Great photos.Hellscream9999 wrote:I'm tired of fighting his transformation, his car doors don't fit into the tab so he can't actually go into car mode; he can't pose at all due to having no ankles, or thigh swivel, he can't even open his hands. This figure is pathetic
I didn't expect him to have ankle tilts. It's uncommon for deluxes to do so I thought. Some do, some don't. Can't pose at all?
Ok hi, Barricade.
Strike a pose, Barricade
Not my pic but I like it.
That's some degree of posing. He's not one of those huge 5 point articulated figures clogging up stores in the past few years. He can turn head, elbows, double jointed knees, feet, open/close hands (What do you mean can't open his hands?), be made to squat or sit. Not sure what else you need from a lil brute like Barricade really. Certainly not Spider-Man like flexibility. Ok thigh swivels and waist swivel might be nice but he can certainly do some posing rather than none at all.

Seriously? What do you think I am? Some sort of f-ing moron? I know the handle goes in the hand, I know how to make the cannon, and I also know his arm joints will never be able to support the cannon without it being supported, it's disgustingly heavy; seriously, you can stop being so insufferably condescending and smug anytime now

I like him, he's still the pain to get standing that darksteel was; speaking of which, if we're doing repaints, I would buy the heck out of a darksteel retool of this guy

I think overall, Sideswipe is the best deluxe of the wave. I also am grateful they went back to the rear of the car becomes his chest, it bugged me that the DotM one didn't do that and went with the front of the car.
Wish we could get some stealth force styled upgrades for him. I loved Stealth force, that's something that needs revisited.

If we get the wreckers, they'll likely go with their s.f. modes

I Think Bee is devouring Barricade in a stingray-like fashion
Hellscream9999 wrote:SillyMcGilly wrote:Also out of curiosity just in general, anyone own both the SS 38 Optimus and Siege Optimus to compare together? I'd like to know how well they match in design quality and stability.
I do, siege is rock solid, ss 38 is made up of tiny parts - especially on the legs (the tires, and the arms they're on) they not only hamper the thigh swivel, but come untabbed super easily, the lower legs don't really lock into place, but they also don't flop about. Strictly speaking, ss38 is also solid, but its the little bits that keep coming undone on mine that bug me, whereas, siege prime being simpler tabs together and stays together. SS38 has more poseable ankles due to the transformation, so he has that on siege prime, but siege prime can flex his shoulders backwards for more dynamic poses. Design-wise, they're both crazy clever, but on different levels, ss38 is all tiny panels turning inside out and siege prime has the backpack wrap-around and arm/legs panels that reshape his entire body into a truck cab, so I say they're tied.
SillyMcGilly wrote:Burn wrote:And don't censor yourself, I consider such actions as an attempt to by-pass the forum censor, you can still get your message across with asterix's (or even without swearing)
Ehh.. that's sorta exaggerated. Users like me are used to censoring their swear words, and sometimes are uncomfortable spelling out a whole word like "****". It's not an attempt at "bypassing" as you say, but rather a user trying to be responsible and censor themselves generally. E.g. TFW2005 doesn't censor swear words. So just taking offense at it randomly when there are a ton of possible genuine reasons for it which are MORE likely the case, is slightly.. well.. pessimistically cynical of fellow users?

It's hard because I'm tryna decide whether to go for this guy, or the Siege Optimus since I can get him earlier. I guess it just all comes down to how dynamic both look. The only problem for me with Siege Optimus is that.. dumb worn paint job. I do much prefer Siege Optimus's blue hands though, so he does have that. Though his gun looks really hollow unlike the SS one, and I prefer the SS one's truck mode. AGHHH
Idunno, do I wait for this Optimus, or get the Siege one because I can right now? I want myself a good Optimus finally, but I'm so impatient! Which one is easier to mess with you'd say? Which one feels like a better action figure?

Thanks a bunch. It was super hard to decide because they both look amazing for different reasons. I think I prefer Siege's classic head and blue hands and such, as well as the better looking feet, but I just thought the SS Optimus had a really amazing hip construction that looks damn close to MP in design. But, since my other G1ish style figures are from CHUG, I think the Siege one would fit the style of the rest better anyway. Plus I simply love the new Siege Springer, and the Siege Optimus would fit better with him. And, lordy.. That Siege Optimus looks like a proper action figure.
Plus I have some extra money for reprolabels if I so want to remove the paint and reapply another Autobot insignia.

Well, if you really want both you can still get ss38 in the jetwing set, and still be able to pull off jetfire shenanigans since it's the same figure, only with the bright orange and awesome trailer; I know that if I'm in a position to, I'll get both since they each have their own combined mode, but I think that siege prime is too good a figure to pass up
SillyMcGilly wrote:Wait you even talking about the same figure? I was talking about this Studio Series Optimus:

Well, everything I've read points towards it being a great, solid figure, I say, if you dig it, you'll like it, especially if the siege one has things that bug you and that one doesn't

Lol no problem. Well I guess now I've made up my mind to preorder the SS Optimus since I genuinely like it better. Both look amazing, but overall the SS one has better paint apps I think and also a SICK truck mode.
