I quite agree with you, just to be clear It's really tough to get super hyped for the future when it looks like endless variations of G1. Transformers has always remained compelling by not overstaying its welcome in one state or another, but PotP is dangerously close to just being CW + TR without bringing anything actually new to the table.

I think an auxiliary dinobot box set would be cool.
Grimlock -> Scorn
Slag -> Grimstone
Sludge -> Paddles
Snarl -> Slapper
Swoop/another remold of the others -> Skar

I really want to see another line get the Generations treatment.

I wouldn't even mind if it was "lazy" repaints/redecos.

Give me 2001 RID as Generations -

Optimus Prime from the CW Hot Spot mold
Ultra Magnus from the CW Optimus Mold with a trailer that can split into a powered up mode via the CW ports (you can then use these pieces on Optimus for Omega Prime)
T-AI from a Prime Master mold
Prowl from the CW Sunstreaker mold
Side Burn from the CW Dead End mold
X-Brawn from the CW Offroad mold
Fortress Maximus, Emissary, Cerebros as a repaint of TR Fort Max

Hot Shot, R.E.V., Crosswise, W.A.R.S., Ironhide, Mirage can all use CW molds too.

Or make new molds.

Love the idea for a dinosaur troop builder box set. For throwing out ideas, what about a seeker limb set — original season one trio in one box. Ramjet, Dirge, Thrust in a second. Sell it through BBTS/Target/Amazon. Heck, knock it up to a 4-pack with a light purple drone and a G2 Ramjet/Sunstorm/Acidstorm or such.

And yeah, I get your drift. Throwing us some rich story and deep lore aren't high on Hasbro's priority next to just plain ole toy sales.

Sigh. As 'lore', the IDW comic is always far enough off base from the original stories and characters that it's hard to reconcile to the original TV/comic stories... and for me to get too excited or deep into it. (e.g. personality swaps (megs is a good guy, arcee a killer) or off-the-wall changes (Prowl is Devastator, Sunstreaker a headmaster.) Of course, I know a lot of people love these new stories, but many of them rub me wrong and don't "feel like canon" to me.

BUT who knows. Maybe the comic will work something into the stories that gets the gears turning. I really am craving some idea-starters about matrixes and prime-masters to get the ole imagination kicking for this final trilogy.

That would be an awesome boxset! My wife would hate it cus I'd want to buy it. lol

Another idea, theirs a lot of G2, MW, BW2 jets, what about the idea of 3 combiners, use starsream, skywarp and thundercraker as the torsos?

I'd love some running-changes like this from Hasbro. Would be great to see some deep-dives into obscure lore like we saw from the club and Botcon. That's actually one of the top things I miss. The current theory is that Hun-Grrr has an alternate Strafe head mold, based on what little bit we could see of his covered head in his Hascon reveal.

Well, Hun-Grr does have some kind of alternate head mould. We'll have to wait and see what it is...

Considering how Hasbro seem very serious about 'brand identity' it seems odd we'd see yet another combiner component named Strafe, given the Technobot of the same name most likely take precedence in who gets the name.

But, hey, I don't think it will be a straight IDW lift if they do it. Maybe red, silver, and gold.

The big thing I see is that the movie character is winged.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see new Dinobots later in this line or red Swoop when they get to the waves where they reuse figures. Or maybe they'll do a CW style boxed set with, say, alternate Slug, Swoop, and Grimlock decos and a could of alternate Dinobots. G2 Dinobots boxed set with Sludge swapped out for Strafe?

Well, technically speaking, movie-verse Strafe barely count as a 'character'. I mean, I see your point, but I just don't really see a line-less living prop from a single Bay movie having precedence over G1 in the brand. Usually, it takes a lot more for a name to lose its association with a pre-existing character, usually because the character is pretty minor. Now, true, Technobots aren't huge but given we've just had Combiner Wars I find it unlikely we'd see the name reused within the line. Usually, name re-use are for new toys of the same character.

Maybe we got it all wrong and Hun-Grr is getting retooled into something else? Something we don't expect? Maybe some new combiner?

Fellow Seibertronian Powered Convoy has posted images comparing both Hasbro releases of Transformers Generations legends class Skrapnel / Shrapnel, the one from Thrilling 30 and the newly released one from Power of the Primes. Here we get a very good look at the differences which have been broken down by Twincast Podcast host ScottyP:

Out of seemingly nowhere, Hasbro Toy Shop has stocked the Wave 1 Prime Master figures for Power of the Primes! Thanks to a tip from Seibertronian mordhelm, we can confirm that Prime Masters Micronus, Liege Maximo and Vector Prime (with Decoy Suits based on Cloudburst, Skullgrin and Metalhawk respectively) are all listed on hasbrotoyshop.com, and can be Added to Cart and purchased at this very moment.

Each figure is listed at $4.99, a dollar lower than the price found in Toys R Us' database just over two months ago. Since the Prime Master class hasn't been discovered at any form of retail up until now, this is the first chance that collectors will have to grab these figures.

Seriously? You guys haven't learned after all these years that whenever Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock they only get like 2? And are sold out within a few minutes.

This same **** happened with Grotusque. The front page says IN STOCK, I race over to the site with absolutely no chance of the **** actually being IN STOCK. It's like you're trying to frustrate the piss out of everybody on purpose. Next time Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock don't even bother reporting it. Because it's going to be sold out by the time most people see it.
