The transformation scheme of some of the Marvel crossover figures were based off the abandoned Transtech prototype. Or rather, the Hulk that turns into a tank was based off the scrapped Transtech toy named Immorticon.

So, heres a random thought. What if we don't get a Megatron in this line, but instead we get Galvatron? I still enjoy TR Galvatron, but it'd be interesting to see if we got a new one with a hidden third mode that's his original toy's gun mode. Plus, I'd love it if we got a Selects repaint in toy accurate colors

If this trilogy gives us another galvy, if reckon he'd be another candidate for part 3, given his original post movie role.

Yeah, Galvatron doesn't have an earth mode, so there's no reason he'll be in Earthrise. For the same reason, I think we're unlikely to see many of the unreleased Targetmasters.

Technically, the official story for Earthrise is about the Ark's journey through space to Earth, but which begs the question of why many of the toys already have Earth modes before they even get to the planet. 8-}

Like how SIEGE Mirage's F1 car mode predates the human race? :P

An intermediary Decepticon Leader in Earthrise could easily be Straxus/Darkmount/Bludgeon. Or considering the timeline of this series is all over the place, Thunderwing.
As WFC is so G1-obsessed, Galvatron is who he is, so I doubt he would appear until part three. Likely tying in with a certain HasLab Beach ball with a Backpack.

Honestly, if they keep the cast of 'The Movie' to part 3 I'm fine. For one thing, as good as they could be too much of my collection is already made of the Titans Return version of these characters to warrant changing everything. However I'd be quite open to a Voyager/Leader Rodimus Prime, as the POTP version just didn't 'do it' for me.

With the initial Earthrise leaders being a deluxe/voyager with a box (of sorts) we might see Leader G2 planes out of the voyager starscream :P

Joking aside, should be interesting to see what comes out.

It used to be you'd get three repaints of the same non-toy, non-show CHUG mold in a decade, now we want a new mold every two years. I like to imagine that after Earthrise ends, I'll have recent CHUG versions of all of the '84 - '86 toys.* I can be done, I can finally rest.**

* Not including Blaster's minions, for some reason.

** I can never rest, no one can ever finish a collection, you just keep adding to it until you die.

That reminds me, what are the odds of us getting a "Leader" Blaster that's a retool of a new Voyager Soundwave with detachable speakers that can form bases for Micromasters? I think it'd be kind of cool to see a Voyager-sized Blaster, but I think the only way we'll be getting Blasters is as retools of Soundwave

I mean, this is all speculation and wish fulfillment, I don't know how "odds" should work. Close to zero?

I don't understand why they would make a Soundwave or Blaster base mode when that was the key feature of the Titans Return molds, including context-appropriate integration into that play pattern. I don't know how you do an Earth mode stereo that plays nice with Micromasters. In fact, I suspect that the reason we got Soundwave, Refraktor, and Megatron in Siege is in part because their Earth modes don't really fit in with the rest of the line. Their alt-modes were the biggest departures in that line.

My original goal was season 2 of the cartoon, and I only extended through '86 due to scope creep, so I'll be okay without Autobot tapes.

If a Voyager scale Blaster isn't coming with Earthrise, then we'll probably see him by the third part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. One interesting possibility might be a "Leader Class" Blaster release, with a Voyager sized Blaster and 4 Micromasters as his classic G1 cassette buddies: Steeljaw, Ramhorn, Rewind, and Eject. That works out perfectly in terms of pricing too. A $30 Voyager plus two pairs of Micromasters at $10 per pair is equivalent to one $50 Leader Class release! It would probably be an easier sell having a smaller main figure in a Leader Class release too, as the added value of the "extra" parts is much more clear, being figures that fit another price point instead of extra optional armor parts of unclear worth.

I still feel like we haven't got a really good Galvatron or Cyclonus. But wait for the next line. That's when Unicron's coming out, right? Feel like the right time.

Yet SIEGE Springer exists, over Grimlock, Jazz, Bumblebee and many other favourites of the pre-Movie era. We even have latter day Head/Target/Micromasters taking pride of place over the '84-'85 crowd. Considering the Movie cast is relatively small, I don't see a reason not to add them all. Especially considering they were all party to the original Head/Targetmaster gimmick.

I'd agree there. RTS Cyclonus is a pretty special figure. I'd swap him out for Scourge. Another character we haven't had a really good figure of... Ever.

Wouldn't mind a G1 springer with more accurate modes, specifically the copter and with a titan master but that's not likely. Happy enough with TR/Tak legends Sweeps/Scourge and CW/UW/RTS Cyclonus. Prefer to see variety and more characters over them redoing what we have though.
