Once it was made known that PotP for would basically be identical to , I've been wondering if online retailers would scale back their orders. It might take a few months to really notice a trend, but I am curious all the same.

I'm a huge fan of IDW Phase 2. Phase seems to be cool, as well and is partly neccessary to get contexts and background stories but too much to catch up with. I just read Spotlight Arcee and it's pretty good and I got some more background about her after Ironhidensh told me to go to Comixology. And I downloaded Spotlight Grimlock, too because I still don't know how and why he got seperated from the other Dinobots. I hope this comic will tell me.
So I can only advice you to get the comics (best way is online via Amazon and Comixology) and read them. They are awesome in general but way too much to tell the whole story/-ies appropriately.

Jesus when you think that's been forever now. The big grim needs to get back to the lads.

Part of me thinks Roberts doesn't want to focus on him too much due to him being furmans signature character. But maybe he just hates him ala the combiners

Nope, she doesn't and was never meant to. It's been said that her retool Cindersaur is for the Terrorcons, just to have 6-member Combiner Teams like in Combiner Wars.

I started the same but when I got on travels I couldn't take physical copies with me so digital ones were much more convenient AND cheaper. And I can buy new ones just on the go. So you might concider to switch

I really wish that Swoop was red, because of Takara using identical toys for their line of PotP means we won't be getting both a toy and cartoon accurate one. Red swoop also looks cooler than blue swoop, especially with the visor.

I'd like to get a visored and red Swoop, too but I have to say the eyes give him a lot of personality and the blue is a nice contrast. It also conects him with my AoE (Movie the Best) Strafe for my made-up evolution of him. Otherwise the visor would do the same.

Somebody way back mentioned Grimlock will be getting a recolor, and since we know so little about the back half of this line maybe we will get a red Swoop? I have no hopes and no idea but I would happily double dip if did a mainstream release. I also figure we'll get G2 Dinobots in a boxed set down the road like the other combiners, but again this is just speculation. I don't even know which Prime Masters are coming out in waves 2 and 3.

I'm actually the opposite, I don't think we'll get any more G2 releases in boxed sets. Most of them did pretty terrible, as evidenced by them showing up at Ross/TJMaxx/Marshals for less than 1/2 their original price. They just didn't move that well.

Being somewhat of a completionist, I would love to be wrong about this, but I think the poor sales of the CW boxed sets are what doomed the Titan Returns boxed sets to only 2. Also, If I recall correctly, Toys R Us was the primary outlet for the CW G2 sets, and they are in pretty dire financial trouble. To me, all the signs point to no. Agian, I'd love to be wrong.

What most likely happened (based on the stock imagery of the figure) is that Hasbro was originally gonna go with an all-toy-accurate deco (red chest and all), but at the last minute changed only the red chest to show-accurate blue, leaving the rest of the deco's toy-accuracy untouched.
