Sadly not so for the leaders since we now have a lsiting for leader Shockwave. So more G1, for sure.

Ooohhh, Leader Shockwave! Is it too much to hope for that it has a gun mode, even if its hidden or named something else, like Sixshot's Submarine mode?

If they make him turn into a tank or something cybertronian, but include a mode that looks like a gun I would be very very happy.

Oh well, guess the (very short lived) glory days of Titans Return are gone all too soon. Back to basics and creative bankruptcy. Was hoping Shockwave would be Deluxe or Voyager but if he's leader, it's a pass then. >:oP

A leader sized Shockwave? Boo! Voyager or bust, Hasbro! At least that "Walgreens" Cyber Battalion Shockwave is pretty decent for now.

As for the "Battle Masters," I don't think they necessarily indicate we'll be seeing their larger traditional partners in the line, with but a few exceptions. I'm pretty sure this is a way to fill in the gaps from the Targetmaster characters from Titans Return, giving them their G1 weapon partners. Only the new Autobot Targetmaster characters I think will show up in Siege. This is great too for former Takara fans. They already have the Targetmasters if they've collected most of the Legends line and are just waiting for stand-alone deluxe class Sureshot, Crosshairs, and Pointblank.

Guess I'm in the minority, but I'm thrilled for a leader Shockwave. He'll round out my 'main" cons in Leader class with Megs, Soundwave, the 3 seekers, 3 phase 6ers Nemesis Prime and Rodimus Unicronus.

Yeah, the classics line now has several scales that arent all meant to be together, a leader shockwave is to go with all those Budget MPs you mentioned.

Hopefully we'll see some Battlemaster molds which work as 'stand in' for the partner of the three Decepticon Targetmasters jets. These guys were my absolute favorite from Titan Return and I'd love to at least accessorize them with their partner. As long as the general shape is there, I can always get some paint to complete a close-enough look.

However until I see anything I like (and maybe it's soon, hopefully) that line is heading toward being a big 'pass' for me.

I'm also in favor of a leader class Shockwave. Other than the MP, I can't remember when we got a big Shockwave. Out of curiosity, why wouldn't a leader class Shockwave be good? Pretty much all the Shockys we've gotten have been voyager class, with the exception of CW and FoC. IMO we don't have enough big Shockwaves as it is.

That's not saying I want to see leader class Shockwave over some other characters who desperately need a new figure, but if I'm restricted to Shockwave, I want him to be leader class.

I was on Twitter last night, and I found this, and this is something that hits the nail on the head for me. This is Josh Burcham (pic is a link!) and he does stuff like this for fun, taking a character reveal and twisting it into something really cool. And this right here is what a proper WFC Prime might look like. It's different, it's cool, it's not your standard Prime, and it works.

I am thrilled for the line, even if I am planning to be very picky. But I may jump on a leader Shockwave, the same I will for the Cyberverse Wave. But I am really really hoping for a leader Deathsaurus and Star Saber here soon, and preferably a Victory Leo from it too. The current team appreciates the Japanese G1, so lets keep that going! That is new for all of us here pretty much

A lot of people, like me, want a good G1-styled Shockwave that is in scale with the majority of the "Classics" line. The most popular scale puts Optimus Prime and Megatron at about Voyager scale, with the rest of the cast roughly adhering to that. This works great with characters like Thrilling 30 Jetfire, most of the Autobot cars, the Minibots, the Insecticons, etc. We're still waiting for better versions of a lot of key characters at a more appropriate relative scale, like Starscream and the seekers at Voyager (the PotP mold just doesn't do it for me). Shockwave needs some Voyager love too, and the Beast Hunters mold, while good, is very obviously made with a different artistic direction in mind and doesn't mesh well on a "G1" display shelf. A G1 Leader sized Shockwave just isn't the right size for what the majority of fans are looking for, unless you're a fan of the "Budget Masterpiece" subgroup, as William James puts it.

I get it, and I agree that we haven't gotten a proper G1 voyager Shockwave yet, one that goes with TR Megatron and Galvatron. I still would like a leader class Shockwave though. [-(

And that Burcham drawing is pretty cool. Has a TFA feel, especially in robot mode.

I'm not gonna lie: part of me was hoping for a radical new Optimus Prime design so I could use his body as the baseline for a Prima custom. We'll see if his mold gets any retool that looks a bit less like Sunbow!Optimus.

I'm not so sure. We've just had a deluxe, TR head, leader, and evil twin leader for Hot Rod/Rodimus in just the past 2 lines. He's a prominent figure, but not quite at the level of Optimus where there HAS to be an OP figure in every line.

I think Shockwave as a Leader size is fine. By the time he comes out the Leader size figures will be about the size of old Voyagers anyway.

I kid.

Kind of.

At least when Titans Return did it they were completely different mold at different size class and both aimed to accomplish a different goal: the Leader Optimus of this line was a Powermaster Prime update while the odder Voyager was a mish-mash of Star Convoy and Laser Rod Prime using an Octane mold. Both were quite good in their own right, looked radically different from each others and appeal to wildly different tastes.

Oh I know, same as the two op in the combiner wars with many repurosing battle core prime as nova prime. Still, I think we only need one op in generations every couple of years, they could alternate yearly releases with the other lines.

A leader Shockwave seems fine to me, I've always preferred most Decepticons being bigger than most Autobots, like they are in the 2007 movie and Animated, that's a personal collecting preference of mine. I have hardly any Deluxe Decepticons in my Prime Wars Trilogy collection because of this, and the few I do have are displayed in Combiner limb modes pretty much all the time.

I'd really love a LEADER SHOCKWAVE. But designed by some wily smartass. Shockwave would officially transform into a spaceship, but there would be a "secret fan mode" that he could transform into something that would look just like the G1 laser gun (by sheer "coincidence").

What would make this really easy with be to just take the G1 gun mode, split its grip in half (which it already should be able to do since it would form his legs in robot mode), and fold out and splay the two halves of its grip horizontal to the gun's body so as to serve as wings for the "spaceship mode".

And if that weren't enough, maybe have the end of the barrel fold back to reveal a cockpit to make for a more convincing ship mode, and tell the marketing that the "barrel" folds forward to give the ship a supercannon "Attack Mode" feature.

Optimus' truck mode looks interesting, to say the least. I don't think I'll be picking that Prime up.

Refer to the highlighted part. I thought it was an interesting tidbit that it was specified that the brand shouldn't be on his robot-mode while on Cybertron.
Thinking more about this, even if we weren't getting pre-Earth Cybertronian altmodes and were to still get normal Earth altmodes, I think the old "CITANES" logo would still be omitted from any modern Hasbro-released Mirage toy anyway, since Hasbro wouldn't want to have anything printed on their toys that could be seen as promoting cigarette smoking to children.

Not weird at all, I like the Prime Masters the most from the previous line

They were fine but I wish we had gotten more pretender characters/the full Thirteen Prime lineup. The fact Waverider, a core Autobot Pretender, got scrapped is particularly bad.

My daughter is an aspiring artist, and she knew my son (who loved Masterforce) was sad that there was not going to be a Diver Pretender, so she customized one for him for his birthday.

Awww, that's sweet. And very well done. But she need to thin her paints a bit.

So, something I was wondering. We've seen people speculate about a new Thunderwing all the way back into Combiner Wars and I wondered if, maybe, they couldn't release a Black Shadow retool as Thunderwing in Siege. Now, hear me out on this: the Black Shadow/Overlord mold has space to store a regular head meaning it wouldn't need a Titan Master and during Prime Wars we saw cross-series remolding, namely Powermaster Prime (a CW Ultra Magnus) and the Powermaster Jets (as Aerialbot retools) as well as Inferno (Hot Spot retool).
