Without digging through 70+ pages of this thread, what main Decepticons are we supposed to be getting from this line? Not Predacons or Terrorcons but mastheads. Like, Megatron took a huge back seat in Combiner Wars and was premold of Blitzwing in TR. Galvatron got his own toy but Starscream and Soundwave kinda seemed to dominate the last two lines and still no word on a new Megatron? Seems strange to me.

I'll be surprised if we don't get a Megatron in some form in this line, even if it's some weird boxset recolour.

The leaks showed only the combiners we know of and starscream. There is nothing else known at the moment and JOhn Warden seemed to hint that Decepticons in the leader calss would be taking a back seat this time around.

They went out of their way to make the Decepticons not the main antagonists in the Last Knight not they aren't getting toys in the main line?

Still hoping for the Titan Class Scorponok that was promised but not holding my breath at this point.

The Decepticons have not been the main antagonists in the movie verse for 10 years now, the Last Knight didnt change anything.

I just meant they went out of their way to show how demonstrably useless they were in Last Knight. I mean, they kill Autobots, including Bumblebee, a known friend and ally, on sight but have a Decepticon prison for war criminals and monsters and they're willing to let them out unrestrained to kill Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Despite the efforts of Megatron, the Fallen , Sentinal Prime and the rest, the humans have been literally the only threat in the entire movie series thus far.

But I digress...

to be fair, TR Megatron may very well be one of the best Classics Megatrons we've gotten so far

That is very true. His botmode is definitely Megatron without being slavishly so. Combiner Wars almost seemed to try to hide that he didn't become a gun when in botmode.

To equilibrate with CW & Titans returns.

TR Leaders : 4 decepticons Vs 2 autobots
CW leaders : 5 decepticons vs 1 autobot.

Added to the fact they'll be also over represented in the titan class.

Decepticons :
- Devastator
- Trypticon
- incoming Predaking


Autobots :
- unconvincing Metroplex (not in the prime wars trilogy so if we're honest it shouldn't count)
- Unconvincing retool of Metroplex.


I think we can live without decepticons leaders for POTP, it's autobots's turn now.

Thinking of it this way, leader Optimus, Blaster and Rodimus are the only Autobots in that new leader scale, while the decepticons have the main seekers, the 3 phase sixers, megatron, and soundwave.

I purposefully left him and Magnus out of it since while they are leader class, they are not part of the Leader scale (aka, the cheap MP scale). Magnus and Jetfire are meant to be biger than them (as proven by MP Magnus being much much bigger) and therefore interact with the general GHUG Scale. Just like Kickback and Thundercracker both have legends class figures but are not part of the same scale.

There is no class between Leader and Titan at the moment so they went with Leader. Even if there still was a Supreme class, that's still too big for them. Leader was the only option.

Plus, that Ultra Magnus is awesome.

I am simply saying that toys being in the same class doesnt mean they share the same scale, or work together. Case in point all the toys below are legends class but they make up different scales:

sure I was just talking about the leaders agreeing with others on how one sided the battle was so far ever since they introduced this new affordable MP scale in Combiner Wars.

Btw if this whole early incarnation of a character to a later incarnation of one...ie...Orion Pax - Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal - Optimal Optimus..ect, then how come for Swoop we're just getting Swoop & not Divebomb - Swoop?

Plus Swoop has always looked like Swoop. It was only his name that he lost, not his look.

As for any versions of Megatron that turn into other versions, we quite simply don't know if we will get one or not. We don't know close to the whole PotP lineup yet, so a Leader Evolution Megatron actually isn't out of the question just yet.

That said, as a lot of the discussion above covered, Decepticons have been said to be taking a backseat in this line's Leader class due to their relative oversaturation in the last two lines. I'd estimate one, maaaybe two Decepticon Leaders in PotP (even two is probably unlikely) - and since there are so many other Decepticons that could work with the Evolution gimmick and haven't had Leader-class toys as recently, I'm assuming we'll see something more like Thunderwing or someone instead of another Leader Megs.

Not only this would work beautifully, it would be AMAZING!

Tbh id say that at least some of the TR leaders are 100% classics scale- phase sixers are normally pretty freaking huge!
Then again I'd personally say they could all happily fit with classics without any particular glaring issues, but the scale debate is one of the oldest and most subjective debates going
