This is so true. These could easily have been worse, but they nailed them all so far, and there really isn't an easy way to make them better.

It's also super exciting since this is our first 8 member combiner toy like this, so it's great to see it all coming together slowly and fantastically

I recently picked up Mixmaster, and it's my favorite of the constructicons I have so far. It's pretty crazy that they were able to pull off all three modes so well, and although there are some compromises, it isn't anything glaring. I've even found myself liking the Devastator head mode more than I did from pictures.

Glad to have these two squaring off again! (Although the HFTD deluxe Ironhide would probably scale better with how they appear in-game).

Other than Overload and the possible Devy box set, do we know of any other SS figures that haven't been released yet?

Cliffjumper is retool of jeep bee to resemble how cliffy looked in the Bumblebee movie... Don't know if it will split in two though ;)

I didnt catch that the cybettronian vehicle was a retool of the jeep.
Anyways, Rodimus, in the film Cliffjumper and Bee have the same body so it's movie accurate if both toys would only have different heads.

And considering they are making a Cybertronian Cliffjumper, it would only make sense that a cybertronian Bumblebee would come too. Would be really funny, a bee as a head retool of a Cliff who is an extensive retool of another body Bee

Possible 86 Transformers Movie Toys Coming to Studio Series Line

Postby william-james88 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 4:48 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
We have what might be some pretty huge news. Fellow Seibertronian JTPRime17 has found a listing for Transformers Generations Studio Series Leader 86 Grimlck Whe. Now, the Studio Series line was always labeled in the system as part of Generations so that fits, but the big deal here is what comes next which is what seems to be a shortened version of Leader class Grimlock + Wheelie from the 86 Transformers film. Walmart listings have yet to be wrong so we can only assume this means the Studio Series line is branching out into bringing us figures from the 86 Transformers film. The pairing of Grimlock and Wheelie makes lots of sense since that's where they became friends.

This is potentially huge news since it could mean you would be getting more Generation 1 toys with the screen accurate detail and complexity found in the Studio Series line. And us having a listing now means this could be coming within the next year. You'll let us know if the idea of getting another set of G1 seekers in Generations scale interests you or not, though (joking aside) the idea of getting Grimlock here hopes to suggest we'd be getting characters that were more prominant in the film, like Hot Rod, Galvatron, Cyclonus and others. Let us know what you hope this means.

If anyone is curious in finding this listing themselves, all you need to do is run Bluestacks on a PC, put Walmart app on it, and type UPC into price checker.

At least that was a design from one of the live action films of the 2000s-2010s, complete with their signature greeble and tech detail, rather than from an animated film of the 1980s.

I feel like there's a lot of possibilities for what this listing actually is, maybe a G1 repaint of SS Grimlock?

That admittedly wouldn't make much sense, but I guess it's possible. I really doubt that, if it is an actual G1 Grimlock, that it would be mixed in with normal SS stuff - maybe a separate line that just shares the "studio series" title, kinda like how WFC and SS are both grouped into generations but still separate lines.

Guess we'll have to wait and see!

i dont get it, why have SS G1 movie figures when there are the war for cybertron trilogy generations figures
and anymore articulated and detailed there is masterpiece, is this just another marketing scheme to get us to by the same figures over again like with the Netflix series figures?
i think there is more to this i hope
then again if they did figures that need the SS treatment i would hope for Galvatron Cyclonus and Scourge

Technically, Studio Series is part of the Generations label, just another branch of it like how Siege/Earthrise is.

While I would love for the insanity that would be AoE Grimlock in G1 colours, packaged with G1 coloured Wheelie from the DoTM Shockwave figure, I'm not sure it's a good idea bringing G1 into studio series. I saw nothing wrong in having the lines having their own identities. There was still enough characters left without having to worry about the lines future

I could see some zany stuff coming from this endeavor; I guess this is the only logical outcome if hasbro wants to continue the line, but are admittedly running out of new figures to fill out a whole year. Maybe this adds credibility to the devastator boxset being g1 colors. On the other hand, maybe this will be a special sub-line like the netflix line for walmart?
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.
