An articulated frontloader.
Don't front loaders normally have scoops? Looks more like a flat bed / dump truck hauling a big round thing. I really hope that part can be removed or collapse.

I got my wires crossed. He's an articulated dump truck. Specifically a modified Komatsu HD465-7.

Ah cool that it's based on a real vehicle. They all look plausible, but are all the SS Constructicon toys based on real life vehicles? Those giant construction vehicles can get pretty crazy.

I'm only 2/8 of the way in and I have no concrete plans to finish or not finish Devastator. The combined figure they just showed off sure isn't doing a good job selling it to me. I do find the individual ones that are monster-like a lot of fun and may continue to pick them up on whims and sales.

So I know what that is, the Red one, WIth them using names that aren't original constructicons I'm fully going to admit to not knowing who is who.

I'm talking about long red truck with what looks like part of a space bridge on the end.

He’s actually an articulated motor scraper; they look like articulated dump trucks but aren’t they scrape up excess dirt from the ground to even out areas without making piles everywhere

They're modified so they're not licensed, much like how the original toys were... Except for one: Mixmaster. So far he's the only confirmed licensed toy, specifically of a Mack Granite (probably because DotM Megatron was a licensed Mack M915, gotta make the licenses stretch :))

So not licensed but not necessarily fictional either. The movies toys tend to use licensed vehicles and these looked a lot closer to real life vehicles than the CW Constructicon amalgamations. Cool cool thanks.

That's Mixmaster's Vortex Grinder that becomes Devastator's neck. I guess they couldn't integrate it into Mixmaster himself and so included it with Overload to haul around.

But what did Vortex ever do to Mixmaster?

Well, considering how far separately apart the pelvis is from the neck on one's body...

Yeah, I really loved that figure - until the entire rear bumper assembly cracked into pieces... gotta love clear plastic
after dropkick and black-and-red movie drift, I think I've sworn off car formers with clear plastic in them, they cost too much for them to just snap like that =;

Might be time to call it quits then. More and more figures are being made with the stuff across all lines. After a quick glance and off the top of my head, Hightower is the only recent figure I've gotten without the stuff (including Siege).

I feel like it's only painted clear (white clear, not colored clear) plastic; I found it happens most in the car formers cuz the entire car body shell is made out of it and then painted, and the paint probably causes extra friction with the pins, or the plastic just can't take the strain of the pins while being that thin

I dig, but I was referring to any figure that uses clear plastic (painted or not) as part of a joint (either pinned, clipped or ball joint). Just seems to becoming more and more common. It's a shame clear plastic is just so damn cool.

I've gotta say, having had them for a while, I'm still super in love with the arcee triplets; I am super into the eldritch body designs each of them have, they're almost serpentine, and I love it 8-)

Sure is cool, but its lack of flex compared to other colors (it's still all ABS) kinda restricts its overall use. Hasbro/TakaraTomy are well aware of that: why do you think Combiner Wars has no clear plastic outside TT's Groove and its retools?

Doesn't exist outside of dedicated lines and the cartoon switched their colors.

Luckily the Constructicons all have no clear plastic, so there's that.

Sure is cool, but its lack of flex compared to other colors (it's still all ABS) kinda restricts its overall use. Hasbro/TakaraTomy are well aware of that: why do you think Combiner Wars has no clear plastic outside TT's Groove and its retools?
Nature of the beast. Worrying about is like worrying about scale or which Frumble is red.
Doesn't exist outside of dedicated lines and the cartoon switched their colors.

Luckily the Constructicons all have no clear plastic, so there's that.
Considering potential breakage and all you see through the windows is robot junk anyway, I'd rather them just use solid plastic and paint it a logical color for the figure. Unfortunately my only options are to not buy the figure or to not transform it. I'll probably never transform TR Weirdwolf again :( , but wasn't the failure the solid color plastic :-?

Might be time to call it quits then. More and more figures are being made with the stuff across all lines. After a quick glance and off the top of my head, Hightower is the only recent figure I've gotten without the stuff (including Siege).

One of the constructicons' strengths - for me - is proving thst you can paint windows and have it look good, besides, you're right, there are few mainline figures that have clear windows that don't have junk in them, so it defeats the purpose and potentially ruins the figure :HEADHURTS:

Siege Ironhide comes immediately to mind. That metallic blue used on the Constructicons looks outstanding. I've admired it on both Scrapmetal and Hightower and wouldn't mind it used on every figure, except for the ones where red, purple, black or some other color would make more sense or look better.
