The Deluxe certainly was I'm not sure about the little Legends/Cyberverse/whatever version. I imagine P/C will be the same way. I'm thinking he'll be a massive retool in the same way as Grotusque out of Twinferno where the only recognizable parts were the legs. Jazz could work, but as he is his windshield will be in the way of his Counterpunch head and the hood coming down over Punch's chest would be very inaccurate. Maybe they could use the hood to make Punch's arms and then the existing Jazz arms for Counterpuch with the hood forming shoulder pads. Could work, but they'd have to be very creative.

Can't wait to get my hands on that Optimal Optimus. Not sure how easy it will be. I do know the transformers section of the toy aisles for all the Target's and Walmart's have gotten really slender since the last of the movie toys are pretty much all gone. They are pushing the Studio Series pretty hard but not stocking new POTP stuff or even restocking what they had.

I was willing to forgive the lack of munky mode for him because I thought he'd look good in spaceship/surfboard/slab mode, but no. It was just Primal folded up, with his giant backpack forming the front half. I was then willing to forgive THAT if Primal himself looked great and integrated into OPOP more, but double whoopsie. Primal only looks good in front, nowhere else, and he is only just a backpack for basically all modes. The cockpit can't fit a Titan/Prime Master, his weapons look awkward, and Optimal Optimus' munky mode only looks great with Primal integrated to it.

All that said, he's not a bad figure. He is definitely not perfect, but good. I like him. Is he worth retail price? For me, no. I might get him if he goes on sale though. For extreme BW fans though, I guess you'd probably like him.

I am not a BW fan. But will still get him. Btw bro, almost ALL TFs look like slag at the back and still look kick azz(and have awesome game play too)

Once you get them in hand, your perspective of him will change. Take PotP Optimus, don't even look at his back but Orion Pax as an individual is an awesome figure(just don't look behind  , same with the "evolved" mode., just avoid putting too much looking behind.

I'd imagine the same too for this munkee jet.

I agree with you completely. I mean, I don't even mind POTP Rodimus' backpack for Primus sake! I really like Optimal Optimus, he's cool looking and to have waist articulation on a gimmick filled Hasbro retail figure is unheard of. It's just Optimus Primal himself. That backpack is way too big for me. Everything else though, is fine except that I can't put a Titan/Prime Master in the cockpit. Now, I thought about it, and I might actually get him at full retail price. He's still the best Leader of this line, so I think he's worth it now. That should mean something because I'm not a BW fan

Do what others have done and knock off the pin, allowing the Optimal Optimus part of him to retain most, if not all modes. Oh and it gives you a bonus cybertronian mode 'actionmaster' Optimus Primal too.

As for getting him full or half price, again, good luck with that given how "efficient" HB is distributing these guys.

Legion: new mold, but thought to share transformation design with Roadbuster (the car roof works differently tho)
Deluxe: extensive retool of AoE Lockdown
1-Step: retool of AoE Lockdown, keeps the original's model
3-Step: retool of AoE Lockdown, keeps the original's model

Back to the point, exclusives are redecos/retools most of the time, but unique molds have been made for that purpose like the Clones, especially during the movie lines. Also, previously canceled toys have been repurposed as exclusives, like during Animated.

So anything's possible with C/P and Repugnus given past trends, though the chance of them being retools is still higher than them being new molds.

"Firestormer" is implied to be what Hasbro was gonna go with had they released Inferno back in Combiner Wars. ;)

Similarly, I just assume that Starscream is "Megascream," again, based on reference to sources of Transformers fiction. In Megascream's case, the name comes up in the IDW "Deviations" Transformers one-shot. I believe "Firestormer" was mentioned in the "Masters and Mayhem" story by the now defunct TFCC (Fun Publications). I don't think we have any torso with an unnamed combiner mode at this point.

Sorry to bring this topic back up, but does anyone know where wave 2 deluxes and voyagers actually went?

I see the usual 3rd party amazon sellers have then for double to triple price.

I never saw them in any NW ohio store, and they appeared once at various stores in SE michigan, then huge restocks of wave 1. I snagged them when I saw them, so I am not concerned for myself, but something is definitely weird this time around.

This has never happened with an early Generations wave before to me.

I wonder if anyone could press on the hasbro guys at SDCC as to what the difference is, especially since a lot of the local store shelves are empty of generations figures.

Too bad they didn't reuse Infernocus for Inferno. That's pretty sweet.

That may stick as my headcanon name for him, kind of like "Finish Line" is for Loud Pedal. (You know, because the original exclusive was from Finland.)

The short theory of it is that Wave 2 was produced in too low numbers compared to Wave 1, and thus "sold out". Not to worry, Hasbro has confirmed in a Facebook post that Wave 2 will reappear in stores this summer.

It happened a bunch with Titans Return. I even wrote an article about it when people were struggling to find wave 2 https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... der/36511/

Wave 3 was a blip on the radar and then everyone had to wait 2 months for more. Wave 4 was also a blip with no restock and most places skipped wave 5 and went straight to another small blip for wave 6.

And thats not even the worst. I know you mentioned generations but at least generations was 100% accountedfor in some small capacity in the US. The TLK and RID lines of last year still have prducts the US never saw, as can be seen here:

https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... ail/40999/

So no ths is far from being the worst its been for distribution. At least wave 2 saw some distribution even if small. And remember, this is not an early generations wave. With there only being 3 waves of new figures at all classes, wave 2 becomes 2/3 in for the majority of the line.

That said, I did find a restock of Titans Return deluxe figures at my nearby Kroger. Weird mix of waves.

For what it's worth wave 4 was actually fairly easy for me to find. Wave 5 and 6 were needle in the haystack for sure.

I just hope I am right with my assessment earlier that the reason they are doing less figures is to release more revisions end of year so there is a second chance at all the figures.

I was lucky for wave 2 being in the right places at the right times. I live in the Chicago area and found the wave 2 legends and deluxes at Walmart when they were first being reported as out (Jan/Feb?). I travel a bit for work and was fortunate to find the prime masters in southeast Michigan at a Target in March, and found Rodimus Unicronus at a Walmart in Shreveport, LA the same month. I haven't seen any of them a second time until just recently seeing an Alpha Trion prime master at Walmart this week.

Any way you look at it, something weird happened with Wave 2. There is no way they ran a normal production run and sold them all out that quickly, unless one (or more) of the retailers has a giant supply in a warehouse waiting for all the wave 1 shelf warmers to be bought, which I highly doubt.

That is why I'm glad I jumped on the BBTS preorder for everything I want from wave 3 at just slightly above retail and super cheap shipping (except for Monkey Prime). If I do luck out and find them in stores, I'll just cancel the preorder. Monkey Prime I'll hope to find in stores, but if not, I'm okay with skipping him.

I was just browsing on HTS and noticed they now have placeholders for Wave 2 Deluxe and Legends Class, as well as wave 3 Legends Class. Of course none of these are in stock, but it may be something to keep an eye on. Here's to hoping its not another case of, they come in stock in the middle of the night, and are sold out in a couple hours.

Optimal just showed up in my mailbox.

20180620_204217.jpg

Man, this is the best potp leader, if not the best potp at all.

I don't understand all criticism about him.
He is not perfect, he suffers all the current hasbro issues : stickers, hollowness.. but it's not specific to this one, it's the current description of hasbro releases.

But outside than that ?

I've the feeling the BW fans who made fun about Geewun guys are just being the same now, they complain not because it's a bad figure, but only because it's not the same as the old one they got during they childhood.

Yes, it's not the old toy, it's a new interpretation of Primal. An interpretation I love a lot.

Optimus Primal does not transform to an ape, but into a shuttle. Is it a problem ? It looks like a bit the classic "truck no monky" but in reversed state from BW fans. "monky no shuttle".
We already had several interpretation of the classic primal who turn into a gorilla, the Cybertron one, the robotmasters one, repainted and re-released several times, and the original one which was already very good, retooled recently for show-accurateness.
After all that did we needed another new version of it ? getting his cybertronian form is a good idea, I always regretted to not have the fantastic 2006 botcon set for that, so it's a good alternative.
Ok this shuttle mode is far from being perfect and I would have been very critical if it was a standalone deluxe release, but itsn't, he's supposed to combine with his armor, so compromises are always necessary in this kind of case.
Then we have the gorilla. Best potp armor until now. Orion and hotrod's armor do nothing. They're either armor or trailer, not even a base mode. Here the armor is independant or cna be merged in several ways.

Let's compare,

Orion/Optimus :

- Cab
- Cab + trailer
- Orion
- Optimus.

Primal/Optimal :

- Shuttle
- Gorilla
- Armored Gorilla
- Surfing Gorilla
- Plane mode
- Optimus Primal
- Optmal Optimus.

Clearly not the same play level.

Tell me it's not the best looking Leader of Potp:

20180621_190513.jpg

And I've read that Warden team did terrible job because they hate beast wars ? I don't even understand how can people can say this kind of things when a same toy merges Classic Primal and Optimal Optimus while even have some time to hommage Transmetal Optimus.

Get him. Period.

Let's compare,

Orion/Optimus :

- Cab
- Cab + trailer
- Orion
- Optimus.

Primal/Optimal :

- Shuttle
- Gorilla
- Armored Gorilla
- Surfing Gorilla
- Plane mode
- Optimus Primal
- Optmal Optimus.

[/quote]

You missed some...
Optimus/Orion
-Can roll out

Optimal
-Can't roll out (The whole point of him having Optimus Primes spark)

Pretty sure the transforming g1 toy primes had their truck modes... nice that he has a new toy but still an easy pass when the old figure is usually findable cheaper, has electronics, fires missiles plus all of it's modes so the play value is comparable. Hope it sells well all the same, might get more beast wars stuff but figures that don't have all their modes isn't something I want to see in any line with todays standards.

You'll remember from this much discussed news story from back when about the Transformers Power of the Primes toyline that not only are we getting - allegedly - the Takara Tomy Unite Warriors version of Blast Off in the POTP line, but that it also comes with Prime Master Megatronus, the big baddie himself.

Thanks to site sponsor Robot Kingdom, we now also know that the little dudeicus that forms Bruticus will be shipping come July 2018, and that pre-orders are now open with some limits depending on the source that you will use to acquire the figure - in this case, three per buyer! Take a look at the not image below (only used for reference), compare it to previous material, and join the conversation in the Energon Pub.

Product Code: E1796AS02
Availability:Pre Order
US$ 29.90

Product Description:

Preorder. Start Shipping on 1st July 2018.

***Limit to 3pcs per person, repeat order will be refunded.''
***Photos for reference only, exact product appearance is subject to manufacturer final confirmation.***

I'd swear that it is a black and white shuttle peeking through that purple crayon. Putting it out there so I can say "I told ya so" later.

Blast Off is an easy pass. I already have the UW Blast Off, and Ill wait until PM wave 3 Bomb-Burst to get Megatronus.

I still don't quite get Hasbro's strategy. I guess now we know they wanted to do 3 exclusives basing one on each of the previous lines

Blast Off representing CW (though he comes with Prime Armor and a Prime that's already getting a release..?)
Repugnus representing TR (comes with a TM, makes sense...)
and Punch/Counterpunch representing PotP (coming with Solus, a new exclusive Prime)

So...What does Leader Nemesis Prime represent? Deluxe Wreck-Gar? or are these just "more" exclusives? Also...how are Amalgamous and Nexus going to be released?

Part of me still hopes the 4 remaining Primes that don't have pretenders will still get a standard release, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak
