This thing screams impactor, I don't even know him, aside from the foc version, and the first thing I thought, was - hey, it's that guy from the wreckers with a drill hand or whatever - so, technically you're wrong, it does suit him, it's just not the design you wanted >:oP

I'd imagine if they replaced the hydraulic claw with a harpoon or drill, it would quiet a lot of the complaints. Alas, FunPub can only do very limited retooling.

Oh, and if you add Impactor and Mystery Figure (assuming it's a combiner, but that's not an unreasonable assumption) to Brake-Neck and Quickslinger, you have a full spare set of limbs. Likely suitable to stick on Galvatronus.

Aaah. The peg!

It baffles me why they don't do more to hide it.

I understand it's unpaintable, but it's made of two distinct parts - why not make them different colours? By making the chest and abdomen different colours, the outline of the peg is broken up entirely.

I appreciate Hasbro can't do this at this stage in the game - the tops and bottoms of the pegs are on the same mold. But the club are making these - they have known and identical quantities of the different figures. They could swap the bottoms of one peg with another, improving both figures at a stroke.

More information about timing and price for TFSS 4.0 will be made available as the pre-production side of things progresses.

I was holding off on the answer for a little bit, hoping that it would develop into another "soon", but really it is just a bit early to give an exact time frame for when pre-orders will go up. Next month is the hope, however.

Price should be comparable to TFSS 3.0. More specific pricing information will be available shortly.

As for the weapon hand, I can just say that the final colors and product may vary from this image. Fun Pub are hearing all of the suggestions for which existing weapons would work, as well as concerns about the unpainted hand.

The final mock-ups will start to be completed and shown in the coming weeks, you'll have a better look at the toys and their accessories then.

When Hasbro sends over the mold lay-out, I'm sure a little more creativity will go into the color placement.

Also a personal preference, but I prefer to push that peg back into the chest another click or two on the ratchet joint. This hides the shape of the peg and provides an even more Impactor-shaped chest.

I think he looks superb. It wouldn't be too expensive for someone like nonnef to make a drill or harpoon for people to get. I just want to see a full combiner finished with him. Rotorstorm, Guzzle, Pyro, Ironfist... All easy with Combiner Wars molds!

I do not understand the hype for this fig, kind of a poor representation of the character. For $20 + more you can get a larger figure, better sculpt/articulation from Masterminds Creations Spartan.

I'm wishing for Xaaron from Megs, but Nightracer's look in "A Common Foe" (the comic that advertised the TFSS 3.0 figures) being based on Tailgate is (sadly) a strong indicator of what the 7th figure might be. :-(

Excellent news!

Very much looking forward to this, now.

As for existing weapons that would work, have you considered the Arms Micron Giza (the jagged sword that comes with Nemesis Prime)? The peg allows it to point outwards, looks pretty harpoon-like, and has the advantage that it hides the hand.

I don't have the guy to test the fit with the Rook mold, but if anyone can confirm the fit, I think you could do worse!

Giza wouldn't cover Rook's fist. The peg that Nemesis Prime holds Giza with while having his hand covered goes down rather than out. There is, however, another peg on Giza that goes outward towards the back that could be fitted into Rook's knuckle hole, but as this peg is on the outside of Giza instead of inside, it wouldn't cover Rook's fist.

Yeah, unfortunately the peg and hand cover for Giza just refuses to cooperate in a way that it would actually cover Impactor's hand and not cast the "harpoon" blade off at a weird angle. When you almost get it to work with the hand cover on top of the forearm, it pops Giza's peg piece out of place.

Maybe Arms Micron Jayz is a decent alternative?

Just keep the hand as is and we're good. Very few Arms Microns actually look decent with forward-facing holes, including R.A., L.P. and Balo.
