I do wonder, after looking through the listing, if it comes with a trailer....I know the product features say trailer converts to battle station, but then I looked below:

"Box Contains
1 x Optimus Prime figure
1 x Autobot Roller
1 x Spike Witwicky mini-figure
1 x Energon
1 x Instructions"

Could the reason for the low price possibly be that there isn't a trailer included? I wonder if TRU's "exclusive" deal with Hasbro means that if MP Optimus is released in any other part of the world, he can't include all that the US/TRU release gets. I'm not trying to be a killjoy, but that price is too unbelieveable.

I know others have said that previous Masterpieces have been priced around the $50-$60 range, which is true. I know Rodimus Prime was $49.99, Grimlock was $69, and Thundercracker was (initially) $59.99. But Optimus is not only bigger than they are, he also includes more (Roller, Spike) and that trailer ain't cheap, either.

Australia got the full release. That being said, we paid two to three times as much as what this is.

Maybe, but I'm more interested in the cab/Prime part so even if the trailer is missing I'm not worried.
I didn't care if I didn't get the trailer with the Hasbro Rodimus so this wouldn't make a difference either....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transformers-Ma ... 115&sr=8-1

Product Features:

Trailer converts to battle station
Matrix of Leadership fits in chest
Energon axe snaps on
Trailer has storage areas for Ion Cannon and Energon axe
Ages 5 and up

It weighs 2.1kgs or 4.6 pounds. That tells me that the trailer would be inclusive. I'm more interested in the fact that it list batteries. I don't recall batteries being used.

You have to take into account that they were probably supplied those specs by Hasbro UK, I'm amazed they even know what a Transformer is sometimes...

Well I went ahead and ordered my own....Even if it only turns out to be Optimus by himself, I'll be okay with that. I'm just glad no scalpers got my money....got my first from TRU on a lucky order and now this one. Although it makes me wonder....if they can sell it in the UK for the equivalent of $55, why was it TWICE that much in the U.S.?

I'll have to be really careful what I buy from TRU from now on. I can remember MP Thundercracker being $59.99 to start, then when they see demand for it, raising it to $69.99, now it's $74.99. Similarly, MP Optimus was $99 to start, then $119, now $139. Seems TRU are as bad as scalpers when it comes to exclusives.

Supply and demand, if TRU see a demand they can make a premium for the item while that demand lasts, the once it dies down they can put it on sale.

If all this pans out, its about time the U.K. started seeing some love from Hasbro.
We have to wait forever to get Transformers released over here and then the prices are a little silly, especially when our U.S. cousins throw their hands up about paying $10/$13 dollars in a store for a Deluxe for instance when we have to pay an equivelant $16/$18 for the same item! ;)

Now give us the Blu-ray relase of Season 1 TF Prime already!

What the-?! :???: :???: :???: :???: :???: :???:

Looking at my bank account, under pending transactions, it says that Amazon UK only charged my card $1.61 USD (or, they will since it hasn't happened yet), despite the order totaling out to £34.11 GBP.

What's going on here?

Either your account is derpy, or Amazon Uk is feeling mighty gracious.

its just a pending transaction that wont go thru as its just checking / validating your card

the pending transaction will disappear later/soon

Okay, I asked around and someone told me that it was probably just a test transaction by Amazon UK to make sure that my card is legit. Once the real order kicks in, that $1.61 transaction should disappear and be replaced by a more appropriate amount.

And now we wait to see if Amazon will honour the pre-orders at the price they had MP-10 at. Hope so, being able to get MP-10 for that much would be like when MP-Skywarp was being sold for £20 in Argos several years ago.
With scalpers asking a small fortune for MP-10, well, much of anything really, then to be able to get a Masterpiece for a low price is a delight for those of us who can't afford the over the top prices that Takara and the scalpers demand as well as for those of us who have had to accept that Hasbro couldn't care less due to their obsession with milking Bumblebee to death.

Hopefully those of us who have pre-ordered MP-10 will receive our order at the end of the month, hopefully.

There are a couple of theories doing the rounds at the moment as to exactly what this stock is! Initially, a few people though it might have been the anniversary G1 re-issue or old stock of MP01 (or one of the variants) with an incorrect product description. But for this to have been the case, the description would have been so wrong as to even have the wrong item code (which, incidentally, matches the code used at SDCC), so that's probably not the case.

Another possibility is that this is actually either US stock or (please in the name of all that is sacred let it be this next option!) Japanese Takara stock that hasn't sold through in their respective territories.

A third (unfortunately quite likely) possibility is that TRU have received the stock, as Hasbro UK claimed they should have by now, but decided they no longer wanted to sell it through at retail and instead made a deal with Amazon, neglecting to inform Hasbro of this turn of events.

With a view to finding out what is happening, I emailed Amazon directly. I pointed out that Hasbro were still saying yesterday that TRU would be the exclusive stockists of this product in the UK, and that they were expecting them to be hitting the shelves very soon, even supplying the link to the Facebook conversation where Hasbro say this.

To their credit, Amazon emailed me back very quickly. They said that the product is not yet in stock at the warehouse, but they expect to start shipping them out to customers sometime between 30th Jan & 06th Feb. However, the lady who replied to me did say she was going to check with the buying team as she could see my point regarding the UK TRU exclusivity, and yes it was possible that it could be Takara stock. She also all-but confirmed that this is definitely a MP-sized toy, as she said the box was about 21 inches tall and weighed 2.1kg. Now, while this doesn't narrow down which Optimus Prime this listing relates to, it says that this thing is big, and having held on while I was in the US a couple of months ago, it sounds about right!

Anyway, I'll let you guys know if I hear any more!

I blame everyone who kept email amazon asking "is this right?" Should of left it alone and me might have gotten away with it! ;)
