Jim S of allspark.com has posted unused and unseen bio's of the Transformers Universe Omnibot characters Downshift, Overdrive and Camshaft.

Posted below are the shortened Bio's, click the links below to visit each characters individual full length Bio page.

Camshaft

Function: Road Warrior
“The road is no place for the weak”

Has no fear of car accidents—can pulverize any vehicle that approaches within 4 inches. Reckless driver due to arrogant self-confidence. Unconcerned with humans’ safety. Aggressive in battle car mode rear fenders convert to powerful fists capable of 30 punches per minute and trunk turns into high-energy plasma beam projector...same weapons in robot mode. Loses driving control when using weapons in car mode.

SKl: 6

Downshift

Function: Air-Defense
“If war is the only reason to live, then living isn't worth it.”

Fought for so long on .Cybertron he wondered whether to continue... nothing pleased him until arrival on Earth ...here he delights in everything...all fresh and new to him...likes children...calls them mini-men and mini-women. Has magnetic-guided ground-to-air rocket launchers on shoulders in robot mode... also can be used in car mode...30 mile range … rust rifle weakens foes with stream of liquid oxidizing agents. Not effective versus non-ferrous foes.

Overdrive

Flying Trooper
“The race is not important; the finish line is.”

Road-racing his passion--considers it Earth's main cultural advantage over Cybertron. Only cares about winning … he'll fly to win a race, do whatever's necessary to win a fight. Goes 190 mph in car-mode...can sprout wings from doors and fly...range 700 miles ... speed 300 mph. Hood converts to twin hi-powered machine guns … Same abilities in robot mode not as good a flier. Overall not as good a flyer as most flying opponents.

These are great!

Overdrive, was one of my first figures, my brother worked in a store and stole the robot points off packages and sent away for him on my behalf.

Severly battered after 20+ years of use I still have him. He's very intresting and one of my favorite figures!

Oh, joy! Camshaft is one of the literal handful of TFs that survived a few months in college where I sold off all my toys so I could continue eating. Nice to know a little more about him, finally.

I'm glad the Double Changers finally got BIOs. I always thought they were pretty neat. It's a pity these guys didn't get proper exposure in G1. They didn't even get a proper release if I remember right.

Sure they did.

These figures where very unique in their time, and like Reflector, being mail away only enhances their collectability.

Plus outside of shipping, if you had your Robot Points, they were free!

Never reissuing them makes them gem like in the hallows of Transformers.

Granted they still do exclusives, but they're never anything real origional, usualy just a repaint and if you're lucky a new head. Plus they'll charge you out the ass for them.

These were quality, origional bots. Things like this, the S.T.A.R.S Command Center were all things that, in my opinion, helped make Transformers special in the multitude of toylines, which added to it's lasting power.

You know when newer fans (welcome) start with "what's so great about G1" well keep in mind, besides an awesome show, there are alot of other reasons, that sadly you didn't get to enjoy like us older fans did, that established Transformers on a level better than great.

Motto: "Vote for Beast Wars!"
Weapon: Sword
So these are for the original G1 Omnibots, right? I was a little confused by Universe as there was no Omnibots in the old Universe toyline. Can't say the same for the new one. And while there was a Camshaft and Override in Alternators, I don't think there was a Downshift.

Indeed, minus a few things in there. I'm 18, so unfortunately I was never around for the original G1 releases, the Robot Points, etc. But I was lucky enough to see G2 on shelves, along with the G2 cartoon. But yeah, it is things like this that makes G1 so awesome.
Latest Acquisition:
#307 - G1 Sparkstalker
#306 - G1 Wide Load
#305 - G1 Erector
#304 - Movie Landmine

In this age, with everyone including Hasbro sharpening an ax with the origional fans neck, it's nice to see a newer fan who apreciates where this all came from :APPLAUSE:
