Ohhh that design looks nice! Completely wasted on a Prime redeco though. Retool the vehicle mode into an APC and you've got all you need for a visually interesting new character.

Machine Wars Soundwave from Doubledealer seems inevitable, especially with the cassette gimmick (though I'm hoping they retool his bird mode into a bat). Retooling Siege Ultra Magnus as Machine Wars Optimus Prime seems plausible, especially since they could also pump Thunderclash out of it. Machine Wars Mirage could be a simple redeco of Siege Mirage.

Beyond that, though, choices are currently limited.

Siege Mirage could be redecoed into MW Prowl (or Energon Prowl I guess), but we'll probably get a datsun Prowl from ER Smokescreen.

It's stretching a bit, but they could recolor ER Hoist as MW Hoist or MW Hubcap, but Selects Hubcap will probably use Cliffjumper's mold, and a black recolor of Hoist would look like Trailbreaker.

Siege Spinister into MW Sandstorm seems obvious, but their transformations are so different the color layouts don't work.

MW Megatron and Megaplex from ER Starscream is plausible, but there are a lot of seekers to go through before stretching to that.

I guess you might get MW Starscream from a ER Snapdragon retool, maybe?

They could simply modernise and rebrand both Machine Wars and Transtech into the next New line and no one would really question it.

You know what's kind of funny?

I tend to think of Machine Wars and the original "Universe" line as being bargain bin figures. Both lines were predominantly filled with recolors of figures released in other lines, and although some of those molds were new-to-U.S., the toys were not out of place in an outlet store. But their modern successor is essentially the pricey, semi-exclusive Selects line. I guess that's why I automatically consign Machine Wars to that release medium.

It's really too bad Selects doesn't cast a broader net with their mold choices - I'd totally be in for a Unite Warriors Thrust in Universe Sunstorm colors.

I got this guy and I love him in my collection, instead of being Optimus Prime I just simply made the guy's headmaster into the entire character. (Shreddicus Maximus for those who didn't know the name of the Headmaster), with the flip-down helmet on the mold it really works as a Knight helmet that was shaped after Optimus but isn't his actual face.

Turning repaints into their own characters is a good way to have multiple versions of a character on one's shelf but not have any "paradox" thing going on.

Questions to those who have ER Screamer: is he worth the $30? And is he an improvement over Siege Screamer in robot mode? I know there are video reviews, but it's different when you have a figure in hand.

To me, it's apples and oranges. He's am improvement over the OG Classics mold, but he's a totally different figure than the Siege mold. And because he seems to be a new generation CHUG Starscream, his articulation is better than that mold, but not perfect.

I try to pose all of them in his classic 1984 box art pose - and he can do it, so it's a win for me.

I've seen him, wasn't interested, his head seemed kinda small compared to his body, which is also mostly hollow 'round the sides; if you can get past that, he seems nice

Bit of a scattershot in molds here... so wasn’t 100% sure which thread to stick this on..... really digging the unified scale they did with WfC: Siege and Earthrise. The older TR molds are still solid imo; but definitely out of scale now. Not that I want to get the “which astrotrain is best Astrotrain” debate started again.

It’s nice to finally have all of Soundwave’s minions together at last. Really hoping we get Blaster and Co (probably in part 3).

As for Starscream- forgot to grab him for the shot... it’s a tough call. If your tastes are 84 earth style he’s perfect. If you want him to fit in with siege the get the other.

If the only thing you care about is the robot mode, I don't think there's any reason to get ER Starscream to replace the Siege version. However, I love ER Starscream as the ideal CHUG figure at current scale. I know others criticize the figure's articulation limitations, but the transformation and alt-mode are perfect, so that more than makes up for it for me.

Today I saw him in person for the first time ever, and even though I wasn't impressed with pictures and video reviews, in-hand he's not bad. I'm kinda split on him, because there are a few things I don't like (his shoulders, red crotch piece and tailwings attached to the ankles look stupid), he's very Geewun-y which is the msin reason I would like to get him. The Siege figure's robot mode is superior looks-wise, IMO, but it's not an Earth-style jet so he doesn't really fit in. (I have the same problem with the Datsun mold, I'm kinda regretting getting them, especially if we get those figures in Earthrise.)

We all have weird things about how our collections are supposed to work. For me, it's not a binary choice - I LOVED the return to before the beginning aspect of SIEGE. It's what sold me. I wish they continued it longer, but now that we're in Earthrise, I'm still excited, me being the epitome of GEEWUN and all...

Anyway, yeah I got the Datsuns and the Seekers and I'm going to get them again: Cybertron modes and Earth modes.

If Bluestreak also gets the ER treatment, I suspect the Siege Datsuns will be available for cheap on the secondary market. I'm planning to keep Siege Smokescreen's shoulder guns and Siege Prowl for the IDW reboot, but I'm not going to need seven copies of the Datsuns.

For me, I'm split on the double dipping. The seekers I will double dip on the main 3, as the siege tetrajet is different enough from the eartrise plane for me. The datsuns are the opposite for me. If the new mold is basically a reshell with a little different proportions, better feet but the same basic transformation, then siege is good enough for me.

I only got the Rainmakers because I didn't like how the colors looked on Starscream, I already had a blue one, and Skywarp was sold out everywhere so I'm fine with getting the new Earthrise ones. Datsuns, however, I might pickup Prowl, and if they do a blue-sided Bluestreak, but I prefer Siege for Bluestreak and Smokescreen. Honestly, mixing and matching is part of the fun for me. They share a similar DNA while not being identical. That's the great thing about Generations. In general, they all tend to look fairly good together, even WFC and Prime Wars, at least in my opinion

Same here. Last time I checked the MP-4S Convoy Sleep mode fetches a pretty penny on the aftermarket now. I agree I would buy this and never open it. I always like the paint job on MP-4S because of how subtle it is.Yeah pretty much everyone here has no toys lol...but yeah I'm like you I pop up every so often.
