But what was mentre83 talking about when claiming Soundblaster was separate from Soundwave? The only instances when that happened were those under extenuating circumstances. The most prominent version of Soundblaster is Soundwave himself in a new body.Coptur wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Coptur wrote:I know the G2 Sideswipe has its fans but i think it is a wasted slot when Deep Cover, Clampdown or even Tigertrack could've been used instead.
Especially now that they're embracing Soundblaster as a separate entity from Soundwave.
Have I missed something? When did this news that sound blaster is separate to Soundwave come out? I know we're getting the toy as part of the 35th subset but as far as I'm aware that was it.
I should've quoted for continuity (my bad) i was aluding to the belowmentre83 wrote:mentre83 wrote:
It's nice to see Slam Dance back, even if not in cassette form.
G2 Sideswipe instead is quite pointless, unless it is meant to represent a new character sharing its deco (something that I previously read referred to Soundblaster).
I do think it's a good idea though give him Enemy, Stage-Dive, Glit, Garboil & Howlback

He becomes a really great toy once you fix that part:

Sure but like you say, it's a nice attempt. I really dig it myself. It helps that Flywheels is a damn nice mold.
KVO Prime wrote:This is like those promos where there's one item you want but you have to buy all the crap that comes with it to get it. Leader class price points just because they come with little targetmasters? What if I don't want to pay that high of a price. I like it better when they keep the meat and potatoes separate. I want Skywarp but not at leader price. Ugh.

Out of everyone here she has me the most happy because I just don't have any version of her at all. She's one step towards my goal of getting all the Seasons 1 - the movie characters. Bring on Lancer.
Reason why you don't have a version of her is because this is her first toy period. Not even third parties have made her. I'm really excited to see first time figures and I'll definitely try to get her.

And, seriously, no one is forcing any of you to buy these. If you don't want them, don't buy them.

The difference with these is that I don't have to travel to another country to a packed convention or scour the aftermarket for x300 times the original price. Yeah they are overpriced exclusives but they're nowhere as bad as the Botcon stuff.

Overpriced? Lets see here:
Firestormers
G2 Sideswipe, Deluxe: $20
Slamdance, Deluxe: $20
"G2 Sideswipe's Battle Master": $6
Total: $46
Skywarp
Skywarp, Voyager: $30
"Battle Master Trio": 3 x $6 = $18
Total: $48
Considering Hasbro doesn't believe bulk lowers the price, and rounds up to the nearest Price Point, Leader at $50? Yeah, paying a few bucks more than one should, but that's been the name of the game

When was the last time that actually happened with Transformers?
