It's a great figure, and an even better torso, go for it man, you won't regret it ;)^

I already have a CW Cyclonus. I was just saying why I decided to keep my CW Cyclonus instead of getting a Universe 2.0 Cyclonus and that I am going to be displaying him with Titans Return Galvatron and Scourge.

Yeah, he would scale well with TR Galvatron, not so sure about Scourge

I hope distribution isn't as strange with Titans Return. I'm personally exited for Galvatron and Scourge, mainly because I already have CW Cyclonus. For those who are saying "get Universe 2.0 Cyclonus and the older Generations Scourge, they're a 1,000,000 times better," I don't feel like going on EBay for an older figure when I already have a recent figure of one of those characters and a new figure of the other one is coming out soon. Universe 2.0 Galvatron also sucks.

I hear you. But I would still get Universe Cyclonus only because unlike the others you mention, its his own unique mold. And plus, he would be in scale with the new TR Scourge and hes not that expensive. Or else you end up with a voyager Galvatron, a voyager Cyclonus and a deluxe Scourge. Dont know how you might feel about it.

Also, if you care, those exact figures are being rereleased this year so no need of going on e-bay if you dont want to:

I don't really care about scale at all. I am fully aware of the Platinum set, but I can't really afford Platinum sets and that one just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Edit: I also kinda like the idea of Galvatron and Cyclonus being taller than Scourge. I don't know why.

Actually, according to the Sunbow Generation 1 cartoon models, Scourge IS quite a bit shorter than Galvatron and Cyclonus. Cyclonus is actually the tallest of the trio, believe it or not. A deluxe sized Scourge is pretty much in scale with CW/UW Cyclonus and TR/TG Galvatron. :)

Image

There are larger versions of this chart out there, but this will have to suffice for now. Scourge, Cyclonus, and Galvatron are the last three on the four row down, directly to the left of Trypticon.

Image

Another chart also shows this same size relationship. This time, Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge are on the bottom row to the right of Predaking (but not directly next to him).

Is that an official scale chart? I thought scale just plain didn't exist in G1? I've also personally never really cared about scale, anyway.

Yes, it is official (as far as I know), it was just eschewed often because it was easier to just sneeze misshapen lumps onto the screen instead ;)

The bigger one is a fan-crafted chart cobbled together from several official scale guides, with the second one being one such official chart.

My brother had that one. It was sweeet! Fire station to battle tank mode! I had the gravel pit(or whatever it was) that turned into a wind turbine. Which was... considerably less awesome

If these secondary base modes are more solid than fan mode Fort Max then I might actually have to pick them up.

The scale is a guide for animators doing the old show, not for the toys.

So if anyone applies it to the toys, it's entirely subjective. So you can use it or ignore it.
There are other scale charts out there for toys and characters, but they are mostly fan made stuff.

The simplest scale is that each individual toy line, or each Transformers show/Universe has IT'S own scale that applies in that line, but not to other lines.

So IDW Metroplex (and every character in its own universe) for example is a totally different scale to G1 Metroplex who is a different scale to FOC Plex who is a different scale of Marvel Comics Metroplex.

Scale applies to its own universe, whether toon, comic, movie or toy line. However with multiple toys at different sizes, the manufacturers use any form of scale as a loose guideline and make whatever the hell they want at whatever size they want.

But then isnt that perfect for people who are hoping to recreat the scale of the show with the toys they have? I thougt that was the whole point of this discussion.

Video Reviews - Transformers Titans Return Scourge and Skullcruncher

Postby Va'al » Thu Jun 09, 2016 3:55 am

Fellow Seibertronian Doctor McGrath points us in the right direction, so you can enjoy the embedded video below, and brush up on your Chinese skills as you take a look at the toys!
