IN THIS EPISODE ...

In this week's episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast, we are locked and loaded for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. Your host Counterpunch, and regular panel consisting of Tigertracks 24, Razorclaw, Jon3.0, and Seibertron himself discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of the latest piece of Bayhem.

Here are this episode's topics:

  • General thoughts on the film
  • Voice-actor-palooza
  • New characters, or how the Wreckers didn't suck
  • Editing, or lack thereof
  • Groundbreaking visual effects
  • The Elephant in the room - Prime's characterization
  • Bragging Rights

Just a few reminders, though. This episode features light editing and contains language inappropriate for minors. Also, the episode is one giant spoiler for the movie, so if you haven't seen it yet, please wait to listen.

You can download this episode here or via iTunes.

My problem with the Autobot exile and subsequent final battle was that Optimus roles up when Sam was trying to infiltrate Chicago and his basic explanation for why they complied but hid away was pretty much "We had to to prove to your leader that we are necessary."

Also, I noticed that almost all weapons in this movie were handheld instead of transforming from their arms, which bugged me.

People clapped in my theater too, but I didn't feel like they were that into it for the whole movie. I mean, at least in RoTF there was a lot of laughing and enjoyment (even with the oven that was the Imax theater). It wasn't horrible to me in the sense that it was a poor story or anything, I was just horribly bored for most of the movie, and once the final battle actually came around I had already sorta checked out.

Kreon :P

RE: Razorclaw's theory about Megatron being brain-damaged: Starscream gives it some weight - at the scene in Africa with Megatron, Starscream says something about Megatron being sick! I had thought about maybe that was why Megs was killed so easily by Prime at the end of the movie, but, who knows? Conjecture!

Cool! An early release! :D

Are we sure that Gerg Berg is Greg Berger? EDIT: Just looked him up. He's a different guy.

Starscream taking evasive action is not the same thing as being cowardly. That's called strategy. Otherwise, everyone who's ever dodged weaponfire is also a coward.

Megs was based in Namibia, Africa.

LOL, "Decepti-Khan!"

I'd like to hear how Peter Cullen felt about making Optimus speak such lines as, "We will kill them all."

Optimus didn't even register any trace of direct reaction to Ironhide's death. He reacted to Sentinel's betrayal in general, but showed little to no acknowledgement towards Sentinel's murdering of Ironhide.

Have you opted to watch the Japanese DVD of ROTF?

 $800 bucks for Kre-O?! Sheesh! How can you spare that kind of cash?

"Let's Stump Seibertron"

2 1/2 hours. A new record!

Kreon. Second person to say it. I knew I shoulda started listening earlier.

The sheer length of this podcast is enough to make this one a most impressive one alone. The contents of these discussions are what make listening to these podcasts all the more worthwhile. Great job, everyone. Good day to you all, and good luck on your counterpunches toy huntings.

I'm going to have to disagree about the statement with the casseticon's loyalty. In fact, it seems Rumble and Laserbeak are more loyal to Megatron than Soundwave.

Another great show guys. I love the "unplugged" format. I think this movie was pretty good, but the first film is still the best of the 3 for me. Much better editing and music put emotion into every scene. Hasbro said at Botcon that they have more toys to show us, but we going to wait til after the movie to reveal them. I think we will see movie toys on shelves at least through christmas. Great show and keep it up.

I didn't say "$800," I said "$180" on K-Reos. And why do people keep posting "KREON???" That wasn't the "magic word" to win the contest, people!

That was for Ryan's poster prize at the end, which I believe was already claimed.

Gotcha. Sorry, I had to duck out a few minutes early because I got waaay too hot in my studio and my wife was wanting to go to bed. Also did very little editing so didn't get to listed through the entire thing. :BANG_HEAD:

I think the contest still has at least one ticket left, so if you did not respond go ahead and make a try for it.

I've already seen it in both IMAX 3D and in regular 2D. I'll let someone else have it. ;)

I'm going to watch the movie again tomorrow so I'll make sure, but I'm pretty sure that was Soundwave.

@Counterpunch I listened to the podcast again today with Britney. She told me every time you paused while speaking she could imagine you shrugging your shoulders with your hands up, head tilted, making the "ehhh" face lol.

Thanks a lot guys for making the Podcasts happen and for the contest this week. It's really cool winning the tickets and poster. Thanks Ryan!

Just watched the film again yesterday. Pretty sure he's only ever on Soundwave's arm, as Megatron was bent over tending to the Hatchlings in that scene.

Got hold of DOTM today. Great movie, but not the epic Michael Bay promised. Besides too much human storyline, I had to hit rewind so many times to see who's who and who got killed. If you blink you miss certain characters that only have one or two cameos. Still have no idea who the large Einstein looking robot that got killed was. And was it Soundwave that killed him ??? Was that the mercedes bot Bumblebee killed or Soundwave ??? Who was the Ferarri autobot ??? I couldnt make out the name the one time they told him to report to a bay for weapon check. What was the little Einstein looking robots name that hung out with Wheelie ??? It sounded like Brains I think. So much, Im gonna have to watch it a few more times to catch on. But im gonna be the devils advocate and say that part 2 was the best. It had the best combination of action and chance to see the characters robot modes without having to press pause on the DVD. And I do plan on buying the collectors edition when it comes out to show my support. But for now I stay away from theatres to avoid screaming children and cellphone wielding teenagers which ruin any movie.

That's awesome. You totally got a copy in a Miami convenience store, right?

Que was the name of the Scientist looking bot that Barricade executed, and Brains was the little guy with Wheelie.

u watch a crappy bootleg and judge it off that? DOTM had some of the clearest pictures and robot definition of all the films. Soundeave was a Mercedes, there was a whole scene with Carly getting tormented by him revealing that.
