Welcome, Oddimus!
It is too late to turn back now...

In more relevant news, nothing at all to report.

Young 'uns. I wish I'd had Metroplex as a present back in the 80's, didn't get my own till I was 20.

Made the long cycle ride over to Toys R Us in Bedford this afternoon to find not one, not two but three seperate displays for Transformers!

As reported TRU are still trying to get rid of DotM figures, Voyagers and Deluxe etc.

Of interest where TF Prime Voyager Skyquake and Dreadwing plus all the other TF Prime Voyagers. :D
All the TF Prime Deluxe figures where on show minus Airachnid with the highlight being not one, not two but three VEHICON deluxe figures!!!
This is the first time I have even seen a TFP Vehicon Deluxe hanging off a peg in a shop!

The usual Weaponizers and those weird Cyberverse Battle Suit thingys clogging up a couple of shelves, but MP Optimus Prime still looking sweet in amongst everything! :D

I remember getting Metroplex, Ultra Magnus and Scorponok all within a very short timespan. Too young to remember but maybe my folks came into some money at the time or something? I didn't get a proper Optimus Prime until the gold-boxed Classic Heroes though and that was one that'd been broken, returned to the shop and sold as such for only a few quid. Hot Rod was the one I waited til my 20s to get.

Lots of Kreon goodness today courtesy of me old mucker Sven Harvey, full set of the series 1 Microchangers and a second set of the wave 1 combiners.

With my other Kreons.

I've left the 'vest' pieces off wherever I could get away with it, I hope to see less use of those and more of the plates that just cover the back rather than the printed detail on the front of the torsos as the line progresses.

Nice Kreons Waaaaagh (Ork player?) I wish I could make some more shelf space to display mine better. I also like the idea of having a couple of sets of the combiners, I'm aiming to have 2 of all of the Micro Changers line but am somewhat foolishly determined to blind bag them for my second set (usually getting the Mrs to pick random ones from the display box in Morrisons) which has thus far led to a surplus of Warpaths! (I know I could just look at the codes, or purposefully buy them from a reseller.. but, you know, it just isn't the same!)

I really should post some pics of my collections. It's tough finding people who actually appreciate them. I may have to dust first...

Oddimus Prime wrote:(Ork player?)

Kind of, not so much a player as a painter these days. I've been slow burning some Bad Moons for the last couple of years. I started using waaaaghlord as a screen name about 10 years back on the old Epic forums and it's followed me around since. Funny moment at AA last year when Siegfried called me wag-lord and I had to Waaaagh! at him. Almost as big a faux par as pronouncing 'Seibertron' 'Cybertron'.
Oddimus Prime wrote:I wish I could make some more shelf space to display mine better.

I'm in desperate need of more shelves! Over half my stuff is boxed up at the moment. That crate has just been emptied of my modern Thundercats stuff to make room for the Kreons. The guy who owns my house is in the process of selling so I'm holding off adding any more display space until it's sold and I know I'll be staying on as a tenant with the new owner.
Oddimus Prime wrote:I also like the idea of having a couple of sets of the combiners.

I said I'd be doing that as soon as I saw pictures of the sets. In an ideal world every combiner would be displayed this way, an overly expensive option most of the time but cheap enough to indulge in with these little guys. I'll probably do the same with the legion Terrorcons when they hit.

If it's a method that works for you then all is good. If you end up with any unneeded Insecticons or when series 2 hits Vehicons, Scourge/Sweeps or Bombshells feel free to give me a shout, I have a weakness for troop builders. I blame the wargaming years.

Always good to see collection pics. I've been threatening to do a thread for years and still haven't put in the time.

Best bit with those is that with the Lego/Sun/WHSmiths/TRU promotion they only cost me £10. I just wish mean lady in the shop had let me have more than 20. Some bloke in Cambridge managed to grab 300 and shunt them straight to ebay.
Oh, and they came with a ballista each but I only built those 2 and all the ammo. The equipment racks and ammo hoppers were built from the ballista parts and other spare pieces I racked up across the week.

A week in the life of a minifigure collector.

Image

That full week's Lego grabs including two lovely piles of parts for future builds. The stretched version of the construction vehicle is more or less a mash up of two of those sets with the police boat, I think I had to grab the hinge for the hopper from the Uruk set.

Was in my local home bargains, they had powerizer voyagers for £11.95 or something (less then £12) two Starscreams and an Optimus prime

Home Bargains had Voyagers for less than £11 (only the first Ultra Magnus in mine) and Deluxes for (I think) £5.99 - Knock Out and Hot Shot sitting warming those shelves at my local.

Damn it, the KO/Hotshot case should have a Vehicon in it and between work commitments, staying with an old friend next weekend and being incredibly tight on rent after forking out for the utilities it's going to be a couple of weeks before I can hit up any Home Bargains. On the plus side I've got a flight plan around Teeside that hits up to 5 stores including a few out of the way ones so might still turn something up.

Spoke to mother bear and she's going to have a hunt around Ripon and York branches this week. Told her to look for Vehicons and she said 'yes but what's the name?'. Took an effort not to say Steve.

Grrr I don't have a Home Bargains anywhere near me

I think I'm going to take some collection shots later so watch this space...

No spares of anything useful on the Kreons front Waaaagh, but I'll let you know if I get anything. I too am sucker for army building, but I am attempting to restrain currently (I stopped at 6 PRiD Vehicons, and I think 9 or 10 Cyberverse.) But I know what you mean, it's in a Wargamers instinct to hoard troop models! Loving the Uruk Hai, wish I had gotten off my lazy bum and got some of those when I had the chance!

In shopping news for this week, I have done my usual circuit of stores (Bluewater shopping Center - Nothing of note to report. Toys R us Chatham - nothing of interest, I even popped into Wilkinsons and the y only had a few Prime deluxes at full price.)

I'm off to Toys R Us again later as it will be the last chance I have to spend my £10 voucher before it runs out of date so I'll let you know if any miracles occur!
