Welcome to the latest edition of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host for the evening, Counterpunch along with the regulars Razorclaw0000, Rotorstorm, Seibertron, Scotty P, Tigertrack

Episode 96 "Age of Extinction" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

It is the moment we have all been waiting for...Age of Extinction has finally hit theaters and IMAX 3D. Many of us saw the film the night before opening day (Thank goodness for 9 PM showings!) so without further adieu we give you the Twincast's AoE review.

Image

We get the ball rolling by offering up our thoughts about the film. Did we like it? Did is suck? Guess you'll have to tune in to hear our opinions.

Image

Ah, nothing like sitting in the theater for almost 3 hours. We'll discuss what we thought about the length of the movie and whether or not it was just a bit too long...

Image

Prime was taken in a different direction with this movie compared to the previous trilogy. Was this change for the best or for the worse? Tune in to hear what we think of Prime's new persona.

Image

Michael Bay treated us with a huge group of new faces that didn't just feel like cannon fodder *finally*. We'll discuss the new human characters along with all the new bots like Lockdown, Drift, Hound, and of course the Dinobots.

Image

Up next we talk about our thoughts on the overall visual effects of the film and how it may actually be worth it to see it in 3D

Image

With the Transformers brand, it always comes down to great voice actors in order to really bring the characters to life. Up next, We discuss the choices that were made for the new cast and if they were good or bad picks.

Image

We then dive into our thoughts of what we experienced when we went to the theater.

Image

News recently broke that there will be a Transformers 5 ...we all have our hopes as to what will be involved with this film but tune in to hear our speculation!

Image

After seeing the movie, did it make you want to buy more and more toys? pfft most of us were already buying them before the film hit!

Image

We finish up our AoE review with a quick discussion on the new video game titled "Rise of the Dark Spark" which is semi tied into the new movie. ScottyP was lucky enough to get his hands on it so listen in to hear his thoughts.

Image

Thanks everyone for listening and we appreciate the continued support! Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on iTunes or Stitcher Radioand be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!

Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the Seibertron.com Energon Pub Forums by simply replying to this post!

Got a question for the Twincast? We take all of them, we just don't take them all seriously! Leave a question in the Ask the Twincast thread and, if it makes the cut, it may get read and answered on the show.

I thought TF4 was easily the worst of the movies. I found watching it the first time was much like watching one of the previous movies a second, third, or fourth time through...I was bored and waiting for it to be over. And I think my biggest problem with it might have been none of the TFs were likable. I didn't like or give a **** about any of them. The Autobots were dicks mostly (Prime included...Bumblebee oddly being the only one I didn't hate), the Decepticons and Dinobots were both entirely generic, and Lockdown is too much of a “who the F are you?” to be the big bad of the flick. Didn’t like the humans either. Marky Mark was okay, but the rest I didn't care for. So all you’re left with is a Bay-story, which is what it is...aka not very good.

I’ve only started listening to the podcast, but am glad at least someone else didn’t like it as I’ve heard so many say it’s the best of the movies, which I find nuts.

Thank you for that comment about the Dinobots being the Knights' steads and not the knights themselves! The whole Knights of Cybertron thing really had me confused given the pace of the whole film and how quickly this concept was just thrown in there. I'm not sure how much of the film lends credence to this theory, I'm definetly seeing it again, but yes, it makes more sense. I like it!

I liked movie it was entertaning way movies are made to be I may not over anaylize movies that everyone does now ever since youtube was created but it was good movie more action than third one, didn't put me to sleep unlike paranormal activity did dinbots, actually like prime in this version he use to trust humans protect them now that all transfromers and autobots being killed off he has big distrust agains tthem until he meets yeager family he found out what humans are really like trust few don't trust the rest, yes still didn't quite understand hole In galvatron chest only guess so he couldn't be killed of as easily from previous movies, did like drift an actuall triple changer and drift calling one dinobots spike bumblebee was enetertaing to watch, hound decent sterotype soldier from 50's and 60' movies that was presentd same with drift, corsshairs liked hothead who likes action. dino bots way they there presented in animated series.

I'm going to agree with Kibble. This is by far the worst of the 4 movies. It's so damn boring... And I really enjoyed each of the last three, I cam out of Dark of the Moon very happy and satisfied with the experience, I came out of this movie wanting my time back. oh well at least it's making money.

The one thing I thought they did actually do a decent job with was giving Galvatron a Megatron 'rebirth' tie-in, as I think CP mentioned. Other than that, it (the movie) was all pretty stupid. I had other thoughts come to mind as I listened to the podcast, but I've pretty much forgotten most of them at this point. The one thing I do remember is the unanimous thumbs up for Goodman as Hound. I disagree. I thought it was distracting. I kept wondering where the hell Rosanne was?

I also thought the TFs looked dumb as hell in bot mode. The human face-look is just stupid.

Claire, congrats on the Victory Leo acquisition. That is some seriously awesome gain, right there! ;)^

Hey Ryan, there is a way to make the MakeToys My First Blaster fit into the Hasbro Swerve's hands, but it takes some work to do. I haven't done this myself (since I don't yet own the blaster), but according to those who do, what you need to do is wrap a few tiny layers of tape around the handle to widen it from 3mm to 5mm.

Tailgate's partner Groundbuster is based on the Micromaster Neutro (save for the deco).

Tap-Out's a male character, Glyph was the female.

Can someone explain to me why people claim that the CG was good in this movie? I just don't understand. The CG is as bad as the CG in a Syfy movie. Some of the Transformers didn't have shadows, there were a few transformations, and the lighting was terrible. The quality of the graphics was just horrible.

I don't think Prime's new robot design is particularly horrible, but he did look like ass at times in the movie. At times his head looked rather kitty-like too, almost like that stupid FansProject Steel Core figure's head.

All things considered, isn't that a bit of an overstatement? >:oP

Nope. I meant every word in that sentence. Bay made the mistake in telling the producers to buy a bunch of pyrotechnics he didn't need and give a little money to ILM.
