Really? They are perfectly straight now and you did nothing at all? Well I opened mine up yesterday so I hope I get that same luck too.

I read or heard about boiling water but I really don't want to have to mess with that honestly. :VEHI:

Have you tried flipping the panel with the decepticon down when you put him in car mode? I found that helps greatly with clearance.

The shoulder fix helped me with transforming to car but it still feels like I'm forcing it a little at the end to tab the legs together. Like I'm literally squeezing it all together at the end until it all clicks. Not terribly satisfying.

I've had him out of package for at least 4 months and didn't do anything and they are straight. I don't remember how long it took them to straighten out, as I had the same thing happen a couple times in CW on the jets and they all came out fine too, so it was a non-issue for me.

Since we've been talking Punch/Counterpunch and how he ranks as figure of the year for some, I want to give my top 5 list of PotP figures for the time being, none of which will be figure of the year for me, but there were some good ones. Time will tell if they stay the same by the end of the year:

5) Punch/Counterpunch: fun figure, love the alt mode, and love the transition between robot modes. it's great to have the double spy here.

4) Blot: Best limb figure of PotP, and just so cute and ugly and fun.

3) Abominus: Best combiner we got (besides Defensor) in the scramble city style. Loads of fun, and overall really spectacular, with Hun Gurr's beast mode (really, just the legs) as the only real weakness

2) Battletrap: Great to have a duocon once more, and having it powerlinx style is pretty sweet with the 2 robots. Really fun, and very posable. Nearly #1

1) Rodimus Unicronus: The Rodimus mold is the best in terms of integration of smaller robot to Prime mode, it looks really good, posing is alright, but the deco and headsculpt are killer. This guy rules.

Yeah. The design is really good, and I love that HasTak keeps coming up with original and innovative transformation moves; but it feels like someone made a miscalculation along the way, or maybe the mold was a little crooked.

I still really like this figure and have a feeling it will be in my top five of 2018.

I think I may have misread your original issue. Flipping the decepticon symbol panel helps with clearance for pulling the whole shell together to form the roof and doors of the car, but if your problem was with the shoulders and the hood, then it won't help at all there.

Ranged weapons, do so! For melee like swords and whips, you should keep them standalone. :)

Speaking of Quintus, do any others have ones with loose arm joints on the Master itself?

Aw, but having alternate melee weapons for the suit's weapon modes would be half the point :-P
I'll have to check my Quintus

I have almost everything I want from the Power of the Primes toyline now, the only thing I still want is the Throne of the Primes Optimal Optimus (which I've pre-ordered from In Demand Toys) and possibly maybe Repugnus. So here's a quick summary of each figure I got from PotPie and my thoughts on the line overall:

Optimus Prime - the robot mode is fantastic, obviously not MP-10 quality but a good alternative for those who can't afford Masterpiece figures. The truck cab is bloody awful, but I love the transformation of the trailer into the main robot's body.
Jazz - a bit basic, nowhere near as great as the Reveal the Shield Jazz, but I like him just fine and he makes a decent Combiner limb. More than anything I'm happy to own the MAGA variant because of how silly that whole thing was.
The Dinobots - I ended up selling all of them because they sucked. The Combiner gimmick really lets them down, and I think they're a case of painstaking G1 accuracy not always being a good thing.
The Decoy Armours - Not quite as fun as the Titan Master vehicles, but I like the idea and it's good to see at least an attempt at new Pretenders. I have all eight, and I'd say I like Metalhawk and Bludgeon the most. It's a damn shame that Hasbro didn't make armours for all twelve Primes, I'm thinking Waverider for Amalgamous Prime, Iguanus for Nexus Prime and either Skyhammer or Longtooth for Prima would've been good and easy to do, but it is what it is.
Dreadwind and Blackwing - both good, fun Deluxe figures, great uses of the Combiner Wars Skydive and Air Raid moulds. They're also the only two PotPie Deluxes that, in my opinion, don't look awkward wearing Prime Armour.
Wreck-Gar - again pretty basic, not a stand-out figure. Some rust detailing would've been nice, but I'm guessing that wasn't in the budget  Regardless, I missed out on the Combiner Wars Groove, so I'm happy to own at least one version of that mould.
Blast Off - another solid figure, I like it a lot more than the original Combiner Wars Blast Off. I also like the clear red plastic on the Prime Master Megatronus a lot more than the dull grey on the Bomb-Burst version.
Elita-1 - she definitely wears the mould a lot better than Starscream, I can see the stickers becoming a problem a few years down the line, but overall I like her just fine and she's easily one of my favourite CHUG Voyagers. Elita Inf1nite is an okay Combiner, but probably not something I'll switch her into or display very often.
Punch - unfortunately my Punch did come with that upside-down shoulder joint problem, and while I fixed it easily enough...I shouldn't really have had to. Either way, Punch is a good Deluxe, the gimmick is done well and the vehicle is nice, but he doesn't quite live up to the initial hype surrounding him. I must also say the pale blue on his instruction sheet is a nice change from the usual red or purple.

In the end, I'm not 100% satisfied with PotPie as a toyline, while it did give us some good toys, there are a LOT of thing I would have done differently (releasing those cancelled Leader Prima and Megatronus toys for one thing...). I'd say it's my least favourite of the three Prime Wars toylines, but that's mainly because Combiner Wars and Titans Return were so great.

90% agree with you.

Nitpicking on my part

1. Optimus. Hate the hollow shins of Orion and the unpainted fist of the "Optimus" armor. WTF? Rodimus got painted fist and Optimus none?

2. Dinobots. I haven't transformed them yet to Volcanicus. Wish the combiner gimmick was ditched and all of them were kept voyager sized.

3. Elita and S/S feet, too big.

4. Why no Diver/Waverider Primemaster? The 'con PM shells outnumber the Autobots

5. Wished Metalhawk was painted gold. (Inner bot)

6. P/CP Voyager size preferably ( I know he's just the same sized as the original (hence nitpicking  )

I've got a few nitpicks for your nitpicks!

Getting all give Dinobots at voyager scale is just never going to happen. That's too many voyager slots, which are already very limited in any Transformers line, dedicated to one group. Hasbro wants variety on the shelves, so turning Swoop, Snarl, Slag, and Sludge into Deluxe combiner limbs makes a lot of logistical sense for Hasbro.

I'm assuming that you wanted the Prime Master inside the Metalhawk decoy armor to be painted gold, right, not the decoy armor itself, which is pretty much G1 acurate the way it is. The Prime Master inside is supposed to be the spark of Vector Prime, so I guess he's blue, not gold. If you want something for the inner robot of G1 Metalhawk, there's always the Titans Return version from the Chaos on Velocitron box set. Pair him together with the Power of the Primes Metalhawk Prime Master. You can even put TR Metalhawk's Titan Master in the PotP Metalhawk decoy armor and kick Vector Prime to the curb (or just find another use for him). In fact, I wish the Pretenders had been done as such, with Deluxe (or Voyager) sized inner robots, with Titan Master heads, that fit inside decoy armor based on the G1 outer shells, that convert into weapons to be held by the proper robots.

Why would you want Punch/Counterpunch to be Voyager sized? That's out of scale with the G1 cartoon AND with the rest of the toys. He turns into a car, so he should be a Deluxe figure like ALL THE OTHER CARS in Generations. He wouldn't be a very good "spy" if he turned into a GIGANTIC sports car that's not even street legal. ;)

Your thoughts on the POTP Dinobots are the opposite of mine, Munkky. I really like them. I don't think the combiner gimmick gets in the way at all, and I think the G1 accuracy makes them look great and it provides a bonanza of sculpted detail. And they all have decent articulation. The only one who doesn't improve hugely in articulation is Sludge.... and that's only because the original Sludge toy was kinda jaw-droppingly articulated for a G1.

Amalgamous would DEFINITELY have had Waverider if he'd had a regular retail release. He's a modified Micronus, and we know from Legends Grand Maximus that a Waverider/Diver cotool of Micronus' Cloudburst decoy armor exists, since a redeco of it as Grand's suit was offered as a "sufficient preorders" incentive (though the goal was not met in time, sadly)

I'm glad for PotP Jazz. Nowhere near as good as RTS Jazz, but sufficient to fill the Generations Jazz gap in my collection for now. And he also brings up to 3 out of 5 for the "Masquerade" quintet. Now we just need CW-style limb versions of Sideswipe and Windcharger.

Optimus... I don't have him, but I do want him. Albeit mainly for the Orion Pax robot mode and the cartoon-colors Matrix of Leadership.

I don't have Wreck-Gar either, and frankly would probably mainly want him as a repaint base for a budget CW Deluxe Groove because of what CW Deluxe Groove costs on eBay. I swear, part of me is hoping the second of third part of the WFC trilogy turns out to mostly just be Combiner Wars reissues/improvements because of what CW limbs go for on eBay.

I can tolerate the Dinobots but wish they were better. I do wish a few of them were Voyager sized, since I understand they couldn't make them all that big. Definitely didn't need the combiner gimmick. But being a G1 fan, I love the G1 style.

As far as the PotP Dinobots go, I think they're great and I don't feel the combining gimmick detracts from them one bit. If anything it adds additional play value, even if the outcome is a little derpy. The outstanding molding and decos are delightfully neo G1. Can we talk about the reverse painted clear, it's brills. I don't have any problems with the size classes they choose, they look good as a team and it works as a combiner. They're almost exactly what I wanted from new Dinobots ;)^

Overall I've been very pleased with the line. Form the wee Pretenders to the evolution gimmick it's been a fun line. It does feel like it was cut a little short though.

Pretty much sums up my feelings, and we know it was cut short since Hasbro decided to go from the 18 month/6 wave format to 12 month/4 wave format. Hopefully unreleased concepts will show up later.

I'm only waiting on Wreck-Gar because he's unavailable, and Predaking's price to go down, then my PotP will be complete.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. Almost finished up with PotP. I just found the wave 3 PMs this week, so that's nice. Wreck-Gar is still a soft maybe though. I'll see how I feel when I find one.

There is no evidence to show that POTP was ever meant to be more than a year long. It was not cut short. Hasbro planned this and WFC Seige years in advance, as Warden said in interviews.

An interview stated it was the higher-ups that pushed the debut of Siege forward, cutting into whatever was originally planned, and possibly budgeted, for PotP. The length may have stayed the same, but the content may have been cut.

An interview stated it was the higher-ups that pushed the debut of Siege forward, cutting into whatever was originally planned, and possibly budgeted, for PotP. The length may have stayed the same, but the content may have been cut.

Munkky makes me happy. Well, it help Optimal Optimus was my favorite toy as a kid so I've got some pretty heavy nostalgia goggles for such a ludicrous and bizarre design which somehow only got more bizarre thanks to (admittedly quite well implemented, all things considered) the new gimmick. :-D

Not only that but I found him at the very same Toys R Us that the original one came from. Finally: The translucent Prima that came with Punch (who is also great!) now reside inside Primal's Matrix chamber. Meaning his chest hold a translucent spark. We've come full circle in so many ways.

Hell yes.

AllSpark.com Interveiw with John Warden, Hasbro Brand Team at SDCC 2018

And the exact quote:

Q: {Fear or Courage}: Why was Power of the Primes so short compared to the other two parts of the Trilogy? Was this always the plan or did the cutoff take you by surprise?

A: PotP was short because they wanted to move to the new trilogy faster.

That at the very least suggests that the preliminary idea was to have PotP the same length as CW and TR, but in the end, the final decision was to have it a single year instead. But by no means was the decision made mid-way into planning it seems.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I don't know that reads to me like it was always the plan to have power of the primes line to be short, and to almost be a "best of" feel.
Guess we'll never know the full truth though. Imagine the outcry though if the Prime Masters were always designed to only have eight at normal retail
