the 'wings' are the only thing you need to make then?

I still need to:
1. add details to the cod piece
2. add a connecting piece to connect the cod piece to the waist
3. add connecting piece to connect the waist to the chest
4. do the mechanism to allow the head to insert into the chest
5. add details to the top of the chest (mainly add the pipes on each side of the head)
6. the "wings" (this will be the hardest).
7. Make the sword and gun.

I think that's pretty much what I have left (which is still alot of work). I'm sure something else will come up too.

I think I'm done with doing complete scratchbuilds after this one. It takes an incredible amount of time. However, my next project I plan to do either the Alt Bumblebee we've seen sketches of in that one book or an Alt Arcee from an enzo or some other car perhaps. The car parts I would obviously use a car kit, but the robot parts (body, limbs) I would scratchbuild. I would definitely do this if I did the Arcee since that would be the only way to truly make her look feminine. There isn't too many transformers out there that looks feminine enough (and is the size of Alts) to cannabilize the parts for an Arcee.

Little update:
-Redid the midsection waist to have 2 rows of "teeth" instead of one.
-Added the connector piece to connect the hip to the waist. Made it so the waist can twist as well.
-Added the connector piece to connect the waist to the upper body. These are the 2 pieces you see on each side of the waist. The waist can disconnect from the upper portion of the body while these 2 pieces slide out of the upper portion of the body but still is connected to it. The waist can then be angled about 45 degrees to transform to alt mode.

Impressive man!! A rotating waist adds so much!
The teeth look way better now!

Though I have to ask a thing about the altmode, isnt it supposed to swivel more ?
The frontside of his chest should become the front of the vehicle.
I dunno if it can be done though.. we're talking a lot of space here :)

How far the front side is turned or angled depends on what pictures you go by. In the comics, your right, the front of the chest is facing completely forward in alt mode. However, in Don's concept drawing (found here in Transtopia) and the 10 finger renditions, the chest is angled at around a 45 degree angle where the front is pointing down at 45 degrees in alt mode. I probably have it angled more than 45 degrees in the pics but it can be 45 degrees. I like the angled look better so am going for that look.

This thing is pretty damn amazing. It's way better than what I think Hasbro or Takara would make.

Update: Finished the rest of the body and head. A bit of glare on the head. Probably shouldn't have painted it gloss black. Anyways, let me know crits/comments about the head. Basically whats left are the "wings" and sword/gun. Wings will most likely be the hardest part so next update in 2 months.

The head looks really good, did you do it, or commission it? It does however look just a bit on the small side, just a lil tho, not much out of place. OMEGA

I orginally was going to have TFMaster make the head for me but then thought it would be more meaningful for me if I do it myself, even if it wouldn't look as good as if TFM would make it. So the head was done by me. The head did seem a bit small for me too when I first looked at it but comparing pics from the comic book as well as Don's concept art the head drawn compared to the body looked small to me as well. I guess it was drawn that way to give him more of a brute look so I went with it.

yep.. :D

The head is small, yet I like it.. and like you said yourself, Don's design is the same.
Good job man.

Here's a better shot of the head. There's something wrong with it to me though. The "teeth" makes him look somewhat like an Orc. But then he's suppose to have those "teeth". Anyone else think that way too? Any suggestions?

nah, i think the head looks absolutely perfect. It looks exactly like it did in the comic.

lol..i need to start working more on my WW Prime..all i've built since the last update is his left arm. If you're going to botcon, VP, maybe we can see how well they match up with each other?lol

Yeah, the comic book and Don's concept art is what I based the sculpt on. The head is kinda unclear in the 10 finger's rendition so I couldn't use that even though I used it for most of the body. I went for the rounded look of the comic book but went with the forehead crest of don's concept art (versus the "ears" of the comics).

I actually may go to botcon, haven't decided yet. I'm hoping to have this finished by then so that if I do go I'm going to enter it in the art contest.
