If there are Transtech prototypes, shouldn't Botcon be allowed to produce them if Hasbro isn't going to?

I knew at some point there would be something that would make me want to join the TFCC, & this is it. I had always been curious as to what Transtech really could've been, & this might be the thing where I find out. We'll see....

The transtechs were ugly, like the Beast Machines Maximals. :/

I hate Transtech designs.

But if the whole concept is going to get people all kinds of pissy over the Club membership...I'll be 100% for it.

(I can not for the life of me, understand why Transtech is popular. Especially considering that most people HATE Beast Machines designs and HATE futuristic alt modes. Whatever.)

Because, as far as I understand, they never produced the actual full scale production molds for the Transtech line.

On the other hand Beast Machines had a terrible conclusion, so maybe these comics(I'll just buy on Ebay or Amazon) will better the story even through it isn't a direct connection.

Comics are OK but I'd rather have the Transtech figures. They look awesome.

p.s i like how they took BM Optimus Primals bot form into consideratin for his Transtech form, looks good.

Yeah, that's a real prototype.

but if your talking about the first optimus in that picture, then that toy was released. You can see the gallery here on cybertron.

As for the bottom one on that page. That isn't Optimus Primal. It's meant to actually be Optimus Prime.

I honestly don't get what fans see in those stupid looking Transtech designs. They were just dumb looking sketches that would make Pat Lee's lame ass art look Da Vinchi.

Oh my, well at least we know they were seriously thinking about toys back then.

Haha yeah I know that's primal, i own him. I was just saying I thought it was interesting how they modeled Optimue Prime compared to Optimus Primal (BM), they are similar in the arms, etc, even the weapon capabilities.

Transtech looks 07 moviesh, well I guess that should be opposite. That's why I like most of them. They feel like Big Boy Transformers. The only kiddie designs I like are G1 and the upcoming Animated (I think I'll enjoy those, not as much as G1 of course).

I feel Cybertron/RID/whatever was kiddie AND trying to have futuristic vehicles. I didn't care for that combination.

Beast Machines went a bit over board. I didn't like any Drone/Con designs as they were futuristic vehicles, but still had slick animation. Maximal alt modes were great, bot modes not so much BUT not to bad. These Transtech ones sit better with me.

ANyways I think for me it was about the type of animation and style in combination with futuristic alt modes that turns me off.

G1, Movie Style, Animated is my turn on.

Hmmm. Interesting. Not enough to get me interested in Club Membership, but this seems like a cool way to use something that would be otherwise unused... and seriously, complaining because you can't read a $40 dollar ($90 outside the US) annual fee to read a comic is just silly. You've just made a smart decision and there are certainly enough Transformers products out there that you CAN buy for a more reasonable price. I never really get too stressed out by missing botcon exclusives. While some of them are pretty cool (and I guess I would love a Classics Thrust), I don't really consider them "real" unless I can drive to Target or ToysRUs and buy them off the shelf.

I guess the lesson here is that if you aren't having fun collecting a toyline (and seriously, there's no reason to do this unless it's fun) and are getting as angry as some people get, then maybe it's time to look for a less stressful hobby. Just a friendly suggestion.

Well said, my friend, well said.

I think Transtech was best skipped in favour of Robots in Disguise but I think it is neat that the Club has picked it up. I think the Club fills a void for some collectors, a void that wouldn't be filled otherwise. But really, some people should come down out of the clocktower and put away their rifles before someone gets hurt. They are just colourful toys after all...

Dude ... it's like $40 for a membership. It's not an arm and a leg. Cough up the $40, enjoy your "free" toy that comes with your membership and enjoy the gift that keeps on giving all year long.

Here's the link to register: http://www.transformersclub.com/membership.cfm

Y'know, I've been thinking...considering that the Transtech protos are in the hands of collectors now...
And the fact that several Armada/Energon/Cybertron molds that HAVE been released were inspired by Transtech...
AND given the Club's usual modus operandi of repainting and remolding heads...

I don't think it'd be too far out of their way to just remold heads on some of those A/E/C molds, repaint'em and VOILA! Transtech figures.

Granted, it wouldn't be quite the same as seeing the actual designs in three-dimensional form, but then they'd be no worse off for character-design accuracy than either G1 or the Movie toys were.

I didn't know that.

So some people are complaining that they just shouldn't make a Transtech comic. No one's going to make you read them if you don't want to.
Some are complaining that they don't want to pay $40 for the membership that gives you a free freaking toy and discounts on a lot of other stuff. If you're that cheap, then just wait a week or two after they're released and read the inevitable free online scans of them.
Cry me a river.

In all, sincere, serious honesty, I actually don't hate Pat Lee's art.
Granted, some of it was assclowncars full of balloony baloney, but, for the life of me, some of it rocked hard.

I kinda doubt that's the case (at least judging by the teaser image on the cover of the latest Club newsletter). I was just pointing out that they do have repaint/head remold options for Transtech-inspired figures if they ever wanted to do it.
