I'm done with Magatrons (the SIEGE version is fine) but this mold could make tons of other Decepticon Tyrants if HasTak would quit BSing! Straxus, Tarn, The Fallen and even a decent Bludgeon if done right.

There's just something about that 'sword' accessory for Earthrise Megatron that drags down the entire figure. It's so.... lazy. They didn't even try to do anything with it.

The face of ER Megatron is very off... I'm not saying the Siege version is perfect either.
But here are the differences I've spotted:
The helmet comes down to too much of a point above the forehead.
The face itself in some ways looks too big for the helmet/head... It just doesn't look proportional.
Basically it makes the helmet/head look too small for his face.
Also, the black line above his eyes is much too thick, even if those paint apps in the photo were more accurately applied.
Omitting the two black triangles on his forehead that help emphasize the "brow" area was a mistake. That's an important part of his face imo.
Lastly, after looking at my Anime paint apps Megatron, the ER version's face is lower in the helmet... Which is maybe what's making his face look to big and the helmet too small.

The lame sword and other flaws don't even weigh-in simply because once I saw the face/head he as an instant and absolute 'pass' for me.

Too many Megatrons. I really enjoy the Siege Megatron, looks good and is a lot of fun. I really like the combat exclusive Megs too, so all these other ones coming out, I have no interest in getting.

Now if they were to come out with Straxus I'd be all over that.

ER Megatron is not that bad for someone who don't own the Siege.
For everyone else, that ER mold was truly meant for the stellar G2 Select.

The point of the helmet above the eyes (which why is that pointed/angled) has forced his facial features downward. Probably making his chin look too big as well. But look at the illustration and notice where his facial features are compared to the inside edges of the helmet.

My conehead 2 pack showed up in a Hastak mailer.
It even had an insert to support the angeled side of the packaging.

Haven't opened it yet... But will soon.

Man, if you're thinking about getting this set, imo it's well worth it.
Not saying there's tons of small details to get right, but these paint apps are freaking tight and clean...







This makes me even more anxious for the release of Thrust!!

Just how is the box shipped from Hasbro anyway? Amazon is the exclusive vendor for the US, but it's not the only store in the world to carry it you know? Do stores in other places get like cases of 4?

And on topic, I really am so happy to have this set.
I don't remember changing anything about the packaging/shipping details on my order, but it showed up in great shape.
JUST looked, now the set is unavailable...

FWIW, this is the intended shipping format when Amazon says the package will reveal the contents. I have no idea why some were sent without the outer cardboard box, but that was in error. Mine will arrive tomorrow, so I'll see how that turns out.

My best guess is somehow the 2-pack arriving at some Amazon warehouses without that Hasbro shipper, so the warehouse employees, already being rushed for a bunch of things, see that it says "ship in original packaging" which with the lack of shipper box seems like it's saying just slap a shipping label on the figure box, think it's weird but they don't really have time to think about it, slap the shipping label on and send it onwards.

I'm sure those workers are crazy-busy.
And you have to wonder if Amazon is receiving the set boxes and the specific Hasbro shipping boxes separately, even if they're on the same palette; where there's a chance the workers don't see the shipping boxes right away (or at all).
If I'm remembering right, AronJ received his set in a different box from the Hasbro one with an airpocket. So there's still hope that people will receive their set safely in another shipping box.
