Ironhide's wheels are actually fairly hefty as far as SIEGE goes. And I wouldn't say he needed a lift kit so much as a protrusion kit. It's not that the G1 toy is higher up off its tires, so much as its tires stick out sideways.

Could that be modded somehow? :-?

Yes. Remounting the wheels to a frame of movable struts attached to the back would be the ideal way.

The problem with modding Crosshairs is you gotta make sure not to screw up the fairly accurate robot mode. Hmm, maybe a 3dprinter blue bumper that slide off during transformation, slotted inside the 5mm ports at the front of the Ironhide vehicle? Could that work?

Giant wheels or butt wheels?

I didn't get Siege Ironhide because I already have the part of the cast in the Masterpiece collection, but I hope to experience the mold through Crosshairs. The likeness is pretty good. Wish they did a better job with the deco of the arms and hands though.

Crosshairs is dummy THICC. =P~

....I’m sorry, someone had to do it.

I’m in the same boat; I don’t have Ironhide because I have Universe (2008) Ironhide and despite all the shitbit gets, I still like it enough to want Ratchet. However, I intend on getting this Crosshairs as a way to experience the mold and (hopefully) jumpstart the modern revival of the Autobot Targetmasters. Can’t have the Decepticon Targetmasters and not have the Autobot ones!
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Is that his US character model or his Japanese one? Or did the Horrorcons not diverge?

Same model for both shows, except for the back. (Not shown here.)

The shades in Rebirths were a little different. But I think it was for everyone, including established characters like Optimus Prime.
The ones that had different models between the two shows were the Autobot Headmasters (including Fort Max), the Autobot Targetmasters, both sets of Clones, Punch/Counterpunch, Rodimus Prime (he got a new Toei-original model upon Hot Rod's regaining the Matrix in Episode 3), Scorponok, the Duocons (different models from their toy commercial models) and Sixshot.

That's what I was thinking. Heck, make it hinged so you don't have to detach it!

And yes, Crosshairs' original toy sure does bring a new meaning to rear wheels :-D :-P
That's why I proposed remounting the wheels to a frame of movable struts - it would enable positioning the back wheels on his aft without inhibiting articulation.

Great minds think alike. :)

Thinking about Crosshairs more, the more I'm convinced he was made simply for availability's sake. "Crosshairs" has been used quite a bit thanks to the movies, and "Pinpointer"'s last use was in DotM, should Hasbro want to attempt his partner. "Sureshot" and "Pointblank" haven't been reused since G1/G2, as have their partners "Spoilsport" and "Peacemaker".

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

I don't know, still think the plausibility of seeing his buddies is there since we've seen Double Targetmaster Spinister announced for Siege. It might just be his two buddies are retools of molds we have not seen yet.

Its not like any of these toys are rarer or more expensive than any retail toy these days. And many would argue you are getting more with these older toys.

Hey, I had to collect most of mine after the fact and I'm still not done. Most of them aren't too horrible on eBay even now. The main ones that will be a pain in your tail are Galvatron, Nemesis Breaker, and Menasor.

By the way if Sureahot get his own mold as a space baja buggy there is a fairly wide pool of potential recolors:
-Joyride (and his JP counterpart, Ranger
-Aquafend (and his recolor as a Decepticon, Jetstorm)
-Fizzle
-Ruckus
-Gripper
That's a lot of buggy guys. TF need more buggy molds, damn it.

Ehhh. I'd prefer them take it further by reshelling the car a bit to look like an aquatic vehicle like she originally was. Much like baja buggies, aquatic vehicles need more love.

I think the Punch/Counterpunch mold could be retooled as Pointblank, with his spoiler shield taking the place of the Prime Armor. Might take reshelling, but the transformation engineering is there.

Apologies if anyone else said this.

This reminds me of people being scared about TR Krok amd Quake. How did that turn out?

Great since they were released again in later waves and revisions. The Jumpstarters, Windblade, Missfire, and Perceptor on the other hand, never saw their waves in store and none of them had second runs. I had to pay more than twice retail to get a Missfire on Amazon to go with his fellow Targetmasters. It's a moot point for Refractor if he's showing up in later waves, but since revision waves can block out numbered waves in stores (why I never saw TR wave 4 or 5 in stores) it can be just as harmful or even more so than small packouts in a case. That revision wave getting more Refractors on shelves could mean those same shelves never see wave 5's Spinister and Crosshairs.

I was surprised that the custom cross hairs used a missfire head as most ebayers seemed to be very aware that it wasn't easy to get and was marked up to at least double the price (for us it was cheaper to order a legends version by at least £10-17). Was the same same for slugs linger and the jumpsstarter/windblade. I gave up on the jumpstarters and got both the legends for the price it would have been for me to get the remaining hasbro one. Windblade didn't matter to me which version I got and I was really undecided on missfire as I liked the hasbro one. At least there is more solidarity with the combined line and it if waves get skipped the Japanese releases will be a way of avoiding sclapers to some degree.
