Yes, it's just a possibility.

Australian "Big-Box" Retail Prices for Transformers Power of the Primes Figures

Postby Qwan » Fri Feb 02, 2018 5:57 am

Motto: "There's no such thing as a no-lose situation, but if you try your hardest, you'll lose the least."
Weapon: Hand-Mounted Lasers
As Australian fans continue waiting for any figures from the new Power of the Primes line to arrive at major retailers (they've been marginally available at smaller specialty shops for a few weeks now), some appetite-whetting is in order courtesy for Ozformers' Facebook page - scanning photographed barcodes of Wave 1 Power of the Primes figures at price-check stations has revealed most major stores' pricing for these hotly-anticipated figures! While Big W and possibly Myer still appear to lack any entries in their system, prices were obtained for other major Australian 'big-box' retailers (Kmart, Target, and Toys R Us).

On average, the toys are priced as follows by major retailers, by size-class and rounded to the whole dollar:
    - Prime Masters: $9-10
    - Legends: $19-20
    - Deluxe: $29-35
    - Voyager: $49-50
    - Leader: $90
The only marked divergence from recent Generations prices based on this information lies in the Deluxe class, mirroring the recent price-increase seen with the Last Knight toyline: most stores appear to be pricing Power of the Primes Deluxes around $30 (as opposed to Titans Return's $25), while Target and Toys R Us further increase that number by an extra $5.

For the full by-store breakdown and explanation of exactly how these prices were obtained, check out the post on Ozformers' Facebook page! And while you wait for the first major Australian retail sightings to materalise (you can be sure we'll report on them as soon as they do!), why not talk about the tantalising toys in the Energon Pub Forum? Discussing is the next-best thing to owning, after all.

I’d like to think otherwise but probably not. That design has been in the game for a very long time and seems like a bridge between its G1 and Bayverse characters as opposed to a “generations” design.

Okay, maybe if there was a POTP Overbite toy in the works your argument might hold water, but as is, the Rippersnapper connecting is pretty far-reaching considering how little, if any, resemblance there is between the Sharkticon app game render and that Rippersnapper toy.

In bot mode they don't look similar but in beast mode the resemblance is their. And as I said it's just a possibility (for :HASBRO: to make more money :ic$:).

The beast mode is what I was talking about (since that's the pic you posted). But since you also admit that there's even less of a resemblance between the robot modes, well, that hurts your suggestion even more.

I'm with pretty much everyone else in thinking this has zero chance of happening. First and foremost because we just got a legends Sharkticon figure within the last year under Titans Return. This is just a Sharkticon, not Optimus Prime or Bumblebee, so appearing with a new figure in 2 consecutive lines makes no sense at all,
Second, it would make absolutely no sense to eat up one of the likely 8 remaining deluxe spots under PotP as a regular release. A boxed set wouldn't make much sense either, since I presume any of those would be filled with a combiner team. An exclusive (like May Mayhem or TRU Acree/Grotusque) doesn't really make any sense to me either. There are plenty of characters that are still in need of an update, that would make much more sense than something that has only appeared in a video game.

Does the CGI model have to be that dead on to the toy model? I mean the others (Generations characters) are but maybe it's a strategy to hide that a toy version will come so nobody's speculating if they should get Rippersnapper OR Sharkticon. Maybe Rippersnapper will become the Deadend and Alpha Bravo of PotP with Overbite, Sharkticon, maybe a Monstrutor member and Skalor recolors and retools.
But I didn't think about that too seriously when I posted it. It just seemed to be interesting. But we can dig deeper into this. I don't mind. I'm in ;)^

And maybe :HASBRO:'s using the game to test the public how they are reacting to it. If they should make that retool or not. And there might be enough characters in need of a new iteration but if :HASBRO: doesn't see enough potential profit in them...

Well, considering that visual consistency between toy and media is the very means by which toy promotion is even done in media tie-ins...

To me there is a big difference between a titan master or prime master release, and a regular transforming figure. If you can find any non-Optimus Prime (or other major characters) examples that are legends or larger, then we're talking the same thing.

I don't have the time or patience to navigate all the other quoting you did so here are some answers there.

Regular release - No crap, I know you didn't say it had to be, and neither did I. I gave the 3 most likely options for how they could release something with regular release being the least likely based on a lack of room. For the boxed sets, I don't see a TR style boxed set coming under PotP. Why would Hasbro make a boxed set with a combiner torso (Voyager) and a single limb (Deluxe), then add a Leader, Legends and prime master? That just doesn't make sense. Exclusive would make the most sense, but again, who exactly (besides you) is clamoring for a deluxe Sharkticon which would only match a video game and not any other previous fiction, especially knowing the tendencies of the current design staff.

None of it makes any sense to me.

Look at those crazy Austrailian prices on POTP figures. But thats all on the government and and the greedy corporations that sell imports on the island. It doesnt cost any more to put stuff on a boat and sail it to Australia as it does to put something on a boat and sail it to America. They call them "imports" and slap them with taxes that allegedly raise costs and force jacking up the price just to make any profit ? That sounds like a government issue to me. Do they take advantage of anything that comes off a boat from China, or just toys? Does a toothbrush or a bar of soap cost $10 ? Does a toilet brush or a broom cost $25 ? WTF is going on down under ?

Rated X wrote:Look at those crazy Austrailian prices on POTP figures.

And here I was thinking the UK prices were rubbish (let alone the problems with distribution) but I now feel very sorry for burn.

PotP G2 Swoop and G2 Sludge would be easy to do, given only one deco each. But Slag and Snarl have two (red and green), while Grimlock has three total (turqoise, blue, yellow tiger stripe). Choices, choices...
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

According to Twitter user Jason Rye, the previous port meant that the wings/back did not connect fully to the body, which also affected the jet mode.

In the new version, which sports batch number 73101, the port features a cut, and the whole assembly is more slanted, improving stability and appearance in both robot and jet mode - supposedly also to be found in the next use of this mold, Elita-1, coming soon in a later wave. You can take a look at the comparison images below: first is the old run, next is the change.

Seems like Hasbro as fixed #Swolescream I found a retooled one with the batch number 73101 with a retooled post (now with slots) on the back that allows for everything to peg together correctly
Going pretty far back here, I know, but wanted to post that I found one with this same batch number today and it is exactly the same as my earlier one with no extra slot cut into that peg hole. Ymmv I suppose?

Screw the number. If you use the light on your cell phone you can see the slot from the top of the box through the clear plastic. I found my replacement last week and did the old switch-a-roo.
