Jinbu arrived today.

Opened it up, saw an Arms Micron sprue, heart sank as I realized that there was somehow a defective first-run Jinbu still lurking around and I got hit with it.

Why did I do this to myself? Even in a best-case scenario, this is gonna SUCK...

But isnt is just bad assembly? Cant you reassemble it correctly?

Indeed, all you need to do is switch the thighs, which can be done with a simple Phillips screwdriver (and taking the whole leg apart...). Here's a guide:

It's a more intricate repair than I've ever attempted before, and my hands aren't the steadiest. Plus I'm worried I'll strip one of the screw heads by misjudging the proper screwdriver size. I've done that once before.

EDIT, WHICH AFTERWARDS WAS EDITED AGAIN: Yep, there we go. One screw head, shredded into complete and utter (the only word I couldpossibly use here got censored)-ing unusability with the same screwdriver that worked just fine on the others, right when I'm halfway through taking the damn thing apart. And then getting the non-ruined leg back together was WAY harder than it should have been. My hand hurts. I feel like an idiot. A sad, angry idiot.

JIS is the standard for screw heads in Japan.

Similar to our phillips but not exact.
Here is it how it applies to our toys.

So using US tools on Japanese toys will usually lead to skipping/ shredding issues.
Sometimes immediately, sometimes over a long period; depends on multiple factors.
You can find JIS sets, on the cheap, on eBay, Amazon and most computer part sites.

So, its not you, it just happens to be the tool measurements, hopefully...

Just received my reissue G1 dinobots Slag, Snarl and Sludge. I still have my original G1 Grimlock, all are 100% complete. Now I only need a G1 Swoop.

"Reissue"? They were never reissued officially, just KO'ed. But in the case of Swoop you may have to resort to a bootleg considering his fragility. Still nice you got them

Yeah I was wondering about that, but they look just like the real deal. They even have TAKARA (C) 1980-1984 on them heh. And they're so nice and shiny
I'll settle for a KO G1 Swoop if I can find one.

just got PotP Optimus today. I like Orion Pax, but the other modes just dont hit me quite as well. Ultimately i think Rodimus turned out to be the better of the two

Thanks, wish I knew that before it was too late. No clue what to do now. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestion. Is there a place to get replacement screws of the proper size and color?

Just so I know for the future, would the screwdriver thing also apply to installing batteries in Kenzan and the other electronic Go figures??

Anything that has JP manufacturing spec origins will require the JIS drivers.
I would strongly urge you to get a set ASAP if you want to properly adjust any of your GO figures.

No doubt. I went through this myself about 10 years ago and it took a year or 2 to get this worked out.
Finally, someone on a forum dropped the knowledge on me and i got a set cheap.

So this is my chance to pay that info forward.

Thanks to a surprise 25$CAN gift from Hasbro and Toys R Us, this club member got his TLK leader Dragonstorm for less than 30$CAN plus taxes! Nice that these surprise coupon can be applied on toys that are already on sale. No way I was getting Leader Dragonstom for 70-75$CAN plus taxes. But for the price of a voyager? Don't mind if I do!

I've yet to unpack him and try him out, but so far, it seem nice based on reviews. It will also fit pretty well into my dino/dragon movie knights display.

Be careful with unpacking him, there have been reports of heads snapping off if done improperly.

Today I finally reacquired a figure I was forced to sell almost 7 years ago due to financial issues. BotCon 2011 G2 Sideswipe has returned to me. He completes my anti-Stunticon set of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Arcee, and Lockdown.

My nostalgic purchase for today was a VHS copy of Villains (The Ultimate Doom). Yes, I said it. VHS.
