Well, maybe or maybe not. Didn't the code for Greenlight sort of reveal Lancer as a possibility? If I'm recalling that correctly then Hasbro has used the codes to reveal things before.

Only in this instance. Taking precedent from Cybertron's online content, more often than not it was design sketches, color charts and other development material. Is the camera mode advertised on the box in any way?

Not totally impossible, but I wouldn't hold out hope. Like I did for the missing PotP Decoy Suits.

No one has pointed out an obvious flaw with the box set logic: the code comes with the Refraktor toy. Ostensibly, the person putting the code into the site just bought 1-3 of those toys. Why would you hint at a box set for a new, comparable version of the product the customer just bought?!

There are a multitude of possibilities that could happen.

Maybe a G1 toy inspired boxset could come out?

Maybe the picture is meant to reveal the "hidden" camera mode? But again, where did the extra accessories come from?

Perhaps SDCC will reveal something, because I am also itching to see those 35th anniversary redecoed Siege Prime and Megatron, as well as Soundblaster

I'm sure they do, which is why they haven't said anything. They want everyone to buy they 3 retail ones first, then when the box set comes out, they'll have to buy it all over again because it has a slightly different deco on it. They know us collectors all too well

Sorry to repeat myself, but I feel this question got buried by the more current news of Wave 3 stuff coming out, but if anyone has any info, it would be appreciated. If not, I guess we'll stand by and wait.

back on 2/20/19, news broke about listings for a Voyager Apeface & Leader Astrotrain for the Siege Line:

However...since this news broke, we've gotten a few nice reveals of other figures presumably being released before these. I just wonder though... are the lines fluid enough that they could be pushed back as early releases for the 2020 line? It's just the lack of news thus far (which could change with SDCC)...and the fact that these are only 12 months lines now has me a bit skeptical. By this time last year, everything about PotP had been revealed, aside from any Selects or exclusives.

It is nice that Siege seems to have a more robust 4th wave, of which these 2 could certainly be a part of, but one would think their target date would be closer to October rather than December...

Were you able to purchase? Siege Galaxy Prime has leaked my local Target shelves but has a lock date in July so they couldn't sell it to me.

This is what i don't get. I am sure there are some dates for certain items, but I've seen them *leak* before, and get purchased. I've seen Leader Prime at both Walmart and Target already, though admittedly I haven't tried to purchase it since its not one I'm after. I also saw Godzilla toys (exclusive to Walmart) leaked in some stores weeks before they should have been on shelves. I even purchased items before their supposed retail release date many years ago when I worked in retail. I'm not sure what, if any, consequence there is when this date is violated.

I haven’t heard any murmurings about either of these items and I have been keeping an eye out for sure. I can’t wait to see what they do with those two if they actually released them but there’s been no news of them since.
If these are still coming out I could see a huge reveal at San Diego con, and with the lack of news so far maybe it’s the one time they were actually able to keep things under wraps who knows.

I'm sure they'll be in the next line. Considering the lack of evidence that they exist outside of the listing and release date, I wouldn't be surprised if they're part of the next line or it as a misunderstanding on the retailer's part. Personally, I'd be surprised if Astrotrain is confirmed because we got him in Titans Return, but if Apeface isn't confirmed, I'd be disappointed because he deserves to have his robot body, not just be some spare head. If we do end up getting Apeface, I'd be shocked if we didn't also get Snapdragon.

Which, does bring up a question I've been having since the rumor came out: How would you guys want Hasbro to handle the double headmasters? Have it be the same as the G1 toys, go the cartoon approach and have the beast heads not be formed by the partners, or have two separate headmasters for Beast and Bot mode? Because I can see an argument for the first two and some unique tooling for the heads so they can be double sided, but given Hasbro's handling of the other headmasters, I can't see a way to make it work.

^I had to look them up (had no idea he went by 2 names ...) because I have taken no note of the VA's on Cyberverse because it isn't my thing. He isn't terrible, but I guess I'd have to see how he did Optimus Prime in something closer to the original series. Who knows, if they conscript him to work on the Netflix series, he might win me over if it's really good...

Jake Tillman sounds good but I think him trying to sound too much like Cullen is to his detriment. For one thing, he's a very young guy (**** he's younger than me! ) and it seems like he's aiming for the Movie-verse/Prime-styled 'Old Peter Cullen' voice, which is very deep and aged. Maybe its not his fault and its the producers telling him to try to be as 1:1 to Cullen as he can which is a shame because Chalk, Kaye and Kaplan all voice some incarnation of Optimus without doing that voice. Granted, David Kaye was doing a young Optimus Prime but still.

Yes, I know Peter Cullen is the iconic Optimus Prime voice and has very much reclaimed the throne after 2007 but lets be real: when Gary Chalk was doing Optimus Prime in the Unicron trilogy it was fine. Same with Corey Burton doing a spectacular Megatron on Animated. Its only because of the movies and TF Prime that Peter Cullen and Frank Welker's modern take on the characters seem to have taken over our mental image.

However, since Transformers reboot itself every couple year I wouldn't mind (and think it would be better!) if they let these voice actors do their own thing and inject some personality into their role. Beast Wars Megatron would not be as fondly remembered if David Kaye had been told to 'try to copy Frank Welker'. A good example of a role that keep changing hands and work every time: Starscream. We've had, in recent years, Michael Dobson, Tom Kenny, Steve Blum, Sam Riegel, Charlie Adler and Billy Bob Thompson doing their own take and they usually work.

The only reason I was OK with the different voices in BW & RiD was because they were different characters. If there had been new shows trying to be the original characters, I would have hated them. I love doing my Optimus impression I have a G1 one which I prefer but I can butch it out for the movie version too. I just copied the intro to Voltron as a kid about a thousand times and just found I can copy the tone and intonation. He has a specific lilt in his cadence and it it’s not there it’s just not right.

Like in the ‘86 movie which I used to again copy a million times as a kid there that tone when he says ‘We don’t have enough Energon (here) to power a full scale assault (slight pause)’ it’s that cadence that makes it, not just a proper gravel. Sorry I’m a voice actor fan. Always loved the art form.

My G1 Ironhide is just as good.

Neeson is a great actor, but wouldn't quite fit. The most commanding voice I can think of he did was Aslan in the Narnia Films. It still had a lightness that doesn't quite work. It wouldn't be terrible, but kind of like Hugo Weavings Megatorn, it would just seem off....
