Went ahead this morning and added a reference link to the original source for that tidbit on Bonecrusher's Wiki page.Carnivius_Prime wrote:kinda wished i'd never said antyhing now. Didn't expect it to go on this much. Just wanted a pic of what TFwiki had written.

Prime stabs him under his chin straight thru/upwards so it's a face removal rather than a straight up decapitation from the looks of it.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
Randomhero wrote:I still don’t think this is an actual feature. It’s more like “this is how the head is assembled isn’t it kinda like how he dies in the movies?” Especially since if you’re not careful you can break the eyes taking it off. Once I got bonecrusher I did this and it felt more like I was just disassembling my toy. Especially considering there’s no detail like say that Fallen toy where there’s bits and a skull under behind the face

Long Haul got the same treatment somewhere in the movie I can't remember: supposedly that's how Igor was made

ZeroWolf wrote:The problem is that why bother building the heads the way they have then? It's not standard construction as they wouldn't need to be removable (the head would just be one piece of plastic, or two halves held together by a screw)
An alternate idea is that one of the designers wants Optimus Prime to be able to build up a face collection in preparation for a future Fallen figure either way this is a fun thing so I don't know why people can't just let it lie

Emerje wrote:I don't think Hasbro really cares if they're specifically decapitated or just have their faces removed in the movies. By making the faces removable it spares the ball joint from wearing out, or worse, breaking. Leaving the eyes behind just makes them easier to paint, and they don't really look like eyes on their own anyway and it makes the faces look properly lifeless.

I agree, the only way we'll ever know for sure is if the question was put to the studio series designers.
@Deadput it's okay to say that there's other ways to do it, but it doesn't change the point that this method is an inefficient way to construct a head. There's no point I can see, no benefit, to having the head built this way compared to normal style
FrankTheJohnson wrote:This a pretty cool addition to this figure. I didn't know about it.. but good to know. So now I'm wondering if the SS Battle Damage Megatron's arm comes off since his face is damaged and there are hidden features like this face coming off.. that totally would make the Megatron figure more worth getting in my opinion.
Does anyone know if that's possible on the SS Battle Damage Megatron?
