I'm a little bummed because I love doing Thanksgiving with my family. It's easily one of my most favorite holidays. I still might head home for Thursday but I'm not 100% sure yet. I could always work locally on my laptop and just upload the code when I get back home (I have a WAMP setup on my laptop and my desktop ... Windows/Apache/MySql/PHP). I don't know ... with most of my friends going to their folks place for the holiday it would give me a great excuse to not get sidetracked with going to the bar or having other friends come hang out at my place. I'd be able to stay pretty focused on the task at hand over those 4 days.

I say go. It's Thanksgiving! What do you think holidays are for?

Exactly. Family is more important.

While I agree ... I live 3 - 4 hours away from my family. I'm starting a new job the Monday after Thanksgiving and my last day at the company where I'm currently employed is the day before Thanksgiving. My co-workers want to take me out on that night which is also the biggest bar night of the year (yes, bigger than New Year's Eve). I guess I really want to use that 4 day weekend to get ahead on stuff with SEIBERTRON.com before I start the next phase in my web programming career. Plus I'm hoping to get a new bed on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) courtesy of the crazy Black Friday store sales. I'll be home for Christmas which will be exactly 1 month from Thanksgiving.

Only 3-4 hours away? I?ve day-tripped that. If you leave Thursday morning at 8, you could be at your family?s by noon. If you spend the night and leave early Friday morning, you could be back home with plenty of time to do your shopping. That would leave you Saturday and Sunday to take care of your Web work.
Just a suggestion.

Easier said than done my friend ... trust me. I want to work on the site on that Thursday. That's an entire day's worth of work. I've never skipped a major holiday before so I'm sure 1 holiday isn't going to be the end of the world. My Mom's giving me a hard time as well but it's what needs to happen this year. If it's not the new Transtopia code, it'll be the galleries so that I can hit 1,000 before the end of the year.

To be hounest I think visiting family twic within 2 months is a bad idea but if you love them enough and have the time I say do it.

If not Christmas is only another month away and with the sounds of your plans the day before and the day after all that driving and you won't get any rest.

Do what you feel is best. I'm with you all the way.

Good luck on your choice, you have a couple weeks to decide.

I guess the biggest difference is that I look at SEIBERTRON.com like a part time job. I turn my cell phone off at times when I'm working on the site, I turn off the TV ... I try to treat it like a part time job so that I can get as much stuff done on the site as I do. That's a big part of why it's as big of a website as it is. Dedication. Devotion. Commitment. One day my site will pay for my living but not yet ... I've got a long ways to go yet.

heh...I decide to take a breather of Transtopia for a while(yes, I KNOW I`ve been a lurker for the last few months) and I come back to find we`re merging with the one site I first signed up with...oh well, I`m not complaining and while I haven`t done much for my abscence kitbashing wise other then one or two repaints that aren`t quite finished yet, it wasn`t because of a lack of love for kitbashing....at least I don`t have to scurry to save my few galleries now.

According to Seibertron, the Domain will still work. It will just be on Seibertron.com's servers.

It's still a really odd thought that this site will be with seibertron.com ...
It'll take some getting used to I guess...

I signed up with Siebertron eons ago (Johndillinga2003 I think, need to drop the 2003 part lol) so i should still be there...
But as someone touched on earlier in the thread about the board being stagnant, In fact the whole comunity as a whole has been this way.
transfandom.com has suffered as much if not more from the stagnation.
we moved to a new server:

http://www.transfandom.com/forums/index.php?act=idx

Set up new features and some that's still being worked on, but like many of the sites it's slow, dead slow but we keep pushing on because when you put your heart and soul into something you don't want to see it die.

I can understand where TFM is going with the mirger. Sometimes change is good and I think this move will bring more spotlight on our kitbashes as well as opening us up to a larger fanbase and give us more exposure.
we need to start working together if not for TFM but for the art form we all love.
