It doesn't look like anything missing, rather those white marks are where the pieces were connected to the sprue (note how they're in relatively the same spot). I did read that the mechanism can be quite stiff, so there may be an issue inside the head.

I fixed my TLK Leader Megatron!

DPFAR (Double-post For a Reason):

So I was looking around my Megatron's head and neck tonight since my above post and I found a way to disconnect it from the housing it sits on. There's a screw on the side of the neck from what it looks like. I didn't see it at first and didn't realize it because it's easy to not notice.

Image

Okay, so I took my mini-screwdriver set and loosened it. I didn't even need to take the head off completely because I noticed I could finally lock the mask in position from this point on. As you can imagine, I am giddy with the result. So I tightened the screw up a bit more (not overly tightened, just enough so the plastic pieces stayed closer together with no opening of any kind) and still saw my "fix" worked and stayed. So crisis has been averted and here he is with his mask finally locked in the open position that I've been unable to do up until tonight.

Image

So I am doing a "woot woot" for this and waving my Decepticon flag happily. :CON:

Now I can get to work on my feature for here for reals now! XD

Hi,
I have an MP-24 Star Saber and it is having problems with one of its foot ratchets. Its left foot will not lock into place to make the foot flat; so Star Saber stands flat. The foot ratchet wants to make the foot point out a little. It just won't lock in that possition: it will lock in the next position.

Has anyone heard of this issue or have experience taking apart the foot and fixing the ratcheting?

Thanks!

I haven't noticed this on mine, but I have a suggestion. Back when TR Trypticon came out, one of the hip joints was weird, not allowing the leg to sit flush in alt mode. I disassembled, flipped or rotated the offending gear, and everything works much better now. (I also did other fixes, but that isn't really relevant here.)

If you are comfortable trying it, I might suggest disassembling the affected area (foot or ankle, if I understand correctly) and see if the gearing can be adjusted, either flipping or rotating the gear structure. It is possible that the tooth pattern is off because of mis-assembly.

When I get a chance, I'll transform mine and see if there is a similar issue.

the guardian robot (om--- s-p----) motorized tank when I put one of the tank threads in ,it clicks in when I transform it to a tank while the other tank thread it doesn't do the click in locking. it goes in , but it doesn't stay locked in. it moves loosely sometimes. what could be the problem if someone can tell me? thank you!

Sounds like the locking mechanism is busted. If you transform Omega Supreme from Robot to Tank Mode, you have to press a tab marked "PUSH" on the side of the treads to unlock them before pushing them into the body.

Similar mechanism are found on large toys with telescoping legs, like Bandai's Mecha Toys.

i always do that by pushing each tank thread down before pushing them back. where does the locking mechanism go?

i opened it up and everything was ok. including the white tanks. nothing seemed to be broken inside. I reassembled it afterwards and it still it doesn't click and lock in like the other tank thread after sliding it back. the tank rolls fine around the track and the head rotates as it lights up. when i put it to walk it walks across instead of straight on the wooden night table. don't know if this is common.

Well, I have to report a break. I had MP Megatron, the latest version, on display in gun mode. My daughter and dog came running into my room to say goodnight (yes, on a side note, the dog won't go to bed unless I give him a goodnight hug and kiss also) and knocked megs down and his gun barrel broke off, it's a pretty clean break, and I think some superglue will work without limiting the barrel's rotation. Any better fixes to suggest? Thanks in advance for any help you can share.

What's the best way to repair broken soft plastic like the one used for CW Starscream's crown? I've been trying to think of a way to repair it but I can't come up with anything. Is there any glue or maybe melting it or some method you guys would recommend?

I am not familiar with that price, how soft? Rubbery, or more firm? Also how broken? I have a few ideas, but some aren't so...clean, but they work3d for me when I used to fix toys from salvation army and such when I was younger. If you have any photos that could help too

Best way to describe it is that it's firm, but will bend a bit if enough pressure is applied. It's broken into 3 pieces. I'll try to add a picture.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply. Did you get a chance to look yet?

I've been looking at mine and I'm wondering if part of the gearing was somehow worn and maybe it was always defective. I've yet to try to take the foot apart and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how it may be taken apart. It looks like there's a screw: but I can't tell if there's a nut of some sort on the other side of the connection.

Does anyone know if there's some sort of Takara contact or a blueprint or a manual for such things?

Thanks

Hi all.

I know the recommended joint tightener is Pledge Floor Care Finish (the blue bottle).

We have at home MOP & GLO Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner with Long Lasting Shine. Is this a good alternative or would I be best going out to Walmart at getting the Pledge?

Thanks!

You'd be surprised how many parts can be fixed by loosening the screws. I got a TFA Ratchet second hand and I didn't notice that one of his shoulders was frozen. Turns out that there are three screws on the back of it that I was able to take a mini screwdriver to and bingo!

If you customize or repair toys I highly recommend getting these or something similar. I have a set of Stanley ones that have served me for years. In fact I used them yesterday to remove a broken window from Combiner Wars Leader Class Starscream yesterday. (It was jagged and I eventually wanna replace it)

BTW does anyone know if shapeways has a replacement for CW Leader Class Starscream? I'd also be interested in some replacement missiles and fins for him since they were missing when I purchased him at the second hand shop. (Bonus points if anyone knows where I can get a star saber like the one in TFP)
