Me wonders if I should buy 30th Titan Metroplex and see if my hamsters would enjoy his base mode. Can picture one of them climbing up the chest ramp and making a lil bed in that chest compartment. Though that would probably be a heck of an expensive hamster toy...

Ok anyways back on topic. Yeah, Blaster will be a definite purchase for me IF he's Voyager class (or even just slightly bigger).

Probably not the best of ideas... But if it does happen, I demand photos!

Make sure you get some third party ramp extensions, though, as otherwise the stock ramp is too short to touch the ground, and has a back piece that would actually block entry into the chest compartment! Rather an unfortunately designed piece on an otherwise brilliant toy. And I'd hate for your hamsters to have their fun suffer because of it.

Exacty and this guy might be since he turns into a base. I am thinking of Leadr Optimus here from the first film who didnt have 5 mm holes in his wrists.

Good points. I should've been clear with my thinking: everyone with fist holes (Cyberverse/Legion Class and freaky handed Movie figures notwithstanding) uses 5mm holes. Even the larger-than-leader Combiners use them. AND, only one of three Leader class figures (Ultra Magnus) doesn't use them. Jetfire (and the Seekers) and Megatron both have 5mm fist holes.

So allow me to rephrase myself; if this rumored Blaster has fist holes, how much of a stretch is it to assume they are 5mm in diameter?

If not in their hands then often they have 5mm holes elsewhere particularly since the Mechtech stuff from DotM. It's a nice standard for re-using weapons on different figures (and using sliced up crazy straw to add 5mm posts on non-fitting weapons)

I so want this Blaster to be a voyager. Leader is too big for my collection and the character himself.

Universal Standard. And yes, there are 12,147.5 examples of figures that don't use STANDARD holes, but Buy'N'Large, it's a relatively safe metric. The better tell for me is not the size of the fisthole, it's the size of the fist in realtion to the hole. Bigger bot=bigger fist=more finger than whole. smaller bot=smaller fist=fist hole takes up most of the hand.

And again, there are little headmaster dudes on the base mode with all the posability of Brainstorm's Arcana guy, so I say we use THAT to measure.

I agree. My eyesight isn't the best but the little grey guy in the front looks a lot like Arcana to me. Maybe Brainstorm was 'testing the water' in a like manner to PCCs and FOC Bruticus eventually leading to CW; which is largely 'G1' with more articulation and less moulds. No ball-jointed necks on the artwork. I dunno, I want him to be about voyager size and I'll keep thinking he is until long after it's proved otherwise! ;)

More than anything, I'm curious to see how soon we'll get Titan Wars. We're getting at least two more waves of Crappy Repaint Combiner Wars in 2016 and it was announced at SDCC that Victorion won't be released until next Summer. I kind of hope we get the first wave of Titan Wars as early as May or June (Combaticons in December/January, Sky Reign Autobots in March/April), but I don't think that'll happen. I really don't want to wait until 2017 for Titan Wars, but it's more likely that they'll be held back until at least the last few months of 2016.

Yeah, we weren't really supposed to see Titan Wars just yet, as the backdrops used for some sets were the wrong ones, reportedly.

Worst Leak Ever!

I'm expecting another full year of Combiner Wars, with the later half revealed/leaked in... Q4 2015

Looking at that blueprint again, I would say that he not leader size, so unless they bring back ultra class, it's safe to say voyager.

Now I've been thinking on the fiction side of things, and what I would like to see is them take a leaf out of japans the headmasters series and have the big robots be lifeless transectors and the little guys be the bots themselves and in fiction, by the same size they always were but know they can combine with their transectors and become titan versions of themselves to fight their enemies.

Crazy? Absolutely. But for me this is just Sunday night thinking.

That idea doesn't sound too farfetched. In the blueprint art, the little Headmaster has the same speakers on his legs and a similarly designed chest to Blaster, so I can imagine a tiny Blaster Headmaster turning from robot to Big Blaster's head to a boombox that's in better scale with Deluxe Autobot cars. I can see it happening for sure, and it would be a good homage to the Headmasters cartoon.

The only thing I'm not digging so far on this "Headmaster" Blaster line art is the face sculpt for the fully formed "Transector." That doesn't look like Blaster, but more like that of the Blaster repaint from Cybertron Soundwave in the Universe 2008 line. The digitally colored mock-up seems to have a more familiar "Blaster" design for the head, though.

Only sometimes :P I reread the post and spotted a lot of spelling errors. I'm lucky people were still able to get the geist of what I meant

As for the point about the 2008 blaster repaint of Cybertron Soundwave, that's a good find as I only just noticed it, thought it was too angular to be based on normal blaster

Yeah, the more I'm looking at them the line art and Blaster the more I'm thinking it's the characters piloting giant versions of themselves (in story anyway) as their heads. That would certainly explain why Blaster's head robot looks like Blaster and why we have Optimus Prime's head on a very un-Optimus space shuttle body. I could even see them doing transforming, non-head mini figure two packs similar to the FoC data discs.

Third parties have already run with this idea, like these from a few years ago:

Amusingly Minimus Ambus would be bigger than the head versions.

The art always embellishes. That's nothing near what I'm saying.

My point is that this would be novel in my opinion, this would be weird enough to appeal to me; its origins are bizarre enough to be fun, and it'd surprise people. Call him Airstrip, perhaps?

Aw jeez. I hope it isn't doing the Transector thing. I never liked that, far preferring the 'buddy system' of a TF with their human/nebulan companion. Having his own giant face on his back is just all sorts of silly.
