That's what it feels like for Escalation. I've only had it 2 days and alot of the time I queue up for escalation and get put into an empty lobby....."waiting for players"......thing.
Middle of the day Sunday afternoon and no one is playing the new TF game????
I don't know what's wrong with these games . No one plays them. WFC and FOC are cool for like a month and then the online portion is dead empty there after. And it sucks cuz these have been some of the best TF games to date.
And I can't believe there's no MP. No TDM??? No Conquest????
Not even any new maps in Escalation except like one. All the maps are from WFC and FOC.
And Im only halfway through the story mode but I have practically unlocked every weapon and character already. So fast.
Geez, Don't make me work for anything why dont ya?
Maybe no wonder no one plays these games cuz you finish everything in like one day.
Not done with story mode yet so I'm still assessing the story aspect of it game but the online play seems so just like......empty and nothing.

I think the reason why there isn't as much players online now is because with the launch of Next gen consoles a division has been created. And the PC community is almost dead because the game barely runs. At keast the campaign gameplay is decent though, that's one thing it has going for it.

You want to know why nobody seems to be playing it?

Because it's just a bad game in general, and nobody wants to play it. That, and what viruscarnage wrote. No competitive multiplayer, the main idea behind the game is not exactly what they said it would be (in that there would be some interdimensional shenanigans between the two universes going down... which obviously didn't happen outside of the Dark Spark from travelling between the two universes), just a boring story in general, and Escalation is just limited to fifteen waves.

I cannot stress this enough when I say this: Edge of Reality did a poor show with this game. I'm not sure why High Moon didn't do this game, whether it was because they're working on another project, or Hasbro just plain said "We don't want you to do another game", or whatever the reason, but they really should've been behind this one. I was a big fan of War for Cybertron (the game that made me get an Xbox and thus my first Xbox game) and Fall of Cybertron (which is one of my favorite multiplayer games ever), and I really would've liked this game to have been a third chronological entry of the Cybertron series.

This game just makes me really sad. :-(
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

The movie is longer than this game. I beat it in like, 2 hours, and there is no reason to play it again. At all.

I like to blame Acitvision on this. Edge Of Reality could have done a much better job, but Activision made it so that they had to release this game as movie-tie-in. Even High Moon did a really bad job when they made DOTM, but it's because Activision made them rush it. Now for AOE, Activision wanted a fast game for a cheap budget, Edge Of Reality was willing to make this for not that much money compared to what High Moon would demand. Edge Of Reality have potential, they could make an awesome TF game, but because this is a movie tie-in, they can't.

It would make more sense for HMS to do the TF game, since they are experienced at making TF games, and let Edge of Reality port CoD over to PS3 and 360, which is what HMS is doing right now.

On a completely different note, the healing trophies are a real pain to finish, it's taken me 6+ hours for 3 trophies.

I still think that Edge Of Reality got rushed by Acitivision, same thin happened when High Moon made DOTM. Edge Of Reality did make Loadout, an awesome FPS, and they could have did the same if they were given the time and a better budget.

Well, I was planning on buying it this week, but I guess not... I liked WfC and FoC well enough, but if I didn't think those were absolutely perfect, I'd probably dislike this game. I was expecting the inter-dimensional shenanigans, but if there won't be any of that, then I'll just skip this game.

No, not much Inter-Dimensional darma other than The Dark Spark travelling between the FOC/WFC world and the movie world.

The transforming is still a little bit fun, and the co-op is passable. However, tons of other games out there that are cheaper and better than this.

I haven't played co op on FoC or WfC I ususally stick to the campaign (mostly because I have limited time and don't feel my skills are there to play against other players).
I should at least read the reviews I guess, but I tend to disagree with reviewers. But other players are generally more reliable than reviewers.

That's the other thing. I don't get into gaming much, the last game I bought was FoC (or GoldenEye for PS3, whichever came out later) and I didn't get it until about 2 months after it was out, so the price dropped. I have never paid more than $35 for a video game. $60 for this? HELL NO.

Aaaaaaaaand having now seen the movie, there's no way that what happens in the game could possibly have happened in the movie.

However, considering the whole alternate universe-hopping Dark Spark Macguffin, it's easy to assume that this is an alternate universe from the movie's.

Which I prefer since the movie, in my opinion, was awful.

A disappointing game. The story was half baked, its a poor movie tie in as it doesn't really connect to the movie all that well beyond the new characters being there, and i could swear its actually a graphical downgrade from DOTM. Beyond that I was hoping they would bring back the classic Escalation model, which I recently went back to and its fun as hell. But they stuck with the FOC model, with really bad enemy AI I might add. The only saving grace might've been the amount of playable characters in escalation, but with the ability to swap out abilities they aren't even characters anymore; just player skins.they shouldn't have added that feature in. 4/10 not really worth it. If you want to play it wait until you can find it in a bargain bin at 10 bucks.

I looked on PSN for the downloads. They offer everything that I got in the Gamestop preorder individually. The Wal-Mart exclusive Stinger character isn't offered except in the Battle Pack. I talked to a Rep. and she stated that there is no information on a single release of the character yet. She couldn't specify if there is going to be a single release or not as of now. If anyone is wanting to get these downloads who didn't get the Wal-Mart version of the game, you are left buying the Battle Pack and paying for everything you already have again, at least for now. $1.99 isn't bad, but $5.99 for Stinger is crazy. For those who are looking to get him as a single download all I can say is keep hoping!
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yeah, no. I haven't touched multiplayer on this one and haven't even popped it back in after finishing the story mode. If it had competitive multiplayer, I'd maybe think about it. It's just so much worse than the Fall/Cybertron games, and that's a shame since it's somewhat a part of them :/

I still don't get where this game is supposed to fit in either timeline. The movieverse parts are supposed to happen before AoE, since Lockdown is still alive, but both Prime and Bumblebee have their new forms that they got halfway through the movie, and somehow Grimlock is involved even though none of the Autobots had even met him at that point.

The Cybertron parts are even more confusing, since Megatron is in the new body Soundwave made him in FoC, but if I remember right he almost immediately set out to turn Trypticon into the Nemesis and attack the Ark after he got that body. Are these parts of the game supposed to take place in, like, the two hours they were waiting for Tryp to transform? Or is it supposed to happen before FoC and they just used the wrong model for Megatron?

Either way, this game's story was a mess. Kinda wish they had just stuck to one universe or the other.

This is what happened, I'm pretty sure. Still no clue where in Movie-verse its set. Because it seems like they know Lockdown and have faced him. Alternate timeline where Lockdown didn't die maybe?

The Cybertron parts take place after WFC but before FOC, with Megatron in the wrong body.

The Movie parts take place in an alternate version of the movie that isn't the same as but still based on the movie itself, just like all of the other Movie video games.
