Our friend Ricky Brigante with Inside the Magic dropped by with a Transformers: The Ride 3D update from Universal Orlando. The construction walls around the new attraction have come down and the Megatron walk-around character is making the rounds! The walk around character speaks several quotes from the various incarnations of Megatron throughout the franchise history. The ride opens later this summer, but a temporary meet and greet area has been set up with alternating appearances by Optmus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron. Frank Welker would make sense as I believe he voices Megatron on the ride.

THAT IS THE HYPEST $H!T I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!! And the college I'm going to go to is only a few minutes away from that place!!! DAMNIT!!! Always a year late for EVERYTHING!!!

Im from the UK and going over to Florida to see this in August. Quite looking forward to the ride...and most of all, the gift shop lol

Can you believe what happened in Downtown Orlando?!

Prepare for the greatest battle you’ll ever ride! The new TRANSFORMERS: The Ride–3D is an ultra-immersive, next generation thrill ride that blurs the line between fiction and reality!

Our friend and theme park enthusiast Rick Brigante with Inside the Magic dropped by to let us know about the latest promotional campaign going on in Orlando for Universal's upcoming Transformers: The Ride 3D attraction. Similar to the campaign leading up to the ride's release at Universal Studios Hollywood, the Fairwinds Credit Union building in downtown Orlando has been outfitted with an 80 foot sign made to look as though Megatron took a stroll right through the building. Universal Orlando has also uploaded a YouTube video to go along with the campaign. We've embedded images from Inside the Magic and the Universal Orlando video below.

Brigante feels a grand opening announcement is just around the corner.

The shape reminds me of ROTF Megatron, which make less sense than using DOTM Megatron since the latter is in the ride.

I swear the Megatron in-ride changes between DOTM and ROTF. Or like a mix of both.

Rides should be the same for the SG & Hollywood one, but my observations were made in the SG ride.

When megatron fires the cannon straight at your face, he appeared to have a cannon arm, yet he had wheels on his legs, and chains around him like in DOTM.

At the end of the ride, where there is a full sized megatron hanging from the ceiling, it's obviously the ROTF model.

I just took a look at footage from the ride on YouTube. Looks like Megtron does have his ROTF cannon, like you say, but the rest of him looked to be his DOTM body.

At the end of the ride, though it's difficult to tell, the model Megatron looks to have a piece of a truck bumper on his torso like his DOTM body had, as well as a six-pack set of abs that the DOTM Voyager toy had.

The official Transformers facebook has announced the opening date for Universal Studios Orlando's Transformers: The Ride - 3D as June 20th!

And, OMG, that Megatron is a hoot! He's hilarious! "YOU CALL THAT DANCING! STARCREAM, DESTROY HIM! I'M EMBARRASSED NOT JUST FOR YOU< BUT FOR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY!"
