TRON: Uprising

So... Disney went and early-premiered the first episode on Youtube. Full vid, 720p HD available, no commercials, about 32 minutes. Has a few Hollywood names doing the voice acting. Sounds like Daft Punk is still doing the music. Series takes place before TRON: Legacy, continuity is semi-changed, though, in theory, what i'm talking about COULD have happened before the movie. First episode has sorta a Batman Begins vibe, but it's not a bad thing. Visually speaking... this series is a mind-numbing EYEGASM!

Oh, right... here's the link.

Animation was kinda choppy, but I liked it.
It raises a whole lot of un-answered questions though.
I thought Tron got turned into (I cant spell his name) Rinsler? And this new tron, did he end up dying too? I mean, he wasnt in the latest movie, and this clearly happens before it, leading up to it. Un answered questions, alot of them.

That train was cool BTW, and the ways they used all the gadgets and other things of that like was astonishing. It's like they never ran out of ideas.

Still, I didnt know mere programs were capable of such feelings.

BTW, was that girl the same one from the movie, the one that gets turned ino a human?

QUESTIONS UNANSWERED DAMMIT!

I may get hooked on this...

The choppy animation was probably due to youtube. Watched it last night and it was smooth.

Anyway... Spoiler tags dude!

No. That wasn't Quorra. As for the new Tron, AKA Beck, no idea yet what happens. As for OLD Tron, AKA Rinzler, apparently CLU left him for dead as opposed to immediately reformatting him, but with severe wounds to his code. Remember, Flynn said he never saw Tron again (until he sees Rinzler for the first time in the movie!) All of this is before Legacy. Kinda like Star Wars The Clone Wars. I mean seriously, where the hell was Ahsoka in Revenge of the Sith? If I had to guess, old Tron will slowly lose himself to his Rinzler persona as the series goes on. Probably the damage to his code. He said he had "scars that won't heal." I'm betting he's "infected" with programming from CLU and fighting it off as best he can.

Remember... between CLU's betrayal and Sam entering the grid, 20 years pass in the real world. On top of that, time passes differently in the grid. Flynn said "Hours in here were just minutes out there." In grid time, Uprising could be several decades, if not CENTURIES before Legacy. Users probably continue to age at a normal rate, hence why Flynn wasn't decrepit. It makes sense. He was spending several "days" in the grid each night and apparently not coming homing looking like he had aged at all. Anything can happen!

Tron did get turned into Rinzler. Towards the end of legacy Tron was able to break his "programming" and retaliate against CLu so in theory he did become tron towards the end of legacy, His whole " I gfight for the users" quote at the end before his death.

Glad to see those interested in TRON! ;)^ I did see the promo for the series about a week ago when I was surfing youtube and I was hooked. I do feel some of the character designs were not so impressive but for the most part it all looks visually hypnotic. I am getting ready to watch the first episode shortly so I hope as the series moves forward all the holes and questions get filled and answered. Thanks for posting that link Aluus...end of line! :VEHI:

It could be Tron hasn't been fully reformatted into Rinzler yet. I'll take a wild guess and say it ends with Beck, on Tron's advice, altering Clu's signal to send it to Alan.

Oh, all that and more. Tron was in a very loving relationship with a female program in the first movie, even.

No, there's no way that's Quorra, she said she was on the run since Clu started to exterminate the ISOs, and didn't stop running until a program helped her find Flynn...could be that program was Beck, now that I think about it.

The program in this is Paige, in case you were wondering.

:APPLAUSE: I thought this was a awesome show with a great start. All the characters were really well thought through by the creators involved and the story was I think, very well written. I like how each character seemed pure and not too over the top.

Sorry to say this but TRON-Uprising has so much more than TF Prime could ever offer! I've tried an episode here and there with Prime but for the cool things that can be said about the show IMO it's overwhelmed by other things that I feel are keeping it from greatness. I will say that Prime has an awesome opening sequence (too bad the damn brats are in it) but that's it.

Hey BeastProwl you are right man, that train scene was awesome. I can't wait to see what's next for the following episode...end of line! :VEHI:

Wow, I've never been to the general discussion, and I swear I only came here thinking there just might be a topic on this.

I liked this episode, all the slo-mo is really cool. I hope there's some awesome Tron moments, where he completely owns everyone like Flynn did in the End Of Line Club. Too bad this takes place before Legacy, since we know that Tron will eventually become Rinzler, and that this new Tron/revolution will fail. I already wonder how this series will end, without being sad.

I'm really glad the music is still the same as well, though I can't tell if it's new or just remixes of the Legacy score. And one track sounded nearly identical to the Inception score, that was weird.

Anyone catch the latest episodes? I just finished episode 3 and so far I'm into the story and the great potential this series has over Transformers Prime. One cool thing I like to point out are the EFX for the gaurds/centurious and their staffs. I love how when they make contact they give off that glow like blurr from the contact point, it so reminds of Tron '82... ;)^...end of line. :VEHI:
