Why didn't you just return it to the store? I take it you've not heard the horror stories of returning items directly to hasbro? If you get anything, you'll be lucky to get a RiD Grimlock for your troubles.

because there werent any left at the time (this was in that pre christmas period dry out where everyone was sold out, including distributors). And seeing as it was wave one, and wave 2 was double shipping soudnwave, I thought my best bet would be to ask hasbro, especially since I had only paid 20$ for prime.

eventually I found another prime and bought it and am still waiting for whatever leader hasbro decides to send to me. I will write to them now in fact.

That's good. I remember stories of people sending back figures after the first movie toys had been out for about a year or so. They'd send back a deluxe universe figure and get a 2007 Movie Legends Bumblebee.

As a General rule I'd recommend replacing a toy yourself before returning the broken one as you might get a different error on the replacement and you might need to juggle some parts to make a good one.

They always can, but if the toy you want replaced is sold out everywhere, what are you gonna do?

Well that was a smart move and some good foresight. I still think (in theory) that PMOP has his merits though.

And I regretted typing US release earlier in regards to Apexbombgod. Should have said "Hasbro release", as I don't want to exclude all our friends in all the other markets around the globe.

Also Apexbombgodbabyboo would be kind of pointless without Maginraiprime as he is just a box on wheels. Kinda has me worried about his release. A super duper Xmas time two pack would have made more sense.

I picked up this guy at Target today. I really like him. I think the Robot Mode looks fantastic and the alt modes are Wacky fun. No issues with mine that I've heard people complain about. One thing I know that people are saying the legs are loose. They are out of the box. You have to pull them forward until they snap in the pelvis.

I never really noticed before now but that Optimus headsculpt looks gorgeous.

The robot and truck modes are awesome, but the jet mode is awful and the lack of paint and use of stickers kinda sucks.

I agree with stickers. Sixshot has them and I find them atrocious. Paint apps were needed, what is this crap with poorly applied stickers

Yeah, that's my favorite part of the figure. Yes, the stickers are crappy, but I bet Reprolables will help with that. I think both alt modes are wacky and fun. The jet is hilarious.

The more I look at the gun, the more I'm convinced characters are inserted right after the initial concept. It's a dead ringer for Laser Prime's dual barreled gun, and Octane/Octone will have it too.

I picked him up yesterday evening as well, along with Voyager Megatron and Titan Masters Repugnus, Shuffler, and "Skytread." I'm pleasantly surprised by how fun he is, even if the airplane mode is pretty pathetic. I can hardly wait for the G2 repaint.

By the way, there IS some historical precedence for a jet/airplane Optimus Prime. The earliest concept sketches for Powermaster Optimus Prime show that he was originally going to be a Triple Changer! The truck cab would not only turn into the basic robot mode, but a jet as well! Hasbro is making also sorts of obscure Transformers historical references in Titans Return. First we got some obscure Japanese G1 characters a la the Titan Masters Lione/Sawback and Shuffler. Then we get a Titan Master Ramhorn who's head references an unproduced toy in the same vain. Now we have a possible point of inspiration for the Optimus pretool of Octane. I have to appreciate all the geeky Generation 1 love in the current design team.

Since we're on the subject of inspiration, Alpha Trion's horn may not be added just for show. I read that it's based on a Chinese legendary creature called the Xiezhi, used a symbol of justice and law.

So some (read:none) of you may remember that just a day or two ago I was pretty sure that my local department stores were due to restock with some glorious Wave 4 by Tuesday - and what would you know, they did restock!

On a more positive note, I'm still feeling pretty excited for these box-sets. Even with Trypticon there (and admittedly I didn't pay much attention to the movie toys), Magnus Prime totally stole the show for me and I'm super excited for him. I have a local collectable dealer on the case who'll hopefully be able to find some information at Australia's "Toy Fair" (happening in just over a week) about what can be done by those overseas. If I find out anything interesting from that, I'll report back here - you guys will be the first to know, straight from the horse's mouth! ...Into another horse's mouth, and then another one, and then into your guys' mouths... not really the most pleasing metaphor any more is it.

My Toysrus restocked with Wave 2, so you should feel better.

As for the boxsets, dont worry. The exclusive retailers only pertain to the US, there is no story or issue here. None of that applies to Australia or anywhere else. Liokaiser who was Entertainment Earth exclusive in the US was found at Myers in Australia, so there really is no relation. You wont need to import these sets, just like you didnt need to import any set from Combiner Wars

Speaking of box sets, does anyone dare to make predictions about future ones?

The current trend is that each set has one figure of each Size Class: Titan Master, Legends, Deluxe, Voyager and Leader. I think we may get at least two more, with Cloudraker and Wingspan to complete the Clones. And at least one of them will have a version of Godbomber/Iron Apex. The number of Leader molds is limited, only Blaster/Soundwave and Overlord/Sky Shadow are left (No Thunderwing I'm afraid, he's reduced to Titan Master Class). Here are the names tossed about in the rumor mill:

Heh, yeah, my situation really isn't that bad with TR so far - I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be thrilled to see some Wave 3 Deluxes on shelves! I guess I really have just been spoiled by the incredible (and uncharacteristic!) competence of local stores so far, that anything less than superhuman punctuality feels worryingly slow.

And though I was pretty sure that the boxsets were indeed only exclusive to those stores within the USA, a fair amount of the time "exclusive in America" can pretty much mean "exclusive to America" when it comes to actual distribution here. I didn't get Victorion until less than a month ago, didn't even see the Platinum Dinobots or Liokaiser until that same time too (the Dinobots at a video game store, no less ), and the closest ToysRUs is at least a few hours' drive away. If I can get these boxsets semi-directly for anywhere near the US retail price (case in point, I happily paid about $130USD for Victorion), I'll gladly do so. I mean heck, I'm still considering going $45USD in just to get a Brainstorm over eBay...

But really, I know I'm not in the worst way when it comes to TFs. Plenty of people better off than me, plenty worse off too - that's the way it is for most of us I imagine. And honestly at the end of the day, they're children's plastic toys, it's not like they're that important in the big pict- *shot for heresy*

I thought it was cute Optimus came in a Decepticon box (Galvatron was in an Autobot box), but it seems weird the OP head also has a purple; almost SG tinge to it. It's likely bad positioning - the purple looks more blue when pictured with the red. Apologies if this has been shown before. Posting mostly out of interest, not future character speculation.

I grabbed the wave 3 deluxes today as they finally showed up on the shelf. (no legends yet.) but I couldn't help but see the potential in triggerhappy. What an overall amazing design.

And that's not a bad idea, making new toys of the Powerdashers. Did you know they now have official names, based on Diakron and other European Diaclone import lines? They're called Aragon (F-1 Dasher), Cromar (Sky Dasher) and Zetar (Drill Dasher).

That's a nice 'bash, if I do say so myself! While I can't say I'd ever heard of the character before now, that Photoshop looks quite accurate to what I can find of him (and additionally, looks way cool to boot)! Though I must lament the lack of proper makeup - where's the big red nose? I'd totally buy a 3P add-on kit for a hypothetical Cromar that was just a little round red piece to slot over the nose.

(Additional fun fact! Apparently, according to multiple of the top Google Images results, "Skydasher" is also the name of Soarin and Rainbow Dash's hypothetical offspring. The more you know (and wish you didn't).)
