I think in a few ways the RID line is a little simpler. One of the advantages RID has over the CW is that the transformations are more unique for each bot. I find the CW line to have a bit of sameyness to all of the deluxes. Like some of the shared leg transformations. But the RIDs don't have to become arms or legs either.

I used to be on team the more complex the better, but I find I rarely play with my more complex figures. I've gotten a ton of fun from both the RID and CW line. I think there is room in this world for different level of complexities depending on the mood you're in.

At first the look of RID turned me off, but now I love them. Overall I find the warriors to be intuitive, fun and satisfying . If I were to ask for anything, it would be for a few voyager class figures.

I find both CW and RiD equally intuitive. Mind you CW has to have a certain design that includes a combiner peg and certain articulation, but the RiD guy are not too bad either. They have winners and losers, same as any line, and I am enjoying both

I thought I'd be collecting the Combiner War figures. I saw them and how great the sculpts looked. Then I decided to pick up a few RiD and fell in love with the design and transformations. Now I'm on a quest to collect all the figures based on this line across all the different types.

I was wondering though if we might see some more warrior class figures. It seems disappointing to only have one Decepticon in that size.

I may unwatch this thread, cuz to be honest, I don't CARE about RID toys anymore, at least not enough to talk about them. They just don't look good to me, and I've seen many in the stores. And don't send me a note admins cuz I'm "off topic", cuz I'm just sharing my general opinion about this line, or at least why I'm disinterested in getting figures from this line.

Well that's nice to see. Always nice to have more Decepticons, and I'm digging on the whole beastman kind of thing going on with them.

The only one I care about is Megatronus

Megatronus is of course one that I want, but it just feels off having only Steeljaw. I decided to pick up the one step changers just because there were more Decepticons. My wife is annoyed a little that I'm doing multiple lines of the same figures though.

I'll see if I can churn one out, been a while but doing those Vicky redecos has got the digibash bug again.

Robots In Disguise (2015) Deployers (wave 1) and Mini-Cons (wave 1) have been sighted at retail!

I know, you're thinking "Wait, haven't those been out for a while?" and you're right, they have. Heck, I even found them last week and posted it in the forums, but didn't news it because I thought they had surely been front paged by the time I had found them. That was my mistake, so I must apologize.

I'm not the only one to have found them, fellow Seibertronian Cobotron has them in hand as well, and unlike me he decided to share the images of his findings! (I really, really dropped the ball on this one, eh?)

AB032, I thought it was you who had reported on these here in the thread. It was your little mini review that made me decide to grab Fracture. For me the minis were a no brainer. Can't wait to pop these open tonight.

Fracture's fun, no doubt. Don't expect miracles, but he's fun. The Mini-Cons are where it's at though. Love that you can combine their armor into animal. Can't wait for wave 2 to show up so I can make the next one.

I don't want to, but I need to buy Deployer Drift simply because I want his Mini-Con. They're fun little buggers...

I'll have to keep an eye out for the Deployers now. I want Fracture if for no other reason then to have another Decepticon. I hear though that they aren't great articulation wise and are pretty limited in posability, anyone know if that is true?

I'll be picking up Drift just for Jetstorm as well. I also wanna get Slipstream and Beastbox. But mostly just Drift's little buddies, so they can hang out with the warrior figures. I'll probably pick up a few random 'Cons too.

Funnily enough, I saw the Deployers and Mini-Cons today as well for the first time. The deployers are smaller than I thought, the Mini-Cons are larger. I still don't want them, but they look cool.

Just to piggy back on our weird post-convention summer coma that staff slipped into somehow - I updated the sightings product listings with the Deployers and the first couple waves of Mini-cons. Meant to do this ages ago, sorry about that folks. Going to work in the next few days/weeks on getting things up to date and future proof in there.

Now that the Robots in Disguise Minicons are finding their way all across North America, a review could help those who haven't made up their mind whether to pick them up or not.

We already had a very very early review for the Wave 2 (!!) Minicons but Madeus Prime brought this review of Wave 1 to our attention. This first wave contains Transformers Robots in Disguise Minicons Dragonus, Slipstream, Divebomb and Sawback and a bonus Energon Lion figure can be made from the clear accessory pieces.

I think the Wal-Mart in my area completely bypassed Wave 1 and got in Wave 2 first. When I was there on Monday, I remember seeing the Beastbox, Ratbat, Sandsting, and Velocirazor assortment on a "blank label" peg. I was going to get one of each, but as I said, "blank label" peg showing no price and the price scanner right there on the same aisle was broken. Now that I know they're only $5 a pop, I'll be picking them up tomorrow morning when I do some grocery shopping. If others were hesitant about buying them like I was without knowing their price, the four should still be there (fingers crossed).

my walmart has RID2015 stuff but nothing for Combiner Wars. Just an empty space.

That's strange that both waves are out, and with wacky distro no less.

WJ88 asked in the haul thread, if these guys are worth the price of admission. IMO, YES! But that depends on what you're looking for. Will collects transformations, Meaning he loves the challenge of a new and different puzzle. These are not that.
But, if you like cool little robot action figures, wit totally sweet translucent armor and weapons like I do, then this is your bag. They are great little characters with neat designs, and a decent little gimmick. Personally I think they are really fun and worth 5 bucks a pop. (they should be $2.99, but this isn't 2003 anymore, and we all have to face that inflation has inflated.)

...and for an added bonus for all those (including myself) who are bummed that the Legion guys don't come with weapons...


Fracture is a harder pill to swallow. While he is the crux of the overall gimmick, as a Transformer he comes up short. All of his articulation is pretty much for transformation aside from his shoulders. He is really just a glorified shooty stick. BANG BANG!
He does have a few redeeming qualities. He is a nicely sculpted figure with decent paint apps, and the gimmick is fun and works well. Also his alt mood is really cool because...

Yeah. I think fracture looks great but for me, the value isn't there. I really hope they start releasing deceptions for warrior class. I'll pick them up. I like getting the new characters.

Thanks for those last two pics Cobs. Those makes me want to pick up Fracture now. If you haven't been able to tell, I love some TF riding TF action.

Yeah, I'll get him again. This line is the first time I've bought multiple lines of the same show. I've got the Warrior line, One Step, and the Legion figures. I don't know what it is but I'm digging the designs. Still not a 100% sold on the show though which is weird.

For me, with the toys, it's the alt modes. There are just some excellent vehicle designs being churned out right now. I'm also not sold on the show, but 1) this isn't the right thread and 2) my feelings on that are in the podcast going up today sometime soon anyhow
