Have we had it in writing that Slamdance is a Skytread redeco?

Also, the recent discussion re: Barricade has been using him as an example of influence from outside G1. That's all.

Plus, they hardly ever have a real impact on the main canon.

It's possible, however, for an exclusive to be a retool of an unseen main mold.

...Speaking of retools, here's a crazy thought: Combining retool of TR Rewind and Ravage. Still be out of scale of course.

Punch/Counterpunch. Not saying that Slamdance will definitely be a new mold but potp punch/Counterpunch kind of threw out everything we thought we knew about exclusives.

Emphasis on "almost never" and "hardly ever". So exceptions are still possible, and so is shifting focus. ;)

We have seen a paradigm shift as of late so i wouldnt discount anything. Though my guess is still that it wont be a fully original mold.

I suppose. But the point was to A. give Lionizer a home for now and B. give Slash a slashing weapon that will tide her over til I recreate the unproduced daggers from her design art. Well, that and show her wielding some big weapons.

Received my Deluxes Thursday night, opened them Friday night and messed around with them some. Gonna give them some more attention this week.

Gotta say, a fairly solid opening round in the Siege. Finally got a great Sideswipe, so my 2nd favorite TF of all time is covered with a great generations figure! Hound is really fun, and to me may be the best of the lot overall thus far. jeep mode is steller, love the transformation, and his robot mode is really fun. Cog is pretty good looking by himself, but the weaponizer gimmick is awesome. And Flywheels is pretty alright. I wish he had a bit more to him, but not a bad first effort.

I love the battle damage too. It really works on Hound, and I really like the effect on Sideswipe. It's minimal on Flywheels sadly, but Cog helps make up for it.

All in all, a great first round! Now to keep an eye on the stores for the battlemasters and micromasters!

And I still don't understand why people would think Barricade would be based on the G1 version as a Deluxe in a line full of Micromasters. It's clearly going to be a different guy named Barricade to separate it from the original after we were told only the gimmicks of the original figures would be carried over into Siege meaning a Deluxe Micromaster was never on the table.

Though we're going to have to see how they spin that when Slamdance comes out since he'll lack tape modes and be over sized compared to Ravage and Laserbeak.

Emerje

Exactly the same thing as Rook from the Combiner Wars line not being based on the actual G1 Rook?

I'm going to give Pteraxadon to Red Swoop, a.k.a., Ptero. As for Lionizer, I'm thinking about picking up a Cybertron Smokescreen to repurpose as Action Master Rad. That'll be the perfect partner for him.

See? Sideswipe looks great with the right selection of Generations figures! You did worry a bit too much, but I'm glad you've come around and are happy with Siege Sideswipe, ultimately. :)

Also, am I the only one who's growing to love Power of the Primes Jazz more and more? He started off for me as just combiner fodder. I fully intended to keep using United Jazz for my display instead, but now that he's just way too big, PotP Jazz fills that spot quite well. I had to get a second for my Classics display so I could keep him as a leg for Firestormer simultaneously.

Not quite. That G1 Rook came some 10 years after G2 Rook and isn't even an original Hasbro creation having been a BotCon Europe exclusive designed by 3H. CW Rook should probably be looked at as the G1 Rook (for modern continuity).

*shrug* Looking at comparison photos RTS/United Jazz is only half a head taller, which puts him in the same head height category as TR Hot Rod, so I don't think he's that monstrously tall. I actually just ordered one to be my main CHUG Jazz.

Now, I do rather enjoy PotP Jazz and think he's very cool, although I did have to take a Sharpie to a certain decal. But I did ultimately get him more to be "Jazz that combines with Optimus" than as a main Jazz. He's certainly decent in the role, mind you!

I've got both the United and PotP Jazz in hand, and the difference is actually a bit more than half a head, unfortunately. Your mileage may vary, though, in that what constitutes a big difference to me may not be so for you. Also, I hear you on the "Shrapie fix" for PotP Jazz. I was fortunate enough to track down two Wave 3 versions that didn't need that fix. If Selects Ricochet has a hidden political message somewhere, I'm going to be pissed.
