I don't know if you remember, but remember when 4chan had a picture of Powercore Combiner Huffer, only the card art, and this picture was accompanied by a totally accurate description of the entire line, months before it was formally debuted?

Yeah, this was essentially what I meant. As incredibly stupid as this sounds, considering it is a defense of 4chan, it's not like everything that comes from there is or has been proven wrong. While they certainly do produce more than their share of BS, they are also correct often enough that saying "this is most likely incorrect" is not really correct itself. Sometimes they're wrong, sometimes they're right; sometimes they're just making things up. Not every unfounded report will prove true, nor will they all automatically prove false.
But in the grand scheme of things, Seibertron.com has also occasionally reported or presented information that turned out to be incorrect or totally made up*, so none of us are perfect. 4chan's figure list doesn't seem so impossible or unlikely, given what Titans Return as a line focused on character and gimmick wise, so I think an outright dismissal of the 4chan list is a bit premature.

EDIT: *guess I should add a "without knowing" or "unintentionally" to that before someone gets all crazy and thinks I'm an asshole, again.

I'm more excited for POTP Main line. Snapdragon and Apeface will get Voyagers and Grimlock a Leader. I hope we get more Dinobots, Star Saber, Dai Atlas, and a few Primes but maybe some of that's wishful thinking.

I have given the idea of a Beast Wars Subline some thought and yes I'm fine with general Beast Wars like stuff - for example if at some point in the future they were to make Original Mechaniodal Beast and brand them as such -I'd not mind - as it could be shown as not the "actual" Beast Wars but more like the Beast Planet in Transformers Cybertron.

I'm fine with that but also something decorated like Cybertron Snarl (perhaps using the Wolfwire mould suit me well too.

Perhaps also taking some inspiration from the Like of Thunderhoof in RID-201X and developing them into Beast Wars style Characters too.

Alpha Trion as Nemesis Breaker / Black Lio Prime or Galva Lio Convoy would be terrific - but frankly I'd rather like to keep the Titan Master on that one.

The idea of removing them at all to me is a disadvantage as it fits the theme just fine to keep them I feel.

The Beast Wars sub-line they want to make isn't likely to include much of actual Beast Wars toys.

But if they did find the mould are still usable on some here is some ideals that would appeal to me.

Tigertron in Airazor (or orange Tiger Colours / bit of both)
Fuzors in the opposite animal colours (where appropriate)
The Heralds of Unicron (Armada style) in Unicron/Cheetor colours - and likewise the Blendtrons.
A Universe style version of Rampage to match the Universe Depth Charge (possibly in some sort of dark imperial colours) .

I don't mind general repaints on the animal Titans Returns toys as the likes of say Leo Breaker too.

As someone who does browse 4-chan while looking for rumors for movies/games I can say that while it's common to find lies it's not exactly rare for someone to be telling the truth when it comes to leaks.

For a bunch of reasons I'm 100% positive that if this news is accurate this is a different Primal figure from the one in the voting. First off that is for a Beast Wars line and the poll was for a Power of the Primes figure. Then there's the fact that the version shown in the poll was for the furry original Primal while an Apeface retool would have to be based on a Transmetal version. And finally the Primal from the poll is supposed to be a major part of the PotP story line, they aren't just going to shuffle him off to be an exclusive somewhere. And before anyone can say they wouldn't do Primal twice at the same time, they did just that during the 10th Anniversary when they did the Ultra repaint with Megatron as well as the new mold Deluxe which was also used in the Cybertron line. All three the same year.

I'm the other way, I'm grateful this is potentially an online exclusive, there are so many benefits to it. Online exclusives tend to linger longer than they do in stores, stores only get a small allotment at a time and don't always restock when they're gone so you have to move fast. Stores don't usually let you pre-order or hold your figures, but Amazon and BBTS will. Plus not all of us have ready access to a local store, but we can all go online.

If this is true, I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's always good to get more Beast Wars figures, while I don't mind them being online exclusives, it would be a shame if there were no original moulds. That being said, as others have said in this thread, I'd be down for a BW Scorponok from the Robots in Disguise Warrior mould. Not to mention I like the sound of that Leader Grimlock the 4Chan post mentions.

So I had been thinking about PotP and the potential beast combiners that are rumored. We all know that Hasbro pretty much needs to retool/repaint characters to make it work. So the beast combiners we have are:

Predacons (Predaking)
Terrorcons (Abominus)
Seacons (Piranacon)
Pretender Monsters (Monstructor)

I am going to (partially) leave the Pretender Monsters out for now, since they might be more difficult (6 same size bots).

Predacons:
Razorclaw - Lion
Headstrong - Rhino
Rampage - Tiger
Tantrum - Water Buffalo
Divebomb - Eagle

Terrorcons:
Hun-Grr - Two Headed Dragon
Blot - Mole Monster
Sinnertwin - Two Headed Dragon
Cutthroat - Hawk Monster
Rippersnapper - Limbed Shark

Seacons:
Snaptrap - Snapping Turtle
Nautilator - Lobster Thing
Overbite - Limbed Shark
Seawing - Manta Ray
Skalor - Limbed Coelacanth
Tentakil - Walking Squid


Let's assume that the Predacons will be the typical 5 bot team (1 Voyager, 4 deluxe) as well, since I highly doubt we would see a 5 Voyager or larger team any time soon.

Deluxe Molds
Divebomb->Cutthroat - this one is pretty simple I think, you would just swap color palettes and remold the bird beak for each
TR Weirdwolf->Rampage - Aside from switching it to a CW-style port and head, and switching the wolf head for a tigerhead, not much else is needed, oh maybe updating the legs to be blocker and connectable so it can be an arm
Headstrong->Tantrum - These two are close enough that one could be a retool of the other, just swap the beast head and bot head, change out weapons, etc.

At this point, we have filled out Predaking, only using 2 unique molds. We have also started on Abominus

Rippersnapper->Overbite->Skalor - These 3 basically transform into the same creature. Rippersnapper could be the base version, with more curved beast mode, and overbite and skalor would just be slight retools. Maybe Skalor could be mostly a repaint of Rippersnapper to keep things simpler.

Blot - This is a tough one, the only thing I can think with Blot is that he could be a precursor to some of the Pretender Monsters. Specifically Slog, Scowl, or Icepick since they all have similar beast modes

Doublecross->Sinnertwin - Much like Weirdwolf, I think this mold can lend itself to becoming a CW-style character with minimal alterations.

*Option B: Rampage->Sinnertwin - New model with Rampage as the base model, and Sinnertwin being the second use, swapping out the Tiger head for 2 dragon heads.

Abominus is now completed, with 2 new molds, both of which can be reused.

Piranacon is probably the most difficult. Let's see...
We already have Overbite and Skalor.
Nautilator->Tentakil - Basically we will start by creating Nautilator. Tentakil could share the transformation, and turn the legs into tentacles, and the pincers become Feet. Basically flip Nautilator upside down in beast mode to create the Squid mode.
CW Strafe->Seawing - Adjust the wings to be the manta fins, remove the guns and make the front a face.

Now, as a bonus, how could we create Monstructor:

Let's take some liberties with size...
Wildfly from Divebomb/Cutthroat - this one was obvious
Scowl and Icepick as simple retools of Blot - since they are just limbs it would just be simple panel reshaping, no engineering adjustments.
Bristleback could be another Rampage retool, or a retool of Headstrong/Tantrum - Either way works.

Birdbrain and Slog are typically the torso. Birdbrain is an Alce (wingless griffin), so this lends itself as a retool of Razorclaw. I think it should be a bit more extensive of a retool. Removes the combiner head, and opens up so that Slog can form the head/upper torso.

Slog would be a big retool of Blot where, instead of the combiner peg, he houses the combiner head, and becomes an upper torso to Birdbrain.

The other thing I could see as a possible way for Monstructor to exist would be a new intermediate size class between Deluxe and Voyager. Sell Slog and Birdbrain as a 2 pack at Leader price.

Or, Birdbrain is a moderate retool of Razorclaw, and Slog gets relegated to Legends class as a torso.

In terms of likelihood of happening in the PotP line I am thinking:
Predacons - Highly likely
Terrorcons - Moderately likely
Piranacon - Maybe only as a box set
Monstructor - Unlikely, and only as a box set

I've been thinking the same thing!

The twist I can see on what you've lined out is the missing Dinobots. They've skipped them for the last few toy lines, and being such popular characters — and after seeing fan combiner modes on various forums — I can see them shoe-horning a new combiner into the mix with this series. Those could contribute to the various re-tools, not to mention a retool/repaint into Dinoking. (could be a few simple add-ons for add on weapons to get them more in line with the cartoon look ... and new robot heads, of course.)

This thought makes Monstructor much more likely in my book. I'd see Dinoking being a Japan only exclusive, and a Dinobot combiner and Monstructor being geared for USA release.

I would like to see an all-voyager G1 Predacon group. It would make Predaking bigger than the traditional gestalts but still smaller than Devastator.

I guess it's too much to ask that we get scale-accurate Dinobots.

I'd fall of my chair in shock if they made a leader class Sludge/Slog.

They could do Swoop as a Deluxe though.

There was a substantiated rumor that we were getting a leader Grimlock. Really I think I would have rather had Sludge be the big one of the team, but here's hoping we can get some teams like that. I'd love the same for dinos and preds... Leader plus 4 voyagers for a great upscaled combiner almost as big as Devy.

No one says that we won't get multiple Leader sized Dinobots. Maybe PotP has 2 Leader Dinobots and 3 Voyagers. And then the boxset exclusive dinobot could be Leader Paddles!

That's a nice surprise, I was expecting SDCC to just be Titans Rturn Wave 6, and everything related to Power of the Primes would be saved for Hascon, but it looks like we won't have to wait as long.

I'm not surprised we're going to see power of the primes stuff. I just don't think we'll see a lot of it. Personally I think we're going to see the final wave of Titans return, official reveal of the clones 2 pack, the fate of the other 2 box sets, MPM-05, half a wave of potp, and probably another silhouette a la overlord.

I'm glad they're doing a Q&A this time. A lot of fun speculation happens after those.

They have a couple of Cartoons on the boil that they barely mention perhaps Hascon will show or say something about them.

I hope for a WWII Bumblebee toy reveal too.

I've been hoping that they would wrap up Titans and Combiners and the TFTM movie lineup (headmaster Arcee, hellooooo) ...

and THEN give us a great, solid, fully-explored crossover with GI Joe/Mask. I'd love to see a full lineup of WW2 based vehicles... and/or modern day... or futuristic sci fi (HISS tanks)... and ESPECIALLY some meched out vehicles with missile batteries and launchers all Battletech looking.

Could even have a movie or two with it.

But yeah. I love the sound of it.

Are we even sure if the Combiners are going back in this sequel? Curiously asking thou.

And although I missed Beast Wars for the most part, I wouldn't mind seeing more beasts in PotP....

While we certainly don't have any confirmation that Combiners would come back, the fact that we have been missing such characters as the Dinobots and all CONSISTENTLY beast characters (including the four or five combiners)... and seeing that there have been hints at combiners coming with the lion mode Alpha Trion with combiner ports, etc. I'm personally banking on it.

Another telling thought is that they've pretty well used up every other character through G1 history. They plugged through G1 in CW, the entire movie, and headmasters... even a few victory characters. Looking at what's leftover, it makes good sense.
