Twinferno is a really fun figure, but heads up on the hips for the transformation to beast mode, especially for your son. They can be really tough to get pegged in correctly the first time, requires a bit more force than most figures and they peg in at a weird angle on top of that. In fact, the first few times I transformed him I didn't have the hips done correctly and did realize it, and thought it was just a bad floppy design. Getting the hips correct makes all the difference. Hope he enjoys it. The good news is once you get them pegged correctly once or twice, it becomes a bit easier.

This happened to me when I placed my order for Trypticon from them back in August. I bought him and Fortress Maximus as part of their Buy One, get one 40% off promo. They quickly shipped me Fort Max, but never shipped me Trypticon and after about 30 days my order got canceled. I called them and said I did not want the order cancelled, that I was willing to wait for him to come back in stock, but they said that is what they do, and all I could do was to sign up to be notified when it was back in stock. So I did that, but needless to say I was not happy as I felt like I was going to miss out on getting him for a pretty good price (less than $150.00 anyway). Then I got an email from TRU last week saying he was back in stock. I called them, explained to them what had happened, and they wound shipping me Trypticon not for 40% off, but for 50% off, $74.99 plus tax. I received him yesterday -- I haven't opened him yet!

I doubt they'll get Arcee back in stock since she was a HASCON exclusive, but you never know. If they do, it's worth calling them. But as far as cancelling the order, they said that is what they do when they don't get it back in stock, even if you request to keep the order open. In fact, any item I've ever ordered from TRU that has been backordered has been cancelled by them after 30 days or so. I guess if they haven't actually charged you for the item until they ship it, they feel there's no need to keep an order open beyond 30 days. It's a bad policy in my opinion -- I ORDERED the item because I WANT the item, even if it's back ordered. I'm willing to wait. But they don't see it that way, which is why I don't make a habit of buying things from Toys R Us anymore.

But not with a credit card. Maybe that has something to do with is

Looks like TRU has ordered a single shipment, and they've all but gone at an unexpected pace. We can't blame this on scalping this time around, as a limit has been set to 2 per household.

Things don't look good for Grotusque...

You would have thought that based on the pre-orders they would have ordered more.
But if they only ordered a single shipment, then surely they should have cut the pre-orders off.

Perhaps they intended to order more, then the bankruptcy issue occurred and they scaled back their order AFTER the pre-orders ended.

... which I think they did. I checked the listing a few days prior and it said "Can't add to Basket".

It's also possible that it's leftovers from Hascon, and less than anticipated to boot.

O well, it's all done now. I may have to find another way to die-casty goodness.

Hey, that's okay. Toys R Us also cancelled their budget!

And right now $150 doesn't look that bad for Grotusque. Yes it does.

I found an Australian dealer that could do Grotesque for $80AUD.

I balked at that.

It cant be an ordering issue since its a TRU exclusive at this point. Its like when people worried about Walgreens not ordering enough of Brainstorm or the upcoming clones, it all goes to one retailer. So you arent ordering how much you want of something you are option for selling that particular product and stocking it. Hasbro cant have any left, everything will go to the retailer.

It could be that instead, this is all thats left, that would make more sense. Especially since there were a few goes at this figure and Toysrus ends up being the second retailer to get this.

And it wouldnt be about bankruptcy since the Toysrus doesnt pay upfront on orders and its more the sellers who were iffy about supplying TRU with Product, not TRU being iffy about ordering (TRU has nothing to lose at this point, their sellers do). And Hasbro had confirmed that they were doing business as usual so it wouldnt be that.

The fact that any american can stil currently preorder her right now at TRU (and that some who got this message did do this) points to this being simply a digital logistics issue with payment methods and nothing more.

wow this is bs. i thought i finally had the thing. all i had to do was wait for the preorder to get shipped. now this happens. with this much time gone by they will be even harder to find now. thanks alot tru. this must be part of the new strategy they have to stay in business.

Yep, my one Arcee was canceled, but I just went back and ordered another one and ended up basically getting a second one free by finally getting Broadside. Technically Broadside was the free item, but I couldn't decide on a third item for the B2G1free sale so I added a second Arcee (some future bartering leverage). So yeah, it worked out better in the end.

There was actually a bunch of stuff I would have preferred over a second Arcee, but just about everything in the same price range is sold out. There's really no way to ship to store at TRU? I'm going to be there Friday and wanted to get something that was listed for "store pickup" and just pick up everything at once, but I guess that isn't an actual option. So what's the point of the option, just to tell me something is available in store? Seems kind of dumb since it probably doesn't actually represent everything in the store. Oh well, guess I'll get my Infernocus Friday.

I believe you can only do store pickup at TRU with items they actually stock in stores and Arcee is an online only item. I was able to do this with G2 Primus back when it was it was on sale online only, but the actual stores also stock G2 Primus. No such luck for Arcee.

I know of a few that were picked up to help out collectors outside of the US.

I find myself using the Chaos on Velocitron Rodimus TM on the recent TR Hot Rod bod 100% of the time -- I like it enough that I will skip PotP Roddy...but will buy that Rodimus Unicronus. Goatees always make a villain's look complete.

I'll admit I was hoping to see a new Ratchet, through TR/Generations....we got one for RiD, but I wanted a reason to not hunt that Universe or MP incarnations down.

Investing? This isn't a RID Bumblebee, she's the only Headmaster Arcee ever made, she will gain value well past the $25
Trading? Not everyone has access to this figure so it makes for good trade fodder.
Selling? See Trading.
Or just because it's a great looking box and people want both a complete MIB version and a loose one to play with.

He is coming to a retailer, but that retailer has yet to be identified. We assume its TRU, but it could be BBTS or Walmart or whoever.

I am sure we will get another Ratchet sooner or later, hes a very important character to not be redone yet (along with Sideswipe) so if we dont see him in POTP, he will be in whatever else they have planned on their roadmap to 2021.

Similar thing happened to me last year with some neca figures on 2 separate occasions, TRU either needs to fix there preorder thing or just stop doing it.
