I'm hoping to see this guy at a normal price in the toystores. He looks good. Any word on how much of a rubberfest he is?

A word came to mind when I see this...Fail !! Here's why :-

1) Back-kibble : Seriously so the cockpit just simply sit at the back with the front part folded? Wow...Lame -.-...

2) Feet-kibble : It looks horrible...And here I thought Deluxe DOTM Starscream's chicken feet was bad -.-...

3)Bony ribcage : Gotta admit with Sabrblade on this one. That chest looks...In every way possible...Ugly >.>...

4) Scale : Wow that guy is huge. The only way they can fix this if they give us Leader Megatron. But other than that...Fail.

5) Translucent plastic : I thought this guy can pull it off like Voyager Megs did but apparently I thought wrong. It looks simply horrible @_@...

6) Secondary weapon : I dont give a **** about the mechtech weapon but they even manage to screw up the secondary weapon. That missile looks small as hell. G1 Starscream would laugh his ass off if he sees this lol.

But just like all crappy toys, there's some merit if not atleast a few :-

1) Headsculpt : That headsculpt is gorgeous ! The only thing it's missing is some red paint.

2) Jet mode : That jet mode looks beautiful compare to FE Starscream's jet mode.

But that's it. Sure he have an awesome alt mode and epic headsculpt but that doesnt justify spending 35 dollars on this guy. Pass.

PS : And yes you read my comments right. Here at Malaysia retail price of Voyagers is 35 dollars. Sigh and here you Americans claim it's expensive to collect TFs nowadays -.-...If I were at America I can literally buy an extra Deluxe everytime I bought a Voyager but here? Nope. Only 1 Voyager and that's it. Cue the long sigh....Sighhhhhhhhh......

I think the weapon is supposed to light them up when you activate the LED. It probably only works in dark conditions.

Looks great, but I'm happy with the Deluxe! Usually there's a bigger difference between the Deluxe and Voyager versions of a character, both in size and in complexity. In this case, it looks like the Voyager is only a bit larger, has a bit more articulation, and has a goofy looking oversized Mechtech weapon. The Deluxe version is already great, and is the right scale for Voyager Megatron and Deluxe Soundwave.

Of course, I say that now, but when I see this in the store I'll probably give in to temptation.

Man that thing looks great, except for the silly mechtech weapon, i forked out £22 including postage on ebay for the first edition for two reasons:

1) I couldnt be bothered waiting for this thing, i needed me a prime starscream!
2) Because i didn't think it would be this good.

People need to get creative, just think of it as Starscream got upgraded or something, simple :P

But i'm not sure if i'll get it, simply because i got the first edition, maybe i'll get Bulkhead first and if i somehow find this cheap i'll get it then.

Starscream looks really nice except the transparent arms.

Bulkhead also looks better than before but I think FE is still much better. Only this version got the shoulder color right.

Weapons? Sigh.....

Agreed

Also, I'm not seeing the hate for the dark-purple transparent plastic. Sure, I'd prefer it all be painted, but the dark-purple is a lot nicer on Starscream than that light blue was on Optimus. It is at least dark enough to not look too far off from the normal dark gray that would be there.

Plus, he did once infuse himself with Dark Energon.

Starscream looks fine, without anything too glaring (I can live with the arms).

Bulkhead is alright at a glance, but next to the FE he's just looks weird. If they redeco him into someone else I wouldn't mind.

Mechtech continues to be a necessary evil that keeps the gimmicky compromises out of the figure itself.

Hnngg.. Bulkhead... I want to like it, I REALLY do. The FE just look so much better...but that said I'll likely never get FE Bulkhead. His being a good deal smaller does land him more in-scale though. I also am not sure I dig the crotch-thrust-yness. Eh, I'll probably pick it up eventually. *shrug* And, as has been the case in the past (I'm looking at you Nitro Bumlbebee...literally, he's sitting on my computer desk), I'll probably like it more in person.

I didn't even see the Bulkhead pics.

Of course, FE is better, but I'm not in any position to spend $100 bucks on a voyager class figure. I will have to settle for the PRID Bulk for my collection. It's definitely not the best figure of the line, but it represents him well enough, and he is tall enough to stand behind my Deluxes so that is good. Mechtech garbage will be going into the drawer where it will sit forever with all the others.

Bulkhead's vehicle mode looks nice, except for the translucent roof pieces.
The robot mode is terrible because it cheats and it doesn't even look good while doing so.
Look to PRID Ratchet as a prime example of how to cheat and make it look good. (No pun intended)

The transformation is...odd, too. Dat backpack... Why do these PRID figures all have to have such giant backpacks? (I know why they have them, but it's a question I'd like answered. Some of the most complex engineering designs have come from these people and they come up with this, all of a sudden? Sloppy.)

These figures look like crap bulkhead not so much but starscream is another rid prime seriously is everyone just giving in and accepting the crap hasblow is putting out look at SS jet mode you can see hinges every where the jet is not smooth at all. Then in robot mode he has a split thruster hanging from his ankles a huge nose one for an ass and purple translucent forarms and he's taller than megatron. I thought a deluxe figure could never be better than its voyager version but in SS case it is. And these powerizer weapons suck ass why can't we get arms microns aka target masters. Then we have bulkhead from the side he's thin he's not supposed to be thin. His doors on his chest swing out to far and they look a little low and I don't even wanna mention his weapon. Seriously hasblow is putting out **** toys that are made for kids not collectors the chug figures were for collectors. It's sad how everyone is just settling but I guess we have to because 3rd party doesn't put out enuf stuff plus it's to much money. So if a collector that doesn't have a lot of cash has to get what ever he could like that crap bruticus they are putting out

Not everyone is a cynical when it comes to plastic toys.

I thought a deluxe figure could never be better than its voyager version

Deluxe Armada Optimus, Nightslash Cheetor, 2 figures that spring to mind that are deluxe figures that outshine their larger versions.

Seriously hasblow is putting out **** toys that are made for kids not collectors the chug figures were for collectors. We are NOT and NEVER will we be Hasbro's main audience. Of course these toys are made for kids, THEY ARE TOYS!

Not every line can be the Masterpiece line. There are conflicting issues. Complexity sits well with collectors, but lines like RID (the original RID) and ROTF, which were chalk full of complex designs, also meet hard criticism from Transformers main market, that being kids and their parents buying them. Kids need figures that are easy enough for them to transform and play with. I remember being a kid when RID was out, and while I thought the world of the designs like Opitmus and Sideburn, I found it to be an absolute chore to play with them because they took way too long to transform. ROTF has extremely well engineered figures, but there was no way in the world that a kid is going to transformer leader class Prime, or leader class Jetfire. Heck, I can hardly transform leader class Jetfire.

If you don't like a line, don't buy it. Personally, I've liked just about every PRID figure I own, Cliff being the only one I find myself extremely disappointed with. I've got all of wave 1 and 2 deluxe and voyager figures. I think the line is great. I don't think complexity makes a line good or bad.

I'm not worked up I just think these figures suck they can do so much better for the money we spend the price goes up and quality goes down. And sorry about not knowing about the other deluxe figures because I didn't collect any of the figures from the poopy unicron trilogies. And I refuse to believe that children are the main audience because as a child you cannot go on a website and pre-order a figure and buy it with a credit card you don't own yet. Pre-orders sell out all the figures collectors are looking for are all bought up but the ones we aren't looking for **** on the shelves aka peg warmers. Go on eBay whose buying all the over priced figures not kids and not their parents. What kids do you know that can afford bot con tickets or parents that will pat $1200 for a trip for 2 this year because thats how much it cost me. Look at YouTube videos of conventions and shows mostly adults. The prime show airs at 830 at night my kids are in bed by 730 so who's up adults ya it airs on Saturday mournings. Who buys all the 3rd party stuff oh let me guess kids shell out hundreds of dollars to own fansproject of tfc toys come on now stop sucking hasblows d#ck and realize who is the main consumer

And I like a lot of the figures to but really I love collecting TF figures and I'm gonna have to get them even if I think they suck. But some of the figures they do an amazing job and others the screw up so bad and it didn't have to be like that who is calling the shots a blind guy. I have to sons when I take them to the store for toys get what they get not TFs but they like them but not many of their friends have them so they get beyblades or monsuno so they can play with their fiends I never see kids at my kids school or parties with TFs for toys it's always beyblades yogi oh and the crap

Night Slash Cheetor was a Beast Machines toy, not Unicron Trilogy.

You're forgetting one key factor that has been around since the very beginning of the franchise: The selling of toys in toy stores, which kids save up their allowances to to go shop at, or have their parents buy the toys for them. The same about ordering toys online. I had my parents buy me toys online as a child.

Hotrodimust wrote:What kids do you know that can afford bot con tickets or parents that will pat $1200 for a trip for 2 this year because thats how much it cost me. Look at YouTube videos of conventions and shows mostly adults.
BotCon is not as big a portion of this franchise as the toy line is. But kids do go to that too, accompanied by their parents. There wasn't even Botcon until 1994, ten years after the franchise began.

Hotrodimust wrote:The prime show airs at 830 at night my kids are in bed by 730 so who's up adults ya it airs on Saturday mournings.
Seriously? Unless they're around toddler age, 7:30's quite early for bedtime. And on a Saturday night, no less. My bedtime as a child was 9pm, with 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays (as they weren't school nights).

Hotrodimust wrote:Who buys all the 3rd party stuff oh let me guess kids shell out hundreds of dollars to own fansproject of tfc toys come on now stop sucking hasblows d#ck and realize who is the main consumer
Now you're just trolling. 3rd party stuff isn't official, therefore not part of this franchise, and therefore not Transformers product.

And, at the end of it all, no matter how you factor it, we are adults buying children's toys. Deal with it.
