Got to milk the parents and unaware kids and casual fans of their money with that Aoe Bee which probably sold like turd if their trying to get their moneys worth out of the mold.

But really the repaint comes out and parents or whoever buys them as gifts for their kids and then the new one comes out and they got to buy it now because the first one is not accurate to the new movie.

This is one of the few times I don't exactly love what Hasbro does but then again it doesn't effect me much yet I just won't buy the first one.

If that true why didn't hey just release Stinger in the west back then? I would have liked that one to pose against my AoE Bee but it was japanese exclusive. Better still would have been the full retool they had planned but oh well...

Anyways Hasbro GIVE US THAT NEW BEE ALREADY, YA BIG OL' TEASE!

I suppose they could make an Optimus Prime figure using the Deluxe Orion Pax mold and a new head. It'd probably look pretty good in the Westernstar truck colors. Sure, it isn't real world accurate, but it looks more like the movie truck than that Gen Megatron mold looks like the movie version.

Realistically I wouldn't be shocked if we saw some Deluxe Predacons from TFPrime repainted into more Autobot dragons. It would also be a good opportunity to get that last Voyager Predaking mold out in the US (it was either rare or non-existent here).

I can't really think of anything else that would really fit in.

They had a Stinger remold/reshell planned but from what I've heard either their deal with Walmart to sell all of Stinger's toys kinda failed and had a fallout which led to the canceling of plans or their might have been some trademark problems with Pagani which might be why the one step which was one of the first toys in the line was the only one that looked like a Pagani in car mode while everything else was repaints.

Of course it might have been Hasbro being lazy despite them having a prototype of Deluxe Stinger.

And that's the thing Stinger is not Bumblebee anyways only Bee can be Bee that's why we have not received a Cliffjumper repaint since the 2007 line or a modern Bee repaint almost never happens and the only times I can think of is Rid Hotshot who is pretty much Bee with a new name and the upcoming Generations Roadburn although I don't really think Generations count since thier aimed more at collectors then kids.

I'd be sort of ok with that. The "new Abominus" looks amazing as Infernocon, and that Deluxe Megatron looks pretty good too, so ya know, if it works, why not?

It didnt hit brick and mortar much due to it being a tail ender but it was readily available online at US retailers (like BBTS) for standard retail prices.

Do you mean the simplistic 2014 one? I bought mine from a brick-and-mortar store. It was that Predaking and that Optimus who were the only simplistic 2014 Beast Hunters toys to make it to brick-and-mortar (in the U.S. at least). You're right about the Deluxes, Commanders, and Legions not making it, though.

In Hand Images of Asia Exclusive Shadow Spark Optimus Prime from Transformers: The Last Knight

Postby william-james88 » Tue Mar 28, 2017 9:09 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Transformers: The Last Knight's Shadow Spark Optimus Prime was revealed a while ago at an event in Hong Kong. As with many reveals, it was hard to make out if it was a painted model and how indicative it was of the finished product. Well, Notrab on Weibo has the finished product in hand. This is a straight redeco of the Age of Extinction Leader Optimus Prime figure released at retail in the US. For those turned off by this and hoping not to see this toy clog shelves, we have good news, it is an Asia exclusive. So it will not be distributed in the US aside from importer shops and will thus have a possible mark-up. For those wanting this figure, it is not up for preorder anywhere in Asia yet but we will keep you updated when it becomes available.

Enjoy these images of Shadow Spark Optimus Prime.

That looks like it needs a lot more dry-brushing of the metallic colors to look good.

I don't think it's a bad figure. Just an unnecessary one. Could have at least used Armor Knight version of the mold.

I realised after I had a think about it that I had seen that Bee before - as I remember the wheels In the feet being an unusual feature.

I don't know if I like or dislike the gun being fixed (if it is fixed) I'm kinda spoiled by Bee's with moving face masks and transforming weapons. Also I feel he needs his Hammer (is it?).

----

As for Optimus - I don't mind he colours or the muted deco so much if it's well in keeping with the evil Optimus in the Movie - I would have liked a different colour sword and shield and perhaps a slightly different grey a shade darker and perhaps metallic plastic. I agree the lack of paint on the shoulders is very obvious.

It is a shame they didn't use the newer mould as that is much more fun with the changing face and the more possable feet.

It does inspire me to want to buy a KBB one and paint it like this or go out and buy the Wei Jiang battle damaged Commander though.

I think I'd have preferred a straight up dark deco one that wasn't so burned and scuffed - something that sat between Nemesis Prime and deco and the old 2008 Night Watch Prime (UK/Japan version that has bronze accents instead of allspark blue). Maybe a very dark blue almost black & a deep crimson would have been nice.

But it's an interesting curiosity piece.

I am aware they go there in the CGI model - I was just saying that Wheels in the feet >on the toys< are not especially common - they are usually on the outside of the ankles on the majority of toys - not embedded in the feet and if they are in the middle of the feet they are usually fake wheel like Nitro Bumblebee or TF Prime Weaponizer Bumblebee.

Can't tell if I like the Shadow Prime or if he is too spooky. I am still deciding on what would be my first Optimus so that might make my perception a little different since I want a figure to represent Prime in my collection as opposed to "here is a cool variant of his character".

Would it help your decision process to know that this toy will only be distributed in Asia and that there will be a mark up if you want to buy it from an importer? I would be surprised if this toy is available for less than $70 at BBTS. How much are you willing to spend on your first Optimus Prime? The Masterpiece is being reissued this year, plus there is a movie masterpiece coming too.

This is his second known toy I don't think a non-movie character would get two since starting with Aoe they are starting to get light on toy only characters and besides Rollbar from Aoe who only had one original mold anyways most toy only characters have only one toy and they don't usually have their own mold for example Hotshot was just a repaint of Crosshairs with no new parts.
