factor though I feel is that they're pacing their 'big hitters'. If, for instance, they got all the popular 1984 characters done first and then moved onto the 1985 characters; it wouldn't generate sales quite as much. Prowl and Sunstreaker are just bigger names than Skids and Beachcomber. Gotta make sure you save some popular characters like Jazz for later use rather than playing all your cards and only being left with Octane and Kickback.

Can someone remind me if the Takara MP11 reissue up on BBTS right now is like the original Takara release, with the glossy painted head, or like the Hasbro Asia version, with the matte plastic molded head?

Sorry for the late reply, I hadn't noticed this section getting updates.

william-james88 wrote:What if you want them to ship it all at the same time? Do you have a few days to lump in items together and then ship em all together?

Also, I dont see what you are talking about on the left to pick Sahra. Can you show a screenshot? Looking forward to seeing if I could get an MP Starsabre for a good price.

Unfortunately they don't hold items, probably because the Mandarake online store is made up of multiple B&M locations (except for SAHRA which is online-only like any other web store) and they just don't have that kind of space. Their auctions do give you a few days to pay and bundle, but you wont find many Transformers there.

SAHRA is there on the left, second option under shop.

Looks like at least to the US Star Saber can be had for ¥17,200 (US$156, CAD$198) or so, EMS shipping included, which is a good price. Not sure how high the actual shipping to Canada would be, you need to log in to find out.

nycPrime wrote:On my computer I scrolled down and saw other options besides Sahra. Some of the cheaper options was for heavily damaged boxes. I assume the item is still ok? For some things I don't care about the box.

Everything on the site is inspected for damage and authenticity. Know that box damage can also mean a small corner dent or a small scratch. They list everything as damaged to prevent people from complaining about boxes not being collector grade. Most of the "damaged" boxes I've gotten look no different from something found at Walmart. You can still order from the other shops, just remember that the item may not actually be in stock. It takes a couple days for them to check. Only SAHRA is instant since it's a modern warehouse rather than a physical location.

If it helps, that's the recent Takara Tomy reissue and I'm pretty sure they haven't made any changes to their Japanese re-releases.

nycPrime wrote:How do you know when shipping is included? I thought shipping was extra for everything.

It's never included, that's just me totaling the final price up (¥12,000 + ¥5,200).

To my knowledge, TT hasn't changed anything with their figures between originals and reissues. There was one, but it was Hasbro Asia (MP-11SW Skywarp).

If you want to see a review specifically of the recent MP-11 reissue, check these out:

Not really a rumor, but...

...I feel like I may have voiced this before, but I wanted a new Masterpiece Seeker mold. We have that with MakeToys Meteor, so that I'm not worried about that anymore. But what I still feel like we need, not necessarily right now but at some point, is a new MP Optimus.

...yes, I know, everybody and their mother loves MP-10, and I don't blame them. I have one myself, and it deserves a lot of the praises it gets. But...I feel like, despite how great it is, it isn't perfect. The articulation is a bit less than what I'd like, the transformation is somewhat clunky, and the aesthetic doesn't really match with the modern Masterpiece figures. But this hypothetical new MP OP wouldn't have to be too different from MP-10. It could use the same general frame, refine the transformation a bit, add a little more poseability, and smooth it out for a more cartoony look.

Does it have to be right now? No. Does it have to be an official HasTak product? No. But I feel like it should happen at some point.

I have said this many times, but MP10 is not Sunbow Prime. It is Japanese Headmasters anime Prime.

I think we'll get a new OP eventually. MP36 demands it!

As devastating as it would be to my wallet, I for one welcome any V2.0 figures they wanna give us. The line has been refined and has a clear directive now. Remaking Prime, Starscream, Sideswipe, ect, to suit said current direction would be wonderful.

Oh yeah, Sideswipe too! He needs a major overhaul. Or...does he? Could they just change a bit of the preexisting engineering? :???:

I guess they could do the Datsuns too, but I feel like they're pretty much perfect already. If anything, they could use a slightly remolded backpack to compress it a bit better. But they're fine as-is.

I think he is as good as can be, especially when we consider how much he costs. The value ratio is through the roof when it comes to that toy.

Part of me says sure, but after looking at MP-11... my heart screams nope, scratch build a new one! Besides, the magnificence that is Sunstreaker pretty much demands it.

The Datsuns are perfect. The car parts need to stay the same, as they need to stay real world accurate for licensing. And the robobits are smooth delicious cartoon accuracy. So they're good. ;)

We probably will. That said, unless it's an absolute stunner I'll still probably just track down an MP-10. He isn't 100% accurate maybe, but he's still gorgeous and IMO "good enough". Plus he'll go better with my Despotron than a theoretical new MP Prime.

As far as the others go, Sideswipe I suppose I could see the need for a new figure, but...eh. I'm happy with my G2 Sideswipe. As for the rest, the most I could see them needing is an MP+ redeco. Wheeljack especially looks perfect, all he'd need to fit in would be a new paintjob.

Agreed.
