Oh, they still sell TFs. It's just usually only lower tier stuff like 1-Step Changers.

Mine barely sell toys at all; I remember that they had the old bohrok-va's from bionicle, they had an exclusive deal to get the mask of time, so they did actually have good exclusive deals way back when

Fellow Seibertronians, do you all remember when we broke the news that Titans Return Brainstorm was originally going to be an SDCC exclusive?

Another Titans Return related tidbit that warrants mentioning is the exclusivity of Titans Return Brainstorm. While we knew it was coming first as part of a SDCC exclusive set, there was an assumption that he would also get an individual release. However, an older interview with Hasbro surfaced on our boards with them saying that this Blurr retool was currently only planned to be available in this exclusive box set and would not be sold individually. While this wasn't known for certain, this shouldn't be such a big surprise since none of the rumours and confirmed Titans Return waves for 2017 include Brainstorm as a solo release.

Well, worry no more, as according to Steven Ganne's twitter account - and thanks to our own jamesbenjamin, Brainstorm is not only packaged for retail release already, but is exclusive to Walgreen's. As a toy distributor for Walgreens, they seem to have gotten their hands on at least 2 Brainstorms, as can be seen below. This should ease some of the anticipation surrounding the apparent exclusivity of the figure. So, check out the photo and comments on his twitter feed, and let us know what you make of it in the comments below.

I never doubted that he would get a single release. I mean, this is the same company that said last year: "We have no plans for Computron", yet look where we are now.

I know for a fact they said (coyly) the exact opposite

I tweeted at the Walgreens guy and he cheekily confirmed its their exclusive.

Neat. I wonder if this will become an ongoing thing for the Transformers brand since Walgreens has 2-3 Marvel Legends (another Hasbro line) exclusives per year. This could work for Transformers as well.

According to a TFW2005 member, a listing for Brainstorm has been in the computer for two months now.

It's just the same character. I don't think the toy itself even has a name in the packaging or instructions. The identity of it still being Payload was given at BotCon this year.

But, hey, it's one more new modern day toy for an obscure G1 Micromaster. Not many other Micromasters can brag about having more than one new modern day toy release. Lucky ol' Blast Master.

Walgreens is like non existent here in Canada (at least for Alberta) and I'm sure it's one of those USA exclusive stores so most people will not be getting a Brainstorm.

Generally how exclusives work is that they'll all be available in some store in your country.
So it's exclusive to Walgreens in the US. Here in the UK it might be exclusive to, say, Smyths. And for Canada... uh... one of your stores I've never been

Yeah I remember back when I was in Louisiana and I saw Beast Hunters deluxes and commanders at Walgreens. My parents didn't let me get any though.

Its a Walgreens exclusive in the states, could be picked up by another company in canada. TRU picked up all the slack from the target exclusive as soon as target left. And Walmart picked up the a Kmart exclusive. So it could very well be that any of those picks up this brainstorm figure in Canada. Dont lose hope guys.

This should be an interesting hunt, but a worth it hunt if I can get Brainstorm. The way it's looking, it kinda seems like Brainstorm might come out at a random time, and not whenever a specific wave comes out.

Also, if worse comes to worst, the online stores will surely get their hands on some too. I know that will probably cost more that brick-and-mortar, but surely that's better than yesterday when the apparent choices were 1/4 of a convention box set or not at all.

(I bring this up because I plan on going online anyway; the Walgreens around me don't typically carry Transformers, whether exclusive or not.)
