Up until now, there hasn't ever been any real indication in the show that the Predacon is a Transformer. It hasn't even been called "Predaking" yet.

All the show has ever shown us about this creature is that it's the clone of an ancient Cybertronian dragon-like species and has shown hints of having a bit of a higher intelligence than it's let on to have.

I think there's been more than a hint. I don't recall what episode it was (but it was one of the last two) where Predaking notices Starscream entering in the access codes for the sensor arrays...then in the last shot of the episode, Predaking approaches the control panel and enters in the access code himself. That, to me, doesn't seem like the work of a beast who has very little higher intelligence. He knew exactly what he was doing and how to get it done.

Or the Prime show isn't as successful as we think? I don't really know the Nielson ratings or whatnot for the program.

It's not that they're cutting the show short, rather, it's that 65 episodes was their desired goal for this show since before its creation. That it's ending at episode 65 is merely a sign of them making their dreams for the series a reality, coming to fully meet their long term goal after all.

Plus, there's the "Predacons Rising" epilogue movie coming after the finale, so we have that to look forward to as well.

Plus, this might be a case of Unicron Trilogy, three shows that are meant to be part of one consistent narrative under different names to keep toystores happy and interested.
Just since it's all handled in house now, it'll actually be consistent.

That counts as a hint. I did say "hints" not "hint", as in more than once has he shown signs of being smarter than he's let on to be.

did anyone notice that Shockwave has his cannon on his right arm in the promo? I thought that he replaced his left arm with the cannon because of what happened in FoC.

My best guess would be Hasbro Mirrored the video, because they are normally pretty good with the animation errors

I suppose it could but very unlikely, and its not like he had an extra arm his size considering most Autobots and Decepticons departed Cybertron, and in every episode Shockwave has appeared in he had his gun as his left arm

Still, Shockwave was on Cybertron for thousands of years. Plenty of time to make some modifications to his arms.

Ok I give up on the Shockwave not being able to replace his arm while on Cybertron, but it seems he didn't bother to replace his arm, but rather get his giant gun replace his arm.

What's funny is that, after replacing his arm with a giant gun, he replaced the giant gun with an even bigger giant gun.

You'd think as a scientist if he could have both hands he would want both.

If his toy was like that I would have bought like 3 of them and not one.

Or maybe, he really only has one normal gun, but Shockwave is so badass and scary that science just sciences itself for him.

But, if there's an actual arm inside, then doesn't that kind of destroy the point of there being a cannon in place of the exact same arm that Grimlock tore off and ate? I mean, if he had the choice, why isn't it on his right arm?

Maybe Shockwave is right-handed and thus needs his right hand for working with, making his left arm relegated to less important matters like shootin' stuff.

We have seen Starscream receive a new arm in the show, so I don't think it's implausible for Shockwave to have one as well.
