Okay then, second question: will we ever find out if that Yokuryu head sculpt was something which ever got past concept art stage? Do we have a scrapped partial retool of Volcanicus-crossed-with-Abominus as Dinoking which got abandonned?

No harm done, just wanted to make sure you got back on track before anyone more official had a chance to complain.

I would prefer Monstructor over Dinoking, but I do believe that that tooling does exist and got scrapped, yeah. We already know it got past concept art, since we know the Wildfly/Yokuryu head exists because we saw it on a painted sample of Cutthroat at...I want to say NYCC, and Snarl had those alt mode guns from the Dinoking Stegosaurus. Hopefully it'll still show up later in Generations?

I'm more wondering at which point of the design process it got scrapped. That said, if he had been a boxset he'd have followed the 'pattern' of Combiner Wars in being a scramble city-styled reimagining of a six-man, Japan-only Combiner.

If we get a Star Saber later in Generations it will only make the lack of Dinoking more painful.

Oh, the Yokuryu/Wildfly got past the concept art stage alright. It was the head on the painted samples displayed at last year's NYCC.

I would speculate (and hope) more on Monstructor/Dinoking being "Coming attraction at an unknown date". After all, to do a proper job of it (unlike what happened with Generations Liokaiser) you would need a Deluxe size Slog/Kakuryu and Birdbrain/Rairyu that combined to make the torso. A bit of an unconventional design that would probably be released as a boxed set.

I would also speculate that Road Caesar (who is even more unconventional) might be planned as a set at some point. After all, PotP Jazz's car mode looks an awful lot like Braver's with that rear spoiler, and the ports designed to work with the Prime Armor hands and such would adapt well to the Brainmasters' shields.

Snarl's guns shown at HasCon were based on Bristleback's, who was turned into the Ankylosaurus Gairyu (the StegosaurusDoryu was made from Scowl, who looks like Blot). It's possible Bristleback is the second co-tool for Snarl, Sinnertwin being the first, but was pulled when the line was cut.

Did we ever get a further hint at who Hun-Gurrr's alternate head belongs to?

Lots of assumption about these characters being pulled when the line was cut. What's to say that they weren't reserved for a later date from the get-go?

Wouldn't that be an assumption as well though?

Two ways to settle it:

1) Ask someone at the next convention hasbro attends.

2) wait and see, but try to temper expectations so you are not disappointed with the result if it does appear.

Thanks! And here's the reason. I recently purchased a 3rd party "enhancement" product very well known and endorsed at seibertron.com

One portion of the set does not fit my PotP Grimlock. So, it is 99.99% okay except for the single part.

I emailed the company and told their consumer/customer support if it was intentional for part "X" not fitting. So she sent me to their "general" manager who emailed me back asking me if I bought one of them KO Grimlocks. He said he was just checking off the variables why the part didn't fit my item being a KO and all. That or he's blaming the customer for their product snafu.

Well, until he mentioned that and you gave me a headsup, I didn't know there's a KO PotP Grimlock.

I sent him my amiami "item paid confirmation" email.

The KO's are slightly oversized (like 25%-50% bigger I'm guessing), I felt I should mention that. As for the upgrade kit itself, further questions would be better off in the Generations Catch-All "3P" Upgrade Thread.

Endorsed at Seibertron? You mean in the 3rd party and knock off Forum right? Seibs himself doesn't care for anything like that.

Yeah, the deluxes are about voyager sized.

Which part isn't fitting? I'm assuming perfect effect? I know I endorse their products and the KOs of their products

Anyway, I've seen several reports of the pegs of the new PE PotP hand/feet being too large and either not fitting and/or breaking the hand/foot peg holes. A little 400 grit sand paper should do the trick

It is openly being posted in seibertron's forum.

I did not say it was a KO (I know Ryan's policy on 3rd party products of TF characters).

What I posted was that the company asked me if I owned a KO (which I don't, namely PotP Grimlock) which cary pointed out exists in rainbow colors and JZGR mentioned it being oversized which until now, I didn't know) being the reason why the part I called their attention "did not fit" my PotP Grimlock which I purchased from amiami.

The funny part is that it was immediately assumed I owned a KO.

Just to clarify, Are there KOs of PotP Grimlock "normal sized" too? For the company to have assumed that I might have owned one. Just to give them a little wiggle room for that assumption.

Yes, in normal colors. All PotP Dinobots, except Slash it seems. Easy enough to find on Ali. Probably on sirtoys as well, but I'm a fan of free shipping.

Hun-Gurr being moldmated to SnapTrap could work. That would be nice since it would mean work has already been done on developing the Seacons, the last of the "Scramble City" style teams awaiting a remake in the Combiner Wars system.

And I will indeed be waiting with cautious optimism. I don't think it's deluded to hope for it.

What probably is deluded is hoping for a reissue of Generations Metroplex that's been retooled to have Combiner Wars connection ports.

has had so many problems with distribution, even online.

Speaking of distribution, I was able to find ALL 4 deluxe Terrorcons at my local target, there was only around one or two of each of them, but they were there.

I was able to pick up Blot with my budget, but there was still no sign of Hun-Gurr anywhere, probably should have picked him up when I saw him with Elita-1.

No, he's mass retail in Japan. Looks like he does indeed come with the Prime Master so I guess there's now only two that wont be released in Japan. But what will the package look like?
