You can see those shared parts on those figures. Thighs hands and knees for both those examples. On this? You can see there’s no shared parts. They’re two different figures with similar engineering. I thought there was in the crotch and thighs but I have wheeljack in front of me and I’m looking at the sunstreaker photos, there’s nothing there.
What about the hips? Looking at photos, those might be the same. And there's no telling with the inner shoulder.
I checked both. They are different, he’s a new mold. Similar engineering in a couple spots but he’s a brand new mold.
1. Please learn that you don't need to insert umpteen line breaks after the closing quote tag, and that it's actually best to delete the one it creates by default.
2. Can you give me some closeups of Wheeljack for comparison? Especially with regards to the matter of the inner shoulder, because none of the Wheeljack pics I'm seeing on Google Images are giving me a good look at his. For clarity's sake, by "inner shoulder" I'm referring to the joint part of the shoulder.

Because the back top the the rear of the car becomes the front of his shoulders and biceps. There’s no place for it.

It may be a balance thing. Remember the Sharkticon mold is rather front heavy, and the ball joint knees/elbows don't help the matter any at all.

Im not taking photos. you can just take my word , someone who has wheeljack and has compared him in hand to these images and can verify that sunstreaker is a new mold. Im not trolling or laying deceit. I’m confirming he’s not a retool. Congratulations. You’re getting a new mold for a character. I’m happy, you should be happy.

Actually, the middle of the top rear of his car mode would stay on his back. The rear vents and bumper become the arms, but not the middle part. A spoiler could potentially be mounted to that part.

Those holes I circled are the same holes. That would meann his spoiler would be on the side of his arms which would block his ability to use folks like ironworks and the siege weaponiser. No place for a spoiler unless it became a weapon. Something they obviously didn’t wanna do

If he had been a Wheeljack retool, they might have been able to do a hinged spoiler like Jackie's bot mode wings. Thats part od why I thought Jackie was going to be the base mold

Whatever. You obviously know everything about it and wheeljack who you don’t own, but you’re right there could have been a spoiler and an extra gun and whatever else to complain about. Hasbro obviously coulda done better. I’m tired of arguing with a grown adult over a toy they’re not gonna give two shits about 2 months after it’s out because they’ve moved on to another figure. I gotta better stuff to do than deal with this trash.

Sunstreaker on the other hand... The CW version has completely the wrong robot mode because it's a headswap recolor of Breakdown, and the Universe toy really is a mold intended as Sideswipe and redecoed as Sunstreaker.

Ironically, I've always thought Sunstreaker wore the Universe mold better than Sideswipe.
I think 'Swipe and Alert wore it better because the transformation layout is more along their lines. But do you know who think would frankly wear it better than any of them (especially with some retooling to the arms to mount the doors in a different way)?

Hmm... I think FunPub missed an opportunity.

Probably because the original toys are pretty small, but then again the regular Autobot cars were pretty small, too.

(No idea who's photo this is but it's good for comparison.)

That could be, and the minibot-like transformation scheme helps that assosiation. I was just going off of their fictional appearances, and that I never remembered them being that small.

1. I'm not claiming to know everything about it, I'm saying that there is a part of his vehicle mode rear that you were overlooking. I'm sorry for shouting... I got extremely frustrated over you not grasping that the first time around.
2. I conceded to you on the matter of Wheeljack. Why do you think I didn't mention Wheeljack anywhere in that post?
3. I'm not saying that there could have been any of that, I'm just saying that there's real estate on the back of his car mode where a spoiler could potentially be mounted (on narrow struts, like the original Sunstreaker toy). I know better than to think there would have been one, plastic limits mean that the only way there could have been a spoiler on the toy is if they'd forgone the supercharger (or made it part of the supercharger piece).

People were the same way with the Generations Insecticons. At first people complained about them being too small, until...

People rationalize things in different ways. Personally I like that they're toy scale faithful by accident, but I would also like to see the three in Deluxe scale and uniform designs eventually.

I'm fine with the Insecticons still being the size of their G1 toys, because that jibes with the cartoon scale (same with the Battlechargers being more like the regular Autobot cars in terms of height). Although being height-engineered Deluxes would allow them to actually have accessories.

That POS is going to need a lot more than just boarding steps... :twisted: :-P :lol: :-D
I think that both Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker will be good figures. Hasbro has yet to make a perfect WFC trilogy figure, but most of them have been close. Of course, I don't own all of them, so maybe there is a perfect figure out there. It's all a matter of perspective, really.

I think the Insecticons we got in the Prime Wars trilogy are perfectly fine. They don't need to be deluxe sized.

So I guess it looks like Earthrise and probably the line after it will have a fairly large share of repaints/remolds, so Inferno from Grapple is pretty much a given.

Also, if we get a blue Bluestreak, I will definitely get it, but won't it be way too similar to Smokescreen? Except maybe the small differences in the paint job, like the red and silver.

I wouldn't say the differences are that small. Bluestreak's calves and roof would be blue where Smokescreen's are red, his hood (which is a not-inconsiderable part of his chest) would be silver or at least gray, and the air dam would probably be painted black. The difference would be greater still if the mold has an alternate hood without the air dam.

I totally might be late to the party, but if these listing are completely accurate, does this mean that Hasbro reacquired the trademark for "Trailbreaker" again? I can't remember if this known for a while or not.

Anyway, I am happy that we are getting these Earthrise version of both 'Streaker and Trailbreaker.Really gotten into a more "classic/sudo G1" collecting habit within the past 3-4. Shame about the lack of a proper/traditional weapon with Sunstreaker (as was the case with other characters like Wheeljack), but I can manage, and he'll look great with Siege Sideswipe. (I will laugh though if Hasbro does decide to do an Earthrise version Sideswipe though, ala Smokescreen.)

I won't. I got lucky with Smokescreen by missing out on the Selects figure, this way I can pick up the Earthrise one. But I did get Prowl and Bluestreak, so if they get Earthrise figures, I'm gonna have to choose. And I really like the Siege Datsun mold. I'm trying to make a collection of the WFC trilogy where every character is represented by 1 figure, so if we're getting multiples of the same characters with only small tweaks between the 3 lines of the trilogy, I'm gonna have hard choices to make. Honestly, if I had known how awesome the WFC lines were going to be, I would have passed on most of the Prime Wars stuff. As it is, I can justify them as my IDW versions, with WFC as the G1 versions. But it's getting tougher. That's what I get for putting limits on my collecting, I guess.

@Slashercon Sunny's original toy never had a traditional gun either, just projectiles it could load instead of the fists, so the animators were always having to fudge one on the spot when the script wanted him to hold a gun. Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Ironhide were in a similar boat.

Wheeljack at least has his main weapon, his shoulder-mounted launcher.
Sunny... It's a shame they couldn't give him more, but on the other hand it's important he have the supercharger. For those who have the Universe version, you could nick that one's exhaust pipe pistol and give it to SIEGE Sunny. For others... Well, Titans Return, PotP, and SIEGE at least provide plenty of firearms :D
WANT:
* Cybertron Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Cyb Jetfire R gun and missile
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* DotM Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* ROTF Jetfire R JTFR panel

Di Bonaventura is not a credible or trustworthy source. And most fans do like the diversity push, thanks.

Trading MOSC MMPR fliphead Pink Ranger for ER Fasttrack or SIEGE Refraktor

They got it back for Combiner Wars Trailbreaker.

I actually didn't get WFC Prowl or selects Smokescreen (although I thought about it). Only have Barricade and Bluestreak for the Datsun mold, so on top of Earthrise Smokescreen I wouldn't mind if they decided to release a Prowl for the line too. Smart plan on getting only one version of each character. I haven't had the best show of restraint when it comes to that idea.

True true, his toy didn't have a traditional gun, but it would've been nice if he did have it. if I had to choose one or the other, i would choose the supercharger though.

lol That's why I didn't remember, I totally had no interest in that version. (No offense to those who own and/or like the figure.)

Unfortunately the hardest part is having the restraint to wait until the entire trilogy is released, and then go picking through the entire line. I have purchased the majority of the Siege line, and now I'm second guessing some of those purchases, given that some figures will be redone. I expected the major ones like Prime, Megatron and Starscream to be redone, but I thought smaller guys like the Datsuns and other less prominent characters would be one-and-done, and that Siege would cover the season 1 characters, Earthrise the 2nd season, and part 3 would do season 3. Obviously that's not the case, and it's screwing up my collection plans. :-x Of course this doesn't include commander and Titan Class characters, as they wouldn't be redone. Now I'm seriously considering not buying anything other than Scorponok and Sky Lynx until the trilogy is done so I can see what the best options are. But with the way distribution is in my area, it might come to that anyway. All I have seen in stores around me are wave 1 and a few wave 2 deluxes, nothing else. :evil:
