Hm! I can't help but feel that'd destroy what little illusion there is that the train isn't just Sentinel doing the split... but it would allow me to pretend he's this guy:
Too bad I sold both of the Legends Megatrons that turn into tanks.

I am feeling the same way. That toy does so much stuff right. I dont need him to be a triple changer but I dont mind, it doesnt take much away from the figure. The headmaster gimick however really gets in the way of this toy looking great. It really looks like 2 distinct parts and the galvatron head doesnt really come together, which is a real shame since that is one of the most integral aspects to a TF's identity. Still, would this be the best official Galvatron we have gotten so far? Or would the Energon version still take the cake.

Energon, easily. Looks way cooler, and like proper Galvatron. I'd much rather get that than this new one

Even if his alt mode isn't a canon and his articulation isn't as good?

Very good. It's irritating to think how much of a problem scalping has become for steps like this to be taken, mind
Yeah, they're cancer, they need to go
Unfortunately they'll never go away because there are still people out there desperate enough to pay the insane prices they ask for.
Yeah, they're both pretty sad; Just wonder how much more walgreens charges for their exlcusives? Also wonder if bbts and the like will get any, and if so, how much more on top of the exclusive price might that be

Their Prices are ok, but the main problem is employees buying the stock out and selling it on eBay. Walgreens is aware and asks people to inform them of this happening.

What, they do that! Man that is just complete douche
No. No it is not. At least, not in the sense of celebrating the "niche" and "obscure". It is a mass appeal event, meant for the widest array of nerd culture there is. The con is an international event, regularly drawing crowds from all over the world from all walks of nerd life.Hellscream9999 wrote:Seriously - and I mean this legitimately - isn't sdcc the ultimate nerd-fest, to celebrate niche, and relatively obscure things from nerd culture?

Every SDCC from 2011 to date has had its centerpiece Transformers exclusives be an item or items that appeal on a more mainstream level that the majority of adult Transformers fans would recognize:The extra-painted version of Fort Max with the toy-accurate Cerebros head fits right in with SDCC TF exclusives being of characters who are highly recognizable to both longtime and average adult collector TF fans alike. The likes of Grand Maximus and Brave Maximus are, by comparison, far less recognizable, as an enormous portion of the fandom has never seen (or even heard of) Masterforce or the 2001 RiD cartoon.
- 2011 had both a specially-packaged version of DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime and a version of Prime First Edition Deluxe Optimus Prime in special Matrix of Leadership that one could wear and show off to people.
- 2012 had the all new FOC Bruticus combiner done up in a game-accurate deco that not only appealed to fans of the game but to fans of G1 Bruticus, whom the game-based deco helped the figure to more strongly resemble (this figure was highly sought after before people realized how iffy the molds were).
- 2013 had the uber-shiny toy-accurate redeco of Titan class Metroplex that came with two red guns instead of one.
- 2014 had both the Knights of Unicron set that featured four big name Transformers characters done up in a theme that paid a loving homage to heavy metal/rock 'n' roll music lifestyle of the past, and the G1-colored Dinobots set that also featured a playset of the Ark.
- 2015 had the super shiny, super extensively painted redeco of Titan class Devastator, complete with a unique toy-accurate headsculpt
It was BotCon that allowed the niche and obscure to have their time in the spotlight. Or Japanese exclusive releases like from e-HOBBY or Million Publishing.

Pretty sure it's possible, probably what the black thing on the top of the ship mode is for
Technically, any TF figure can be an unofficial quad-changer with enough fan mode imagination.Stuartmaximus wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Stuartmaximus wrote:Hold on....with Galvatron can't you form an unofficial alt mode laser gun/pistol with it

Aye, coz I remember someone did that with CW Megatron
so then....unofficially....that would make Galvatron a Quad Changer
