I think what I love most about this isn't the figures or even that its Headmasters, but that we're also getting accesory figures and playset vehicles to go with the line, even extra Heamasters. Takara did it a little bit in G1, but as a limited fare. This, this is out of the gate.

All that said,

Galvy is AWESOME... except for his head. I get it, Megs as his Headmaster is an awesome nod to the canon, but I wanted a Galvatron with his own noggin, preferably attached. But that jet mode looks good, the turret mode is everything we wanted (lights? I can dream!) Ihad to go pick up CW Cyclonus just to go with this.

I GOT IT! Blaster isn't a base, he's a STAGE! And I really need small musicians now. Otherwise, not being a child of the 80s, the Boombox alt is not my favorite for Blaster, but I have a feeling I won't be able to pass this up when I see it.

Stripes is as painful to look at as Buzzsaw is. I can pull a better plane out of the Universe Ravage figure that came with Hound.

Rewind I like though, do I like him enough to replace the FOC rewind I've been using, we'll see. But hey, he looks like he has his head cam.

I may skip the loose headmasters, with no figures to go with them, but those headsculpts are AWESOME. Be cool if they were backwards compatible to G1... Oh, and Terribull is getting an Overkill repaint. If Hasbro doesn't do it, I will. 0

Everything else though, I pretty much love and is a buy on sight.

Mostly the latter. I wouldn't doubt that the Botcon screw up with the "Titan Wars" backdrop image on the Combiner Wars banner, along with the Blaster leak around SDCC time may have pushed them to show more than they otherwise would have a bit early. I also don't believe the "fall" timing, I think these will all be out or close to it by next April/May, which is only 7-8 months out.

I don't think we'll see a whole ton more today, I'd bet the bulk of this won't get seen until February's Toy Fair, but would be very pleased to be wrong about that.

That or Grotusque. Aside from that, and the tape cassettes, I don't see much repaint/reshell/remold/retool potential in what's been revealed so far. Hardhead, Skullcruncher, Galvatron, and Blaster seem pretty much set - maybe repaint them into different versions of the same characters, but aside from that, don't know what you could do.

I kind of wondered if we'd get something like:

Wave A: (Deluxe) Hardhead, Skullcruncher (Titan-Master) Nightbeat's head with accessories, and Terri-Bull's head with accessories.
Wave B: (Deluxe) Nightbeat, Terribull (Titan-Master) Hardhead's head with accessories, and Skullcruncher's head with accessories.

So if you buy Deluxe-Class Hardhead in the first wave, you have Hardhead's tank body and little head-dude. If you buy a later release of Titan-Master-Class Hardhead, you get another version of his head, to use with the Deluxe-Class Hardhead - maybe with a different facial expression - and a transforming accessory that somehow works with him as a weapon or partner? Seems like they would have mentioned that, though.

I wonder if there's a way to get Galvatron into a space pistol mode like the original? It wouldn't surprise me. Also, now we need a Cyclonus that has his head be Galvatron so we can reenact that on scene in the movie where Galvatron is in Cyclonus' cockpit flying him.

Headmaster Cyclonus with a Galvatron head so Galvatron can ride in his vehicle form......

Oooooh, a Vos-esque robot that combines with a dragon to form a T. rex that can turn into a gun? YES PLEASE!

So I'm guessing the eventual Siren and Nightbeat bodies will come with the other's heads for fiction accuracy, with these little guys being offered for those that want toy-accurate noggins (and/or those that lose the original heads).

I wonder if Horri-Bull would have the Vos-looking head in that case, swapping his with Squeezeplay or whoever it's supposed to be? Or if it's effectively the same, like how DotM Cyberverse re-sold the Commanders with different accessories? Not that I really care what Horri-Bull's robot head looks like, as long as he still turns into a Terror Dog I'm set.

Out of all of these, Hardhead is the only figure I'd really like to have. Skullcruncher, Galvatron an the Titan Masters look decent, but they're all things I think I can live without. I do hope a Soundwave retool of Leader Blaster is revealed at tonight's panel, and it would be great to see a few more Deluxes and Voyagers as well. I'd say the only truly bad figure in this line-up is Stripes, he just looks....bizarre. The mould won't make a good Ravage, it's a major step-down from Universe 2.0 Ravage.

Galvatron is lilac as far as I am concerned or at a push grey - the Bluray of the 1980's has made him look a weird colour lately, I was never happy with the colour of the Superlink and Energon ones either.

The paler less pinkish toned colours I think suits him better.

I like a combination of lilac and rey as its the best compromise between the G1 toy and the comics... the cartoon colours are all over the place and hard to pin down the 2nd release Mania king is pretty good though.

What if in the comics, Megatron, Blaster and others who weren't headmasters become the heads themselves to control titan versions of themselves? :-? That could also serve to have Nightbeat who is not a headmaster at all in fiction right now to become one!
Also,I seriously doubt they can lose the trademark to Horri-Bull, maybe they will eventually release his body with that name!
And voyager triple changer headmasters??? Guys, we're totally getting the Horrorcons ;)

Wow. I thought Nucleon was Galvatron's partner. It's Megatron? Awesome!

My impression is that the heads are "normal transformers scale" whereas the bodies are city sized.

The Megs/Galv thing should be fairly simple for the comics. Galvatron has a titan scale body he intends to become the head for. Megatron steals Galvatron's body and becomes its head instead... But merging with it drives him mad. Net result:

Megatron becomes Galvatron, insane leader of the Decepticons. But he has multiple personalities floating around in his body, a heroic Megatron combatting his body's evil influence.

I may also guess from this that Optimus Prime becomes the head of Powermaster Optimus Prime/Ginrai.

And Hot Rod will become the head of Rodimus Prime/Maximus.

I'd give them bonus props if they release Bombshell and Skywarp that both become Cyclonus' head.

And it looks like I called it that this would be a line with "spare heads" to cheaply represent other characters. Yeah, it may drive you crazy wanting their bodies too but I think this line will encourage mismatched heads and bodies and probably represent a lot of characters as heads that run around attached to whatever body they can find. Which will probably encourage things like Starscream running around as Fortress Maximus' head or Bumblebee becoming the head of Soundwave's Titan body.

I could be wrong, I think basically the figures are all the actual Titans, giant bodies based on smaller Transformers and the heads are full sized Transformers who run around stealing one another's giant bodies.

Or maybe the Transformers all get their heads turned into human sized robots and their bodies become suits.

I bet we'll see something like Arcee becoming the head of Elita One. (I'd be shocked if they had a little boy become Arcee's head again although Japan may do a redeco of, say, Elita One with Headmaster Arcee as Arcee with Headmaster Daniel.)

I have to disagree. Wave 4 of this year has only recently started hitting stores. (It still hasn't hit my area.) This means if Titan Wars came out just one wave later (Wave 4 2016) they might not be on many shelves by next year's NYCC.

I came so close to ordering FP Crox to go with my Not-Mindwipe and Not-Weirdwolf just a few days ago, but decided to wait a few days to see what NYCC had to offer. And man am I glad I did. Granted, Skullcruncher wont be as detailed or complex, but I'll gladly shell out $15 for a character I'm not overly attached to than $80.

And as for the rest, I'm liking just about everything I'm seeing. I can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend reveals!

Just being nitpicky here, but the name list and pictures are out of order. According to this John Warden demo william-james posted on one of the other articles (https://www.facebook.com/unicroncom/vid ... 326564912/), the purple dino is Crashbash. Based on colors and face, Terribull is the quad-cannon tank. Nightbeat is obviously the blue & yellow one.

I'm guessing then that "Loudmouth" is a trademark-able Siren?

That could be fun.

It'd be a good way of bringing Megatron back around as Decepticon leader, without undoing/erasing/ignoring all of his character development over the past 10 years.

Not that I really *want* them to bring him back to being Decepticon leader, I'm just saying, if that's what they wanted to do, it'd be a good approach.

I suppose to be fair, candidates for Decepticon leadership is running thin, so if they want to change things up, they may go that route. Overlord: Dead, Jhiaxus: Dead, Ratbat: Dead, Megatron: Redeemed, Shockwave: Redeemed and Dead, Straxus: Relegated to role of forgettable dude from the Dead Universe. Thunderwing: supposedly dead but not confirmed, I guess. Bludgeon was in sort of the same situation. Scorponok was arrested by Magnus, but there wasn't any mention of him when Garrus IX was 'liberated' by Overlord. I guess there's Deszaras and Gigatron, too, not to mention Tarn, and Soundwave could get a promotion/upgrade to Titan Soundblaster with a Leader Class retool from Blaster. Okay, so there's a fair number of choices there...

From a storyline POV.. There's a lot of interesting possibilities... Even though overlord is dead.. Titan wars would be the line to bring him to the toy shelves... As a fool to power master Optimus.
As well worth mentioning.... Even though the displayed items may not land until next summer...we're likely to see more previews.. It seems Hasbro has clearly taken note of 3rd party and are trying to put compete them by timing similar product to push them out of the market... Skull cruncher.. Head masters... Galvatron...blaster..combiner wars.. I think it was one thing when 3rd party just made accessories but actual decent renderings of their characters...hmmm.. Hasbro was bound to take note

This likely makes Rodimus a good contender, especially with Galvatron, a name like Prime Wars, Takara pushing out a MP Hot Rod.

Here's my take especially based on the Devastation game, which hints at Unicron's arrival:

Combiner Wars - Big Robots
Titans Return - Bigger Robots
3rd Prime Wars - The Biggest Robots + Upgraded forms of characters

I think we'll see Rodimus re-enter the picture in Titans Return in a Hot Rod-type form.

I think the 3rd Prime Wars is leading us to Unicron (probably in a bigger scale than we've seen before) but I see another aspect to that.

I think we're building up to a line where Optimus dies (again). But based on the spoilers we have, my prediction is that we'll get multiple Primes, multiple revamped characters, and maybe multiple Unicron upgraded characters as a whole enemy faction.

I figure PW3 will unite Autobots and Decepticons as the heroes against a third Unicron faction.

I'm leaning towards a mix of Autobots and Decepticons serving Unicron this time. I have a feeling we might get Sideswipe as one of the Autobots who turns.

Rodimus and a council of Primes. The second tier made up of upgraded scouts. Maybe this is where we see Bumblebee's new identity alluded to in the game (the game gives a name for Bumblebee's forms, including two besides Goldfire and Goldbug).

And then on the other side, heroes and villains reformatted by Unicron. The game hints that Sideswipe risks corruption in his future. The Fallen and Galvatron figuring prominently.

Maybe end the whole climactically enough to do a relaunched/rebooted Beast Wars after this trilogy wraps up. I also wouldn't be surprised if the later theatrical Transformers releases being planned (they have 3-4 more planned, right?) includes a Beast Wars live action.

And this is IDW, and it's stuff is very different from Devastation. That is just a game. This is the mainline transformers comics :BOT:

Terri-Bull is Horri-Bull, Crashbash is Squeezeplay, Loudmouth is Siren, and they along with Nightbeat won't be getting proper big bodies to call their own. Bummer.
