I dunno about over your way, but from what I've seen on E-Bay AU and AU Facebook groups, even junker Metroplexes aren't cheap.

They appear often enough at the car boot sales and some been brought into my local charity shop at times and usually get thrown out. I knew i shoulda grabbed that top half of Metro missing his arms and both head antenna i saw in the charity shop sorting pile last year. :P

I wish there were car boot sales and charity shops like yours around my way. Seriously, car boot sales are basically non-existent, garage sales are normally a bust, and charity shops? HA! All the good quality stuff is shipped to the larger stores in bigger areas.

Some day though ... some day I'll stumble onto the garage sale that has me leaving my girlfriend as collateral while I race to the bank. Image

For a charity shop in a lil town like mine it has some pretty awesome retro stuff come in occasionally. In past few years have had good as new 80's TMNT toys including the Party Wagon all complete with no wear or tear, along with a range of Biker Mice and Bucky O'Hare figures again in great condition. A couple months ago they had a bunch of original Star Wars stuff come in and they were throwing away the vehicles and selling a bag of 35 figures for £5 (most complete with accessories) and I told them they're worth way more than that (even though I'm not a Star Wars fan so not an expert at all) and so I auctioned those off on eBay and gave them the money (which was about £350 after ebay/paypal/postage fees) and said I could keep whatever the vehicles sell for (the Falcon is a junker but the AT-ST was near mint and a few other little vehicles in good condition too). My favourite was when a bunch of Real Ghostbusters stuff came in. All four Ghostbusters, Janine, Slimer, Stay Puft, a bunch of crazy ghosts, Ecto-1 and the Firehouse all in great condition (the Firehouse and Ecto-1 looked perfect with no sticker fade or wear). This was back before they had me eBay for them so they sold them on eBay themselves but they let me spend the afternoon playing with them in the back of the shop as I had so wanted the Firehouse when I was a kid but never got it. :P

It's also where I got that complete Optimus Maximus combiner team for £15 (ebayed them off seperately cos i was broke) and got a few other bargains for my personal collection. Is also where I buy my clothes cos there's nowhere else I can get to and they're cheap there :P

Also have twice got a Nintendo 3DS there for £5 each (first one was an XL with no games and the 2nd was a regular 3DS with 4 games of Mario/Pokemon etc) but turns out I can't stand playing on these things (I much prefer my PSP and Vita) and don't like modern Nintendo stuff so again auctioning for the charity to help fund the new theatre/community centre project. :)
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

@ Carnivius;

Props on the Metroplex score; amazing price and the box is a sweet extra, especially with the extra hustle of walking it back.

Yeah, Goodwill is crap. It's pretty well known that anything that might actually be worth anything short of furniture goes to either the website or eBay. They use to just sell everything that comes through their doors for dirt cheap, but now they check the prices online to see if they're worth anything. Never find anything there, broken or otherwise, at best I find the non-transforming McDonalds toys.

Dunno why I didn't check Metroplex's right moob storage yesterday but I did today and these things were crammed in there so tight they had no room to rattle when handling Metro (which is why I didn't realise anything was in there)

Appears to be Grapple's left fist, Wheeljack's rocketlauncher and rocket, and the Gobot Flip Top. :O Randomness.

Hey Shaj - is Jetfire's packaging really big and bulky, or is it really heavy? I got hit with sticker shock on the shipping price for the figure. Amazon Japan's shipping price is about the same as the figure itself.

First Gaiking, now Raideen, I didn't realize you were such a big fan of the classic super robots. What's next, Grandizer or Getter Robo (I assume you already have a Mazinger of some sort)?

Also a Bakudora, the best of the deluxe oni. Ripclaw was nice too, and we should have gotten a Ser-Ket, but this guy's got style.

Yup complete for $13. You can see the bag full of accessories to the far right of the image.

To be honest, Grandizer is the only one I knew until a little while ago, since he is a big deal in Quebec (where he is known as Goldorak). Cobotron told me about these and another local friend was selling some for cheap (that Gaiking set was $70 and this Reideen was only $47) so I jumped on them. I am discovering these characters now, through these modern toys and I am currently watching the 2005 Gaiking Legend of Daiku Maru anime, which is quite fun.

I am a big fan of all robots, especially transforming ones and I was glad to have a chance to experience these without breaking the bank.

Goodwill did get the platinum blaster and perceptor set (which Canada never got) for a ridiculous price:

And yes, some did go to e-bay but I fail to see how its a bad thing. The first thing fans did when they saw the sighting was complain that their goodwill didnt have it. So thanks to goodwill putting it on e-bay every american could get this $100 set for only $45. Thats a better discount from a thrift store than I ever got in all my time collecting.

I'm usually late to the party, and this time is no exception. I just got my hands on PotP Blackwing. He promptly joined Dreadwind as Galvatronus's legs. I thought Dreadwing is a flimsy design, they're only connected by a single peg. Unless I did it wrong.

But getting another Con jet just reminds me of Hasbro's screwup in not giving us deluxe Skywarp and Thundercracker in either PotP or TR to go with Starscream's torso mode. Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Dreadwind and Blackwing would have been a perfect opposite to CW Superion, even if the combiner didn't have an origin in fiction.

First off, when stuff like this shows up in the stores it's usually in a small region of stores, occasionally even just one store. In this case they act more like a liquidator than a second hand store which makes them no different from any other regional liquidator, it's hardly a normal find. The only new items I've ever found at Goodwill is the same dollar store stuff they sell at the Dollar Tree next door, but for twice as much.

Second this is entirely different from what we're talking about. In the old days if, say, these T-shirts came into the store they'd stick them on the rack for a couple bucks and that would be the end of it. Now they stick them on eBay for $10+ even though most of them aren't worth anything. I get that they need to make money where they can, but it makes it impossible for any of us to find a good deal in the stores anymore when they're cherry picking like this. Goodwill stores, at least the ones around me, are basically junk shops now, everything's worn out and broken. Gently/barely used isn't a thing there anymore.

Same here. Wave 2 was scheduled to be on shelves in April so I wouldn't be too worried yet.

Finally got my big box from AmiAmi. Took a long time to leave Japan, then my mail carrier refused to deliverer it, stating nobody was home to sign for it despite there being two of us home (they did the same thing back in January) and also forgot to leave a post card which was a little annoying. I went to pick it up in person today and they couldn't find it anywhere, only for it to be right being the front desk and somehow two people didn't notice the huge box from Japan.

Anyway, box contains God Fire Convoy, Movie the Best Nemesis Prime, and Legends Topspin and Twintwist. I didn't realize how big that GFC box is, it take up the entire bottom of the shipping box. I'll crack into that tomorrow, I don't care if it's defects, I'm still excited.

On a side note, the whole thing came to $406 after shipping. I used my debit card to handle the exchange, PayPal wanted $427, it's pretty crazy how much the gouge on the exchange. Also I priced all of these through TFSource and they came to $445, nice savings!

9,120JPY ($80). It was cheaper shipping them together since God Fire Convoy alone cost the bulk of the shipping (about 5,000jpy) going by the shipping chart. Normally I prefer much cheaper SAL shipping and just waiting, but Nemesis Prime doesn't qualify thanks the MtB Leaders coming in long boxes (MtB Megatron was 3,505jpy to ship at the same size and weight which also lead me to combine shipping with lighter stuff back in February). All together the two Legends shipped for less than SAL.
