The way I see it; the clones and Titan Masters are consistently good but they're not enough to justify the price at all - they're nice little bonuses but make up 15% of the price at best. Therefore for me, at the very least either the Leader has to be appealing or both the Deluxe and Voyager have to be appealing to justify the price at all. This is kind of why the Velocitron set falls short for me; Quickswitch is not appealing in the slightest and he makes up half of the boxset's price. And then Nautica is such a bad representation of a great character all that leaves is Laser Prime with a couple cute bonus figures, which isn't worth the asking price.

Meanwhile, the Cybertron set looks incredible - Magnus Prime is an immediate win and while Tidal Wave looks pretty lame, Metalhawk's an awesome representation of the character based on an equally awesome mold. With the Voyager the only kinda stinker in the set - and even then it's an alright mold I could have fun transforming occasionally - this is one I'd be very happy to pick up at RRP.

I still feel this is a frustrating situation - there's bound to be at least one figure in here one won't find themselves enjoying; at least with the CW boxsets the full combiner was what mattered the most so even if there were one or two or even all figures you didn't like in the set, it'd be fine because you'd have that combined mode. Not having that for these boxsets - and the fact they have no unifying theme - makes them extremely tricky to justify buying.

I find fastclash to be the most lackluster out of them all but that doesn't mean he's a bad toy. I just have zero attachment to him. Same with laser Prime, like I said I've never cared for that deco but I think the set is worth it, $100 or $150 does it matter? If you find enjoyment as a whole than don't beat yourself over the price. I'm not wowed by 2 of the 5 but I still stand by my perchase: Like I said it is a store exclusive for the accumulative price of the individual figures combined. That's not bad at all considering how insane some platinum stuff was being sold at. 3 deludes fot $60-100 that are now being clearanced on sites because no one wanted to pay that price.

I mean, I'm not in a disastrous financial situation but I also don't have money trees in the backyard. So to justify buying one of these sets, I really do have to fret over the price.

I guess I'm kinda thankful for Nautica being like this actually. She's so bad and inaccurate I don't feel obligated to drop 100 for her

Fangry is clearly simple enough to make out of Twinferno and some have suggested they see Horribull in Skullsmasher.

One feature i'd like is to see all of them get ANGRY Faces or what ever is appropriate contrast to their existing ones and they would make such a great set up as they'd be able to wield their previous accessories as weapons which would look rather cool and make them pretty neat in their own way too.

I'd put this idea on the "to do later" list along with the beast Combiners plenty of people still want.

I wouldn't put too much thought or hope in getting deluxes of the Junior Headmaster cons because Titans Return is going to start to dwindle for Power of the Prime coming out by this fall/winter maybe. It's becoming apparent these box sets are to fill out the line for the ending(I wasn't expecting these to start coming out for another 3-5 months) and also let's remember the movie is coming out so movie stuff will be flossing out. I wouldn't be surprised if Slugslinger and Misfire are the last wave and we then get the other 2 box sets to be announced and the movie stuff with Power of the Primes launching for the holidays.

I could be 100% wrong and wouldn't mind because Titans Return is for me, one the best lines in 5 years. It trumps Combiner Wars so much and I loved combiner wars but for now I'm taking the last 2 box sets, Trypticon and misfire and slugslinger as the last of Titans Return for now.

There's still the entirety of Wave 6 aside from Slugslinger to be revealed. Voyager(s), Legends, Titan Masters, three Deluxes and possibly a Leader. There's a little bit to go just yet.

Totally understands and agree, I gotta work for my toys and I work 55-65 hours a week to put aside some "fun money" for this stuff and I get you don't wanna spend $100 for nautica if she's the only one that fancies you. Personally she's my favorite from the set, I don't need her accurate, I'm happy to have her. It's her character not how she looks in mtmte that I like, so she's great in my opinion. Windblade has now had so many damn toys id say hold out because this won't be the last Nautica toy we get.

Hey I'm just saying don't hold out on that. We've seen the movies kill stuff and we're pretty far into Titans Return now and we have the third part should be happening by the end of the year and we've also seen plenty of waves only come in twos by the end. Final wave of the first generations line ended with Black shadow and Junkheap and nothing else . Same with the 2013-14 line. Ended with Arcee and Chromia, just two deluxes, no legends, no voyagers.

Honestly though, aftermarketing the figure(s) you don't want is a good plan here. Unlike some BotCon sets there aren't really any total duffs like Ferak. There are a lot of Optimus collectors, Lost Light collectors, and Neo-G1 collectors out there. There's bound to be a buyer somewhere.

He doesn't have a seat or pegs for them. Is it a complaint? I guess if you interact your TM legends with them. I don't so it's no big deal.

YES! I was the first to buy one and they had 4 when I got there and I only got one. South side toysrus on SE 14th and Army Post by Hyvee.

I'm pretty sure it was Misfire that was Wave 5 and Slugslinger was Wave 6. Could be the other way round, can't remember off the top of my head.

Haven't seen anyone complaining; I'm just more confused since every other figure in the entire line has at least had a bare-minimum-effort in TM compatibility. Just a bit odd-one-out and it's confusing why that's the case.

One corner on mine was a little lifted but I just pushed it down and it stayed. I haven't messed with him much except turn him into boy mode.

He has G2 autobot logos which made me smile

Now, would someone who has the set please demonstrate what that looks like in practice? 'Cause I actually think it might improve Fastclash's vehicle mode look as well, filling in that giant gap there and making him look more solid. I'm very curious!

Fastclash is Rodimus' Chariot of awesome. Like the popemobile only not.

I think a lot of what we have heard suggests a blend over between lines - just as Combiner Wars boxed sets still came out after Titans Return had started. As I said before such a blend doesn't seem to make any difference with Legions at all.

There is not reason they couldn't make more data-pads if they wanted too they'd have the oddball vehicle modes and the data-pad mode would be an illustration of them shrinking or a nice bonus to those who already have Soundwave and Blaster.

Besides there is nothing at all stopping them making a gift set of Soundblaster and a gift set of Twincast in 2018 anyway with the various possible pads - even the repaints (though I would rather like a Ratbat data pad and some dinosaurs too).

I don't think there needs to be an excuse to make them - just make them. they have more justification than Cassettes and those still show up from time to time despite being decades out of date.

As for wolfwire as him and Mindwipe are quite hard to get some places putting them back in a wave isn't such a crazy idea really - though perhaps that makes more sense as a revision case - perhaps all throw Triggerhappy back in there sometime too as he's going to be even more popular to those who didn't get him already once the other 2 come out.

I can understand the practical difficulties in making a Titans Return Cyclonus (due to his bunny ears) but it would be nice to see him in adleuxe form again sometime as a complement to the Galvatron and Scourge toys - But maybe like Ultra Magnus they can slot him in somewhere in a way that complements the 2018 gimmick - perhaps as a Targetmaster instead.

I do think it's a terrible shame to not modify Generations Ultra Magnus a bit and make a Titanmaster version regardless if it's in The Powered Convoy Colours or some variation of the G1 colours.

Shame Costco don't do Transformers exclusives as much anymore as he'd be ideal for somewhere like that or indeed some sort of Combiner Wars Seekers like Redwing, Acid Storm or Sunstorm too.

Perhaps they can find a place to slot something like that in right before the end of Prime Wars in 2019 - I just think it would be nice is all i'd not mind something like that as the leader in a gift set - if they keep making the same sort of gift sets as they have been doing.

And like you, the Cybertron set looks killer. Agreed that Tidalwave is kinda lackluster, but he's passable. Pounce I feel has a better asthetic than Fastcrash, and Metalhawk looks ace using the Triggerhappy mold. Magnus Prime.....GIMMIE !

I agree with both of you. I can't WAIT for the Cybertron set to come out. It's basically getting the Takara Ginrai with a better paint job and 4 bonus figures for no extra charge, two of which (MetalHawk and Tidalwave) I've been really wanting the molds in some form anyway, so bring it on!

Nice! That makes me feel a lot more partial to Fastclash, actually. I'm a lot happier about planning to get him now (I would've had to anyway, since I really want the other box-set - and probably will want the other two likely-upcoming ones - but I can't possibly have one Clone without all four of them).

And actually, looking at that image it seems like you could even finagle a bit of a "mech mode" out of it! Bring the legs down 90 degrees so he can stand up while his body stays parallel to the ground; flip the shoulders down to robot mode position; take out the hands and position the arms as necessary - boom, walking mech-suit for a little Titan Master to clomp around in! Dunno if it'd actually stand up though, since the legs would be so far forward I feel like the center of gravity would be too far off. Ah well.

(Though upon further thought, to some extent every TR figure from deluxe upwards is technically a mech-suit for TMs depending on your angle on the fiction. )

If this is the case I'll be severely disappointed as I missed out on Wolfy the first time around and was really hoping to get him now. I just completed my OG Autobot Headmasters and he's the last one I need to complete the OG Cons. (Ironically, Wolfwire is the one I wanted most out of the first couple waves 'cause he's just a wittle pupper shnuppers, yes he is, yes he is!)

I don't think that the Wolfwire listing was a placeholder. Given that every other Deluxe from the first 2 waves has seen a re-release, it would make sense for WW to get one too - and I don't remember placeholder listings ever being a thing before, at least in TR? (I could be wrong on that though.) I'd say chances are still good of WW seeing re-release in Wave 5... the only thing then is, how many places are actually going to get Wave 5 in.
